Do you have this in actual resolution? these are 720p I think the original ones were higher resolution although the videos are fine
Higher resolution would be appreciated

I have following problem a few weeks now. When I record a video at 1080, the on screen quality when shooting is normal but when I stop and the video is saved, I get this (attached to this thread).
Mind you that when reducing to 720p the video play is fine.. Any help?

Uninstall update for camera. You have installed the update for camera that is not meant for M7 was for M8.

Yes
Thank you. Unistalling the update did the trick. I cannot understand though why I received this update in the first place. The phone is not rooted. The update came in as normal.. Why does HTC send an update to M7 owners when this was meant for the M8? weird.

I'm looking for an app to add slow motion effects to videos. The only apps that I've found converts the whole video to slow motion. I'd like to select a part of the video and add slo-mo.
Any suggestion?

Try trakAx! You can select the part to slow mo and fast mo!
Give it a try: mashinie . com / slow-motion-videos-on-android . html

that app has a horrible ranking of 2.8 with most of its reviews negative. more 1 star reviews than any other,

Don't take me wrong but do you really take reviews into consideration so much without even giving app a try by yours? I used it and found it good. Not a legendary work though but still that app works great

I do. I'm dubious about anything under 3.5. Unless its the only app with that function, I won't try it.

i always take reviews into consideration, but its not my final consideration. i did try it, and it works(to a point). id say the rating it has is pretty accurate as it is trying to push other things onto the user, besides the videos that they make for themselves.
I read reviews but not always. Anyway, back to the topic.

This module activates full resolution photo upload & google lens systemlessly in any phone.
Needs magisk v14.0+
Can be flashed from magisk manager v5.3+ or from TWRP recovery.

Haven't tried it yet but in comparison this Module has a few more Files in /sysconfig.
Seems 2 of those Files belong to the 2017 Pixel Phones.

I've recieved an email from google saying that my storage is nearly full, and that Google Photos won't upload in high resolution anymore :/

It works. It doesn't change name of the phone like the similar one we found in a thread which is now closed.
I could not share the screenshot showing under settings / Backup & Sync that the photos will be saved in original resolution without until 16th Jan 2021.

Dear friend, dr.bathman. I did a test and i confirmed that it does not work as i expected. Ok it saves in google account for free, BUT the resolution from your photos is lowered to 16megapixels resolution.
Make a test in your cell phone... Take any picture from more than 16MP... (My Moto X Style take 21MP resolution), wait for Google Photos backup your image to account... and delete original Picture in your phone... Now take a look in a same Picture in Google Photo backup... and voila... Picture is lowered to 16MP reducing resolution and quality.
Can you only make Google Lens available by removing "full resolution photo"?? Google Lens work like charm in this.
Anyway, Great job in this. Congratulations !!
Actually that is a good Question, altough i have no Problem because the 6P does only take up to 12,2 MP but I'm wondering what the repercussions could be on this from Google if this comes to their Knowledge.
Hi. I am interested in getting this phone.. But most of the camera tests I see online, the images are too dark. Also, strangely, although images are generally underexposed, they still somehow manage to blow out highlights sometimes.
I am very impressed with the camera quality apart from the issues stated above, but surely they are software issues and can be fixed with a patch or alternative camera app?

Everything can be fixed and by far improved using the GCam. Search the thread for examples.

I saw some pictures but they didn't seem hugely better to me.
Plus most apps need a root to install?
I wouldnt wan't to buy a phone and risk installing an app and then can't send it back if I'm not happy.
Do you know a link for some good picture and video samples?

There was one where the Stock camera was better I think.
But all the others the Gcam looked quite a lot better.
And does the Gcam also give better video recording?
