Android 6.0 worth it? - Nexus 6 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Got a rooted stock 5.1.1 with Xposed Nexus 6 right now.
I am wondering whether or not its worth it to install Android 6.0 because Xposed for Android 6.0 is out. Nothing that Android 6.0 offers is enticing to me.
Can anyone post a link to what google has done in terms of security for Android 6.0? There are 3 android 6.0 files right now in the firmware site.
Android 6.0 is so incremental that everything featurewise it offers can already be done with xposed or 3rd party apps. The only open question is security.
I really dont want to flash and lose my stuff to this. Battery life with my current setup is fine for me.

Battery life is a lot better as it goes into "Doze" mode when inactive. I'm sure there's more . It's also a bigger pain to root than before.

Marshmallow or Nougat ROM for Iconia 8 A1-840FHD?

Does anyone have a trustworthy source of a Marshmallow or Nougat ROM for the A1-840FHD? I don't want to go blindly downloading. This is my first root, so I'd love to learn from y'all who can be trusted.
Thanks,
Benjamin
I don't think so bro. I been searching for almost a year now, and all that I come across are fake L roms. I was tempted to try them, but forum searches told me they were fake and might brick your device; hence I never tried them. Plus if they were legit, those roms would most likely be found on XDA.
what's the best guide to root an a1-840fhd? 4.4.2 Kernel 3.10.20+ . This is my first android rooting ever.
Root Gide Acer a1-840 fhd
I wold love to see a Llolypop marshmallow or nougat To come out but the tablet is not very developed for

way 2 worked grate for me
I've just rooted my Acer A1-840FHD after having it for a while now, and I am also looking for a custom ROM, anything over Android Lollipop so I could have the ability to run more apps. Acer really should have distributed an update as the tablet runs at 64 bit and is capable of handling much more than Android KitKat, in the meantime, I'm using an Android Nougat launcher from the Play Store which doesn't really add any functionality, just looks. Every single website that I find is either a cash grab or a cash grab. Hopefully someone can make a custom ROM for this device soon.

Best ROM to flash on EVA-L09 ?

Hello guys, I bought my Huawei P9 back in December 2016 and since then I only used official EMUI 4.1, official EMUI 5.0 and I am currently using the NewWorld-7 by Tecalote, but I am now looking to change this.
I need you guys to suggest me the "best" if I can say ROM out there for the P9, kinda doesn't matter the version. Only a few notes: The ROM must have a working Camera, GPS, Fingerprint, Bluetooth, etc. (as much things working as possible).
Because I want the ROM to have as less bugs as possible I am thinking of installing the official ROM, probably B378 (or whatever the latest version was), but I want to keep my root access on the other hand, so I'm also thinking about dkionline's "mOOnlight ROM v1.0 B378 Stock", but the thing is that as far as I'm concerned, on Custom ROMs, the PlayStore isn't updating and this is important for me, because I am modding my games a lot and the latest version of the PlayStore is required.
One thing in EMUI 5 that I hate is the lockscreen when using Spotify. I have no problem about the thing being small (in EMUI 4 it takes the whole screen), but atleast the controls to be working properly (people who used Spotify and B362 or whatever the first official B3XX build was will undestand).
So well, suggest me what ROM to install

Possibly a dumb question about 8.4

Hi, I'm new to this whole android thing. I bought the R1 HD primarily for google maps via android auto. I updated to 8.4, but it still says its Android version 6.0. Does this mean it's still android 6.0, but update 8.4? I wanted to try out the latest android OS. Which I'm not sure if it is 7 or 8.
Yep, newest Android is 7.1.2, there is no way to get it on this phone, and there never will be.
"Update 8.4" or "Update 7.4.2" is referring to the ROM version that BLU puts out. 7.4.2 -8.4 all use android 6.0.
I'm waiting for the Sony camera support in LineageOS to get that sweet sweet android 7.
Thanks for the replies. I understand now, and also have been able to test out the new Android Nougat OS. I think I got it figured out. Thanks again.

New, Help Picking ROM, Getting Started

Hello,
I haven't really messed around with rooting or custom roms in years. But my phone is starting to feel a bit dated running Lolipop, Verizon's latest OTA version. I hope to keep it another 18 months though. Ideally, I am looking for something stable and close to stock. And with good battery life (the same or better than stock), preferably with the widely known "battery-dies-before-0%" issue fixed. Future support and security updates an added bonus. I would prefer something Oreo-based, but Nouget wouldn't be too bad if there is an issue with that. I wounder if we'll ever see any Android P roms on this device. These are all the 8.x Oreo ROMs I am aware of for this device that have been updated recently (past 4 months or so). Any Others? What would you guys recommend?

+ SailFish OS, but that doesn't count.
Also, where can I download, or how can I backup the stock Verizon image before tampering with it, so I can latter revert to stock?

Shouid I upgrade to EMUI 9?

So I just received the notification to update to EMUI 9.(new phone). But Should I upgrade?
I searched online and some people ,here in xda also , are saying that they experience battery drain. Is that true?
Is so should I not proceed with the update?
If I upgrade is there any official way to downgrade to the previous firmware?
Thanks in advance
In my opinion you shouldn't upgrade. The battery drain is real and you notice it quite clearly, it also uses more RAM. To me it wasn't worth it, I've gone back to Android Oreo yesterday.
You can update and revert back with HiSuite on PC, but you'll lose all your data once you restore the 8.0 ROM.
At first I was happy about the update of Android Pie. Unfortunately I have to say that I have regretted updating Android Oreo. Android Pie consumes a lot of battery and does not run as smoothly as before.
Currently I'm loading the 3rd Android Pie update (Version 9.1.0.215) and I'm curious if it works better this time. Android Q should be ready for us by the end of this month. If the Android Q does not bring any improvements regarding battery and performance, I will go back to version Android Oreo.
