After overwriting stock recovery image (most probably with a wrong image) of HTC Desire 626x, the screen of it become dark and red light is blinking slowly.
Though I connect it via USB cable to my PC, device cannot be found.
Any idea, how to UNBRICK it this HARD BRICKED phone.

Do you have the rom.zip extracted from the RUU? Even if it says it's corrupted that does not matter. That's just because it's encrypted by HTC. You don't even need to decrypt it. Just open fastboot with the rom.zip in the same directory and...
fastboot oem rebootRUU
-wait for it to reboot to the next screen-
fastboot flash zip rom.zip
I was able to get the 6.0.1 update for the a32ewhl(sprint/boost) version this way without even having stock 5.1.
You will need to have your bootloader locked, however. For that just use "fastboot oem lock" before the commands I listed previously.
Hope that helps.

Hey, so I'm trying to return to 100% stock. It's been a long journey as my phone display is not working and I'm going blind here, going from screenshots, but I'm getting there. Anyways I got S-Off, flashed Stock RUU and now just wondering where I go from here?
I know I have to restore stock recovery, lock bootloader, turn S-On, and remove the tampered tag and return it to say "locked" and not re-locked, I just don't know what order and which stock recovery I need. Thanks for any help!

1. Now with USB Debugging enabled, use nkk71's guide post 4 Step 1 Method 1. You need to install CWM or TWRP for the adb commands.
2. Then complete the manual steps Method 1 to remove "Tampered" and to "Locked" the phone. Copy and paste the commands it is easier and safer.
3. Reboot the phone into bootloader per the instructions.
4. Skip step 2, you don't need to install the RUU.
5. Now we need to put the stock recovery back on the phone. You can get the stock recovery out of the last OTA. Download it to your PC, then open the zip file. Within the zip is the firmware.zip, open it and you will see recovery.img file this is the stock recovery. Just extract it to your adb & fastboot folder.
6. Flash it like you did the custom recovery earlier.
In bootloader/FASTBOOT USB, flash stock recovery:
Code:
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
fastboot erase cache
fastboot reboot-bootloader
7. Going back to nkk71's guide step 3, complete the fastboot command to return to S-ON.
Step 3:
Code:
fastboot oem writesecureflag 3
NOTE: reboot 3 times and make sure it doesnt say "tamper detected - rebooting" and then shows TAMPERED again
as far as I know, this was introduced in hboot 1.55
Now you are completely stock with no hint of root.
Ok got it. Just one last question. After I flash stock recovery will it remove TWRP? I don't want any signs of modification when I send my phone back in.

Yes, that is why you are putting the stock recovery on the phone. TWRP resides in the Recovery Partition and you can only have one recovery in that partition.
@majmoz
Ok so just installed TWRP, followed the recovery steps for Locked & Tampered status and rebooted into bootloader, but it's hard to tell if it says Locked. I don't see tampered, because it would be in pink or something. Fyi if I hold a bright light up to the sensor top left I can barely see the screen, but not enough to read if it says locked or not. Is there a way to check through ADB commans or take a screenshot of the bootloader?
@majmoz
Sorry man.. So close to finishing and I've run into another problem. Downloaded the OTA, extracted it, and then when I try to extract the recovery.img from the firmware zip it doesn't send it to the folder. I've even tried extracting the entire firmware zip to a folder, open the folder, and no files show up. :/

Hello, I have a very big problem with my HTC One M7, it's bricked. It's with Hboot 1.57, tampered , relocked, No recovery, no rom and s-on.
I tried to flash a stock RUU.exe
For flashing it I had to lock the bootloader. So I run the ruu.exe and it deleted all from my phone and stuck on "Cheking header - 5%). When I rebooted the phone it was only with bootloader and everything else was wiped.
I tried to unlock it again but after unlocking i tries to get to recovery. But I don't have recovery. If I try to flash a recovery the phone should be unocked. I'm in a circle.
Please help me with this issue. I want to get back with working phone.
I have read all the threads in the forum about bicked htc one m7 but nothing helped me.

unlock the bootloader
flash a custom recovery (twrp 2.6.3.3 preferred)
push a custom rom or a stock reset rom (that match your version) to your phone storage using adb sideload or adb push
install the rom using twrp.

But anyway there is no RUU available that can be used on 1.57 Hboot, S-on and CID HTC__032. So at this point he can only flash a rom using a custom recovery

Excuse me for the late reply. I'm posting the post that helped me:
Use this recovery
http://techerrata.com/file/twrp2/m7/...2.6.3.3-m7.img
Download and put the file in your fastboot folder rename it recovery.img and use these commands to flash the recovery.
Code:
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
fastboot erase cache
fastboot reboot-bootloader
Then select recovery from the bootloader menu to boot TWRP Recovery
Put the stock Rom zip in your fastboot folder and rename it rom.zip
While on the TWRP home screen connect your usb cable. In the command window type
Code:
adb push rom.zip /sdcard
The command window will appear unresponsive until the push is complete (Several Minutes) When its done Install the Rom with TWRP recovery.
When its done Reboot system the device should boot as normal.
Hi all, first time in this forum and i hope someone would save me!
I have an HTC One Mini 2
i'm **TAMPERED** **RELOCKED** **SECURITY WARNING** and S-ON
so from hboot and fastboot i can't do anything (also enter in recovery mode)
via usb in hboot i can use fastboot command but not adb command (for that i have to turn on my device which restart in 30 secs so it's very hard)
in that way no fastboot command works always say security warning failure or something like that
as far as i can understand
i have to get it back to stock state but for doing that i need a RUU (fastboot flash is useless and as i sayed i can't do anything with adb in fastboot mode) with the same version of my device (correct?)
in order to do that i have downloaded from htc the mem_ul source to compile with AOSP but on the phone there aren't the proc/
config.gz file and i'm stucked here.
these are the fastboot getvar all instruction.

