Charging speed - LG V10 Real Life Review

To power up, you consume Red Bull. But your phone just needs its adaptive fast charger. Rate this thread to express how quickly the LG V10 can charge. A higher rating indicates that it charges extremely fast.

Anyone have a good app to read charging amps reliably?

Just took it out of the box, had 40%. Plugged it into my motorola turbo charger, with long flat braided cloth cable, it was charging at 5v.. I switched out the cable and used the 24awg cable from ZeroLemon's charger and it went to 9v. 40-80% in 30mins~ Main screen off (using OLED USB Doctor sleeve)
I use the Ampere app, it's good for getting an idea, it's not exact.

Very fast

My first phone with fast charging ... and I love it!

love the fast charge seems to charge faster than my fast charge nexus 6

Better than G3

Fast to charge
Fast to lose charge

I thought my Nexus charged a little faster. Not sure what it is..

fast but not impressive since my G2 used to charge at 1600-1800 mah and only need ~ 1 - 1.5h to charge and the V10 with fast charge technology takes the same ~1.5h

DIY solar charging problem...

Hi,
So I've built myself a solar powered battery pack for my awesome Tab. Running into a problem though:
I'm using a 3.7V 10.000 mAh lipo battery and a switching regulator to boost the voltage to 5.3V through USB. The regulator is rated at 3A and my batterypack can do a sustained 5A discharge.
I've also built into the female USB the little resistors to "let the Tab know" it's connected to something capable of delivering more than 500Ma USB is specced to deliver (this thread). Problem is even with the resistors i'm only getting about 500mA of charge, much lower than when connected to mains... I'm thinking i'm still not convincing the phone it can pull more current, either that or something is wrong with my booster setup.

Hi WarlockM,
It was this one: http://www.lightobject.com/DC-to-DC-power-module-step-up-Input-35V28V-Output-535V-Ideal-for-solar-panel-regulator-P498.aspx
I measured the current coming out of the battery whilst charging: 500-600mA... Figured something wasn't right so replaced the whole setup with an all-in-one solution from ebay: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=220712755881&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT
This one really does a nice job, it charges the phone at 1.5A coming out of the battery so probably a little less going into the phone because of stepup (does require the resistors in USB though). It also smartcharges the lipo batterypack at 800mA straight from USB, or in my case solar panel aswell. What's more it indicates the charge level, so am pretty chuffed.
Will be posting pictures of finished product.
Cheers, Fred

Samsung Galaxy S6 charger with the G4?

The official Samsung "Adaptive Fast Charging" 2A Micro-USB wall charger for the S6 supports Qualcomm Quick Charge 2.0 so I'm contemplating buying one for use with my G4. Can anyone confirm if QC2.0 kicks in when using this charger with the G4? According to specs it should then go from 0% to 60% battery in about 30 minutes.
Charges faster yes. That's what I use to charge the g4.

It charges fast no question it's what I use too. But it charges at 5 volts instead of 9v which is considered 2.0 fast charge.

Maybe the device doesn't support it then

I would not depend on a Samsung S6 charger. Here are some pictures of my estimated charge times using my brother's s6 charger, my stock 1.8 amp charger and a QC2.0 charger that was purchased off of amazon.
Keep in mind that the battery is being charged so that alone will lower the time slightly.
Here is the charge time with my brother's Galaxy S6's charger.

Here is the charge time with the phone on it's stock 1.8A charger.
Finally, here is it using a QC2.0 charger that I purchased from Amazon along with a car charger for $24.

I'm sure You will find it on Your favorite online shop like e-buy, I have mine from aliexpress
It's best of all I tried, phone reports quick charge, magnets helps to place phone on charger. When phone runs google maps in car and with full brightness it charges very slowly but it's because of intensive usage.
I have about five of them, using not only in car. The only disadvantage is microusb port in charger, usb-c would be perfect.
I tested baseus, ikea and few other qi chargers. Cheap no name gets hot on charge or phone charges very slow on them. On few it's very hard to place phone :/
I'm using the original black xiaomi wireless charger no hiccups or any problems I recommend.

9h estimated charge time from 0%

I bought a used S10 5G that did not come with a charger, so I am using my Dash charger from my OnePlus 3 phone to charge it, and the estimated charge time is 9h. I am using this cable if it matters.

Edit: I confirmed the problem to be specific to my Dash charger. I tested it on a Qualcomm charger and Google Pixel charger and the charge time was reduced to 1.5 hours. Why is it slow on my Dash charger?

What kind of amps is your Dash charger outputting? For fast charging, you need quite a lot. Even my old Samsung charger with 2 amp output is about 9 hrs from 0 percent.
The charger/cable needs to fully support the fast charging protocols.
Get Samsung 25w brick/cable. Enable fast charging. Make sure the battery temp is at least 72°F at start, preferably 85F.
Fast charging will disengage if too cool or hot (approximately >100F).

Question Can i charge it with laptop charger?

Can i charge my mi 11 ultra using my 65w lenovo laptop charger?
Is it safe?

Okay but what is the port type for that charger?
Should be same of the phone and make sure then voltage isnt higher lest you short your port or worse your board.
I checked if it can be charged with the 65W Xiaomi laptop charger , but it didn't charge at turbo speed sadly.
The phone is "smart" enough to not draw more power than it can handle, even if you plugged in a 120w charger , it would only draw 67w max
But it can handle 67w anyway so 65w shouldn't be an issue
It charges fine on my 120w Xiaomi charger and shows as mi Turbo charge.
