well i got a new problem here.
so basically, i can't write any SMS. That problem occured after I installed the SLiM-rom. Now I can't write any SMS anymore (using the Stock Messaging App). It always tells me that "could not send" error... I've tried google messaging, didn't work either. But calling does work for some reason.
anyone knowing how to solve that problem?
#edit: I just tried entering an USSD code, it tells me that i no connection or invalid mmi code.
I ran into that problem as well after going through a few roms. I think the issues is not doing a full wipe/erasing user data before flashing. That should fix it.

Isn't there any other way to solve that problem? If anyone needs the logcat to spot the problem (and there are some errors, I just don't know what they mean), I can give it to you.
Hey!
I had the same error, also with SLiM Rom. Sadly, I can only confirm, what Nurmi already said, after a full wipe of data I was able to send SMS again. Trying to restore my data partition which i backuped via TWRP before i started troubleshooting, led to loss of SMS function again. Some people said, the problem could be PRFC 1.0 and lower. However, if you don't want to do a full wipe, try messaging app signal. It can also be used to send SMS and worked in my case, whereas stock messaging ap as well as hangouts didn't. Only problem here ist, that in Ultra stamina you can't send SMS either, because you can only use stock apps.
Hope I could help you.
Cheers!

So basically, I have to reflash the ROM fully with Wipe Data + Cache + Dalvik?
Kinda sucks, hopefully this problem gets sorted out somehow
As I said, you could try Signal for SMS messaging, but you still won't be able to send SMS in ultra stamina
Edit: also, I can neither confirm, nor deny that the problem is caused by Slim ROM itself
I faced this issue as well, but i did not use any custom roms. I have a UK Z3C and i had flashed the latest US rom. I was able to fix the issue by downloading the UK rom and flashing it again. It could be the US rom on a UK phone problem. I downloaded the ftf using xperifirm from flashtool and flashed them.
I faced this problem with prerooted CE1. I have no solution for now
First install any other messaging app from play store then make it default messaging app. After that open Sony messaging again and make Sony default messaging app again. This should solve the problem.

I do it the same . factory reset on .264 i dont lose my root. I restore all apps and data by titanium backup and sms working now . I change firmware many times from 4.4 and newer meet this problem before it was first time.
Still can't send sms
I hope someone can help, I updated from 4.4 to 5.1.1. Now I can't send sms, I can receive sms and mms and make and receive phone calls as well use the internet.
I've flashed back to 4.4, factory reset (wiped), pc companion phone repaired, reset phone again and updated to 5.1.1 again, tried textra, signal, hangouts and stock app. But I can't send a text. I've read about rooting and using other programs but I think it is a bit beyond my scope. Any other suggestions would be much appreciated. , it's not the sim , I've tried it in another phone and it works fine too.
Edit: I have a D5833 on telechoice in Australia.
Working out out slowly
Ok, so I got a hold of another phone today, it appears my provider (Telechoice,Australia ) may be at fault. I put a different sim card in my phone and it all worked as advertised, put my sim card in another phone and I get the same issues. Worst part is, is that this is the 2nd sim card now..
So what might cause 2 sim cards to fail with the exact same issues??

Hi all,
Just got my new SGS...
One small problem: can't send sms messages. Did correct the SMSC number in Messaging application (+27829129).
But, when I use "*#*#4636#*#*" to check the SMSC, I get a completely wrong number.
The same sim card work fine on previous HTC Touch pro.....
Any ideas on how to fix this problem?
(Using Froyo I9000XXJPM via ODIN [http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=807886])
Thanks,
D.
did this happen after you updated your phone?
i had the same prob, i had to wipe the phone to get it to work again.
Can you receive text?
Talk to your wireless service provider before you jump the gun and wipe everything.
When I had an issue with sending text (not receiving), my provider sent me a special text (with some settings). It fixed my sending issue.
Did a factory reset and everything worked.
THEN, used SMS Backup and restore to restore all my old SMSes - and it stopped working again.
Seems as if there is a bad "SMS" somewhere in the sms store....
Deleted all messages and everything is working 100%.

Guys I have an issue too, I still can't send any messages, I am on 4.1.2 REMICS, I even flashed old 2.3.6 JVU and it didn't work on it too. Do I have to call my provider and ask him for the instructions?
anyone experiencing this problem? I'm getting A LOT of crashes.
I'm not using any task killers what so ever.
Rooted or not rooted? Stock ROM? Custom ROM? Under what conditions does it crash?
Stock ROM and I have no idea what the circumstances are, it seems sporadic.
Hmm. Are you rooted? You could try fixing the permissions using the ROM Manager app if so. If not, perhaps a re-flashing of the RUU might be in order to fix it.
Hi!
I am having the same problem. My Acer Liquid E keeps crashing. It is reproduceable: when I log on the network the first call I receive is without problem, when I receive the second call com.android.phone crashes and the network is dropped (input SIM key). Then I can again receive one call without problem.
My phone is rooted (z4root) and I use Titanium Backup. I can solve the problem by resetting to factory settings. But it keeps coming again after a couple of days. Of course I would like to know what causes this but at first I would be very happy to know how to get rid of the problem when it is there ... Titanium is not so helpful:
When I restore the Titanium backups:
-I first restored my user applications plus settings without problems, after this everything still works
-Then I restored some of the green marked backups in Titanium Backup. After this the phone starts to have this problem again.
Does anybody know which backup this might be? I mean: solving the problem itsself would be great but at first it would be nice to be able to get the phone working quicker than factory reset. Maybe this could be achieved by resetting to an old backup with Titanium Backup (just need to know which one ...)
Help would be appreciated! Been browsing the net a long time and could find lots of ideas how to solve this but none worked so far.
My system settings:
-Acer Liquid E
-FroYo from the start (updated from .8 to .14 when I first had the problem)
-removed some apps from the rom - but nothing essential and I know that non-essential sounding things like maps or talk are actually essential. I removed things like twitter, roadsync, etc.