unlock bootloader using HTC DEV
In fastboot mode install TWRP recovery
In recovery install Recovery Stock.
that should do the trick
it is security warning not allowing me to unlock via htc.dev

What that means is that your bootloader is locked and you cannot load any software that isn't electronically signed by HTC and specific to your device. The security warning message means that the update you downloaded could have been corrupt (or the OS itself has become corrupt) and the bootloader doesn't recognise it as official HTC software, preventing it from loading.
You have 2 options, you can call HTC and explain what the situation is (if you've not done anything, you'll be covered under warranty), or try to find a matching RUU (Rom Upgrade Utility) and run that from your PC in an effort to restore working software to your phone.
I send my htc to reload stock software and they didnt charge me.
Hello,
I am newbie here but i have did my lesson and i know few stuff before posting but i need a help from someone!!!!!

The OTA update i was received from the HTC from software updates was from 7.19.1402.1 to 7.19.1402.2
I have a stock rom 5.0.2 before an automate OTA update i have unlocked the bootloader and was playing with the device and changing the boot logo and shutdown logo (that was done successfully) and adding european patches for the blinkfeed.
Then i checked for software updates and i wont installed it and the phone booted in recovery clockmod and didnt do anything.
I was searching how to force to install the OTA update and i finally updated using the firmware.zip that was inside the OTA update ,which included the boot.img, recovery.img and etc..
After the installation the phone was stuck in boot logo.
The steps that i did in order to confront the situation was :
1. i have download the RUU.zip for 4.4.2 but i wasnt able install it following the fastboot oem rebootRUU as i was getting an error with explanation that i have newer version installed.
2. I have tried to install the EU RUU but i need to change the CID , but i cant as far as my device is S-ON.
3. I have tried to flash the boot.img again but no success
After any attempt the device was booting with black screen, whenever i tried to flash a boot.img it was booting with the boot logo.
Please advice me what to do because i have tried many thing and i dont know what to try now!!!
Thank you in advance !!

Do you have a locked Bootloader and original recovery for instaling OTA updates from HTC or go S-Off.
You cant´t downgrade your firmware without S-Off. The first soloution is:
1. Lock your Bootloader
2. Go in RUU flash mode
3. Install last firmeware 7.19.1401.2 (remember you need a stock firmeware no modified) or use RUU.exe. Note you´ll wipe your phone.
Hope thats help you out.
Greetings
Crytix
the problem is that i cant find anywhere the 7.19.1401.2 firmware.
For 802w the latest available that i can find is the kitkat 4.4.2
Do you have any suggestion where to find any RUU , the most that i have found are zip, i didnt found any exe.
Thank you
I have used the Guru reset from HTC 1 Guru to reset my HTC One M7 on Three (Hutchinson 3G) UK with version 7.19.771.1.
Like some others I have had the problem of a boot loop when getting the Android 4.3 OTA after 2 minor updates which worked fine.
I have learned that this happened because my firmware is higher than the firmware of the OTA.
I was able to get out of the boot loop fine by flashing TWRP recovery and restoring to my TWRP backup of CyanogenMod, but I still want to go back to stock Sense.
I can't S-OFF as Sunshine is the only tool for HBOOT 1.61 and that won't work on CyanogenMod as it says that I need to be using stock. Also, I don't have the money to pay for it anyway.
So I'm wondering if anyone knows how I can get to stock Sense with all updates applied.
I was wondering if I could do a Guru reset again without performing updates, and then use a RUU of a more recent version to get to updated stock. I thought this may work because the version of the RUU would be higher than that of the current software.
Or would I get something from the HTC Dev Center downloads? Etc
Or is there another way?
Thanks for reading!

You flash it via fastboot in RUU mode. First command you need is "fasboot oem rebootRUU" That will boot your phone in bootloader mode ( black screen with silver HTC logo ). Then "fastboot flash zip (name of the zip).zip. You might want to rename that zip to something simple like "firmware" to avoid mistakes when writing in fastboot. And one mote note - you need htc fasboot to flash this, not the regular fastboot

Put the fastboot.exe file in your regular fastboot folder. That should fix it. I forgot to write that, sorry

I had already done that. So there is the normal fastboot.exe that was already in there, and the htcfastboot.exe.

Alright, now on the command prompt it's saying flash zip complete but on my phone I've got the HTC silver logo with the green progress bar at about 80%, not moving by the looks of it?

That's the way it should be. Now "htc_fastboot reboot" and wait till it finishes upgrading apps. Then set up, and enjoy

Hi,
I have exactly the same issue, needing the same RUU. But the one linked to on android forums is corrupt. fastboot says it can't find the image title and if I open it in in WinRAR it fails the integrity test. I downloaded it three times and FC'd them. They are identicle but all corrupt. Is there another version out there or can you share one you've used? Thanks.

Don't try to extract a RUU zip, it will get corrupted because it's encrypted. Just download the zip, put it in your fastboot folder, and flash via fastboot with your phone in RUU mode

Your version-main is 7.19.771.21 so you need a RUU same or newer than that number. 7.19.771.1 will not work (its older). Unless you want to edit your version-main number from the /misc partition, the simplest is to flash the 7.19.771.21 RUU.
You can download it from here: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24052804347763965
There are some problems today on androidfilehost.com so if you have some issues downloading the file, try later :good:
I get the same failed message with that ruu - I've put cyangenmod back on for now, so I have a working phone. But I will return to this an get it working
Really appreciate your help with this - Thanks
