Use any kind of themes on your Stock ROM!!!

Saurik, the long time developer of iPhone's jailbreak apps (Cydia, Winterboard etc) has released two apps today for Android systems, Cydia Substrate and Winterboard. Winterboard allows you to use ANY kind of theme (CM themes, Apex themes etc) on stock ROMs without having the required custom ROMs or Launchers for it. Just install Cydia Substrate, do what it says then install Winterboard, then you can install any themes, activate them, then just hot reboot then phone and voilá! It's a great thing IMO, very nice work from him.

Root access needed, and not every themes work yet, as they are still in beta phase.

yes, not all kinds of themes are supported yet, but it will get better

I tried it and I'm absolutly not conviced by these 2 products.
I installed them as described by you and the author several times on a Stok ICS (because I think is that one wich need most theming help) and I experienced lots of FC, freezes and lot of strange behavior (like : re-asking for my Google ID logon).
I tried to use some CM10 themes for experiences but after to many problems I lost faith. So I gave up.
Anyway thanks for the head up.

i tried it too and it's not working for me, only a laggy device and i can't change the theme i don't know why

sorry to hear that, did uninstall solve it? it works for me with apex launcher themes and a few Cm themes.

Maybe you'll have better luck with cm9 themes on stock ics rom than cm10 themes. Check out the mega cm9 theme chooser thread for the list of themes

I delete some crap apps and what u see in screenshots its comes with no any user edit and i add some perormance tweaks fix some bugs and add task manager make all thing google edition bootanimation wallpapers sounds etc. and like there is no 3 apk file like apollo apollo themes dsp manager there is google play music no necessery apps

Its final is stable means if u update it maybe port 4.3 and release V2 or port 4.3 camera or t9 dialer new versions can come and thanks ur good comments some people not kind like u

Focal is not completed project if cyanogenmod team release any update or make it stable i will release update package

Stable? CM says there would not be any stable release for international version of S3 (I9300) in there blog due to incomplete libraries and documentation from Samsung for Exynos 4 processor.
So I am wondering now...

No one can make rom we just make it better

I just installed this rom. I checked focal but when trying to change to video or something crash.

Beautiful theme. The best theme I have seen so far, I might just try it out. Usually not keen on using CM12 themes, this one however, may change my mind.

edit getting systemui force closes, mostly when entering landscape. using default theme it goes away, it seems this a known issue and will be fixed in the next nightly, or whenever this gets merged, http://review.cyanogenmod.org/#/c/90779/

why would you think that? it works with CM12 Theme Engine. CM is AOSP, the difference is there is AOSP and Stock

thx! that helped.
i removed the settings files and app files, launched themeengine when booted and got an instant reboot. from then everything was fine again

Little bug, font text color...
Hangouts, chrome font, file, and other...
I can't see the text..

For those that receive bootloops, this is an issue with whatever ROM you are on's Theme Engine. Specifically fonts. Applying the font change causes this bootloop. The fix will have to roll out overtime to latest nightlies. :angel:

Smh. Xda is still full of moochers that can't leave either feedback or let alone hit that like button. Will not be updating Xda version and will be taking down soon.

Well I am one to say that this is a really sweet theme. I'm using it on AICP ROM ! Thank you for your hard work.
** and to all those ungreatful, whiny, spoiled ass moochers you should appreciate what the theme developers do for this community. If it was not for them you woukdnthave what you have. Like I tell my kids , " you get what you get and don't throw a fit"

PLEASE NOTE: There is nothing in this thread that's suitable for stock ROM's. For un-locked bootloaders only.
NOTE: Please don't use the battery saver in settings as it's buggy.. Seems to be a cm thing but we're on it..
This is an UNOFFICIAL build from source which has been tested and the build is stable.
SlimRom is a "layers" ROM and themes for CM12 etc will not work in this.. Layers themes etc are available free from Play Store.

How to install:

Flashed,booted up, restoring apps. Functioning smoothly so far. Battery looks to be good, and initially was surprised to see the DPI preset at 280, but that doesn't matter much to me, looks much better tbh. Thank you so much

I set the dpi at 300.. Looks good.. Room is smooth and accurate..

As long as you have unlocked bootloader it shouldn't be a problem.

daily using this ROM now, nice! but have a bug with theming: tried several layer themes, themed everything except Messaging app and Settings background color (it's remains white, so on dark themes white font is unreadable).
and i miss "volume button answer" option

That is not something I know. I only have tried it on CyanogenMod Official builds.
I can only assume it might, I just don't personally run anything but the Official builds or my own Unofficial builds (that are not posted or really any different than CMs right now).

If you flash the snapshot on a CM13 NIGHTLY it will have issues. This is the whole reason for 2 versions.
One for SNAPSHOT CM13 builds and one for NIGHTLY builds.

Okay so..
A: I do not know what to pull to get the COS lockscreen with blur. That is why it is not listed as an included feature.
B: I will not flash Sultans build even for testing bugs. I ONLY support Cyanogen/CyanogenMod official ROMs or my own personal builds I don't upload or release anymore.
So any other ROMs.. They're hit or miss and I will not change my packages for them.
If you feel a need to change them.. You can easily do so with basic understanding of English and RAR (Play Store).
Sorry but I've learned the hard way about compensating for Custom ROMs. It gets too crazy too fast.
These are as universal as it'll get.

Need I any others libs put somewhere into system? Because cortana and even themes don't work.
Is cortana worth anyway?

You need to read.. Once you set permissions for Cyanogen Account it works fine

Thanks for the suggestion it works now !! Can you make a new zip without Max Audio in it, i tried deleting a few files but seems the libs got installed anyways.

Another way to find the files you need to remove is to look in the addon.d folder. The script lists every file installed, and backed up for ota update compatibility.
If I remember right.. All the maxxaudio files are in a group so you'd only have a list of what to remove