daniu, unfortunately it's unlikely anyone here will be able to help you as you have a completely different phone. This forum is only for the HTC Incredible S.
Hi!
I know ... but I am not really sure this is a problem of my specific phone. I read a lot about this kind of problems for many different phones. Mine is not really that common - but I think I will crosspost - thanks for the hint
Daniel
Actually this is also happened to my IS, running ARHD 1.1.5 with latest radio.
I notice this bug after i flashed my radio to non-stock radio.
I haven't try to revert back to the original radio, and the bug remains mystery.
com.android.phone FCs can be caused by incompatible older version sim cards. Try consulting a retail store of your carrier to check if there's a need to upgrade your sim card.

Hi!
I read about the old SIM-Card idea but I doubt it in my case cause the problem can be reinstalled with Titanium ...
EDIT: this link may be interesting for this problem.
Regards Daniel
I have had the same prob on virgin AU stock rom. Did factory reset and kept getting the same problem. Sent the phone back and they replaced it. Getting the same FC after about a month on the new phone :/
Hi!
I don't think that this is a hardware problem. That's why I think you can send your phone as often as you want. They cannot give you other software than the one you can get yourself ...

Daniel

messaging process will appear in task killer only when you enter the Messages application and then you press Home key, leaving the application to run in background, so this is not probably the solution. i'm just saying...
On topic: did you modify the SMS settings? proxy numbers etc?

thanks to all i will try your suggestions
BTW: is it right that the new gingerxperia v23 works only with the alfs kernel?

i had the same bug in stock. the first time i sent to SE to repair.
They didn't do anything, they just reinstalled the Firmware and cleaned the phone hardware.
2nd time it happened (before my x8 came from SE) i full wiped and no more problems since then.
I think it was caused by Go Launcher EX running on Stock, i don't know, but SMS only bugged when i installed it

Hi , I have more than 8000 messages on my phone. I have backed them up on my SD card and restore them whenever I flash a new ROM.
My problem is , that I can not use stock messaging application on ANY ROM I flash. It opens , I can see my list of messages , and when I try to open settings or open a conversation , it hangs/runs very very slowly and then stops responding.
On rebooting , it says I have ~2975 unread messages (which might be the reason it hangs). I can not even open the option in stock messaging app where I can mark all messages read. I have exactly the same problem with Chompsms.
I have absolutely no problem when using Handcent. It is smooth and easily handles such a volume of messages in the first go. But I prefer stock.
Is there any way I can use stock messaging ?
P.S - Do NOT ask me to delete extra messages. I already did a lot of them.
I also tried the same thing but stock mms will not work with any other rom

Is there absolutely no way out ? Anybody ?
Well, I had the same problem. And I didn't find any solution than use 3rd party app and uninstall stock message app.
Hi everybody, I've recently bought a new I8190N, about two weeks ago, coming from a rooted but messed up Galaxy Ace, I decided to don't root it at all just for now, but a few days ago, when I was texting my gf (with the stock sms app), all new messages I was sending were not sending at all, the sending spinner just stayed there forever.
Then, I pressed back and after a millisecond conversations thread became empty, saying "no messages, to write a new message... etc", so I tried backup sms's with Sms Backup & Restore and it did, they were all still there, but neither stock sms app nor go sms pro displayed them. After a reboot, they magically reappeared. From then, it happened once a day independently from how many messages I am sending.
Also, I read of similar problems on lots of other Samsung phones, but no solution was found all over the internet, so, is this a Samsung's Jelly Bean bug or could it be just an app that interferes with mmssms.db? Or a carrier related issue? :banghead: Thanks to everyone who will help me

Why don't you try a newer firmware with ODIN? As far as I know, first release of 4.1.2 had some bugs.
flash a newer firmware, or software update your phone.
for SIII Mini, I think you need a CM. stock is too buggy and slow to use
I'd try when I will be ready to start with flashing like I did on my previous phone, till then will try to bear the bug... the only thing is that on my NFC model I'll need to flash a different country firmware (if I want to stay stock) for N, or also the non-N firmwares will work? (Obviously losing NFC capability) for what concerns CyanogenMod, I like it but I'm more like a stock-lover thank you guys
I flashed another firmware (mine is from december while newest is from july), done a factory reset and when I restored SMS with SMS Backup & Restore, when it was approximately reaching the restored messages number of a particular message (a message I sent with GO SMS Pro containing emoji coming from the go sms emoji plugin) message app has crashed and bug happened again, so I revert to my origina FW but this time I'm not restoring that SMS. Hope that will fix my bug, because I'm thinking it was a corrupted mmssms.db database file... I'll see and post what happens so everyone having my problem will probably find a solution!
Ok, just appened again, don't know what to do :crying:
Flash CM 10.1

I found that the culprit was Viber, it goes in conflict with sms databases and causes the bug (maybe because it has the permission to read and edit sms) so after uninstalling it I've never experienced the bug again... it's a little bit strange I think
