I made an Xposed module to allow all third party covers to turn on/off screen automatically when opened/closed.
This mod was designed for Samsung devices using Lollipop (tested on S6 with 5.1.1 and on S6 with 6.0.1).
Compatibility/Requirement:
Xposed (tested on Xposed v75.8 and v80.0). You can find installation steps: here
Android Lollipop (tested on 5.1.1) or Android Marshmallow (tested on 6.0.1)
Samsung device (tested on S6)
Third party cover
2 magnets to detect cover open/close (like in official cover). I attached picture to show you magnet positions. You can use thin neodymium magnet (you can find cheap ones on a lots of e-shop).

Can you confirm you are using 2 magnets ? Put at right positions (see picture in main post).
What version of Xposed do you use ?
I did some tests only on S6 with Android 5.1.1 and Xposed 75.8.

Please, if possible, can a module be made to activate classic s-view lock screen on S6 Edge? As I can see there are no official s-view cases for edge variant (windowed screen) but I found some 3rd party models. Thank you!
just to ask, is the magnet position the same for Note 5?

I don't know if magnet position is the same for Note 5. But you can try to find right position by moving slowly magnet over the screen (at about 1mm).
When you find the right position, the screen should turn off automatically
Can you make version for 6.0.1.???
Was working on 5.1.1. like a charm...
Thx....

You said you are using the original cover. Do you speak about the official cover (samsung genuine) ?
If yes, you don't need this module. This module is only useful when you don't use an official cover.

Yeah, I'm using genuine cover, but it's not working on the idle kernel.
Thanks for trying anyways.
can you make it for note 4
i want to try this on a note edge with MM, added qi and had to remove the chip in the flip cover to do it, how do i install the zip in xposed? I tried to install the zip in recovery and no go, and i dont see a way to select files in exposed other than the downloads
I have another problem .
I think I have a genuine s view cover opening and closing works without problem but the touch function through the s view window is not working. If I use the S Pen through the window it's working but with the finger it doesn't work .
Original firmware and Custom TW Rom same problem.

Kernel auditor - Low memory killer - Very aggressive
If you install Gapps after the ROM has been booted for the first time you either need to wipe data and reboot. Without this Gapps will crash constantly. This is due to the new permissions-system in M.
CURRENT KNOWN ISSUES:
Camera (3rd party apps works)
HDMI
Marshmallow on my Kindle 8.9 before my S6
Will install tonight and report back
For an initial build, I'd say it works pretty well! Do you have any sources on GitHub? @BuQQzz and I would like to port vanilla CM13 to this device and its 7" counterpart.
EDIT: I tested it out, and in Snapchat (I only tested stories), the audio is incredibly choppy about half the time. This issue doesn't seem to occur when I play a video from the YouTube app. Also, multitasking seems to work pretty well. (For those curious as to how to enable it, add persist.sys.debug.multi_window=true to your build.prop and reboot.) I would say that the OS seems slightly more stable than CM12, even for an initial build. How did you manage to solve the issues with SELinux?

After the reboot, you have to look in the recent apps menu (turn off Slim Recents and Omniswitch if you have them enabled; I'm fairly certain the multitasking options are only available from Android's native recent menu). You should see a new button to the left of the pin icon on each window's bar. I'll upload example screenshots to highlight this button.
EDIT: I've added the screenshots in. Once you press the multitasking button, you'll get the window options, which should be self-explanatory (first two are bottom/top halves, or left/right if you're in landscape mode; the next 4 are for each corner of the screen; the last one is for opening the app in the usual fullscreen mode).

I did a clean install of this build, both with and without gapps:
Regardless of whether or not I flash gapps, a red rectangle flashes around the edges of the screen every so often.
When I flash with gapps, the system appears significantly more unstable. It stalls often.
When I flash without gapps, the system appears halfway usable.

Hi All,
As with my previous devices I've always looked out for the useless but still cool, screen off animation (remember the CRT animation on the old phones? ) as it has not yet been created for our device our only other option is to use Xposed.
Thanks to @zst123 for creating the Xposed module.
Cheers :good:
I've tested this to work with most ROMs, however it should work on any other ROM running android 6.0.XXX
Requirements
Root Access
A device running Android 6.0.XXX Marshmallow
A custom recovery (TWRP)
1. Go here and download this http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=3383776&d=1435601440
This is the alpha apk
2. Go here and download this http://dl-xda.xposed.info/framework/sdk23/arm64/xposed-v81-sdk23-arm64.zip
This is the framework
3. Go here and download this http://dl-xda.xposed.info/framework/uninstaller/xposed-uninstaller-20150831-arm64.zip
This is the Xposed uninstaller just in case you want to remove it.
You now have everything you'll need for now
4. Install the Alpha APK and reboot to recovery.
5. Once in recovery, flash the Xposed Framework, once installed, reboot system, this may take a while, a few minutes is not uncommon.
Once back in the android system, you'll find that it indexes all your apps, this is normal, allow it to finish.
6. Open the Xposed Alpha app and click download.
7. Search for and download the ScreenOffAnimation module and enable it under modules within the Xposed app.
8. Reboot your device.
9. Open the ScreenOffAnimation app and enable an animation. Reboot, again this may take a few minutes although it should be quicker than the framework reboot, no application indexing should take place.
10. Done and Enjoy
You will need to reboot to fully implement any new changes to this app, it also hasn't been updated for a while so the current version is v1.3, however it is functional and should work as expected.
You might be able to squeeze this whole process with maybe a few less reboots, however this is how I first did it and how it worked for me so it should (if you follow to the letter) work for you
At the time of writing the versions used are as follows.
Alpha APK v3.0alpha4
Framework v80sdk23 for ARM64 devices.
ScreenOffAnimation v 1.3
Any questions, please ask and I'll do what I can to assist.
Great idea, I loved this CRT Screen Off animation but I´ve stopped using Xposed a while ago. I remember having problems with it on Android 5.1.1 and I guess that it´s still buggy with ART ? If Xposed is the only way to get this old animation again, I will have to pass on this one.

exactly the same as me mate, I was avoiding xposed for so long but thought I'd try it, and maybe make a little tutorial to go with it.
up until now, no excessive drain, no issues.
I also haven't installed any other modules either. I'm very sure that this can be done without xposed , however until that time, this will do.
but I do agree with you. if I could get this mod without xposed I would.
there's also an uninstaller too so no need to worry
Xposed has been running great for me on 6.0.1

Have to say, after my first day. I've not had a single change in battery, hadn't even dropped by 1% overnight
This doesn't work for me. I'm on stock ROM and kernel with Xposed.

Had you already had xposed installed ? I can't see why it would make a difference so long as you're rooted, have twrp and can successfully install xposed. Also check your version vs the one I used.
I've never installed xposed on a stock ROM so can't comment but I'd have thought it would have worked.

Cat mod?
Also I'd have to verify if it definitely doesn't work on stock ROMs and find out why to update the OP. Might be the version you've got installed.
FYI, try Franco kernel. Apparently xposed plays nicely with it.
I don't mess with custom kernels anymore. Too buggy. The cat mod is a mod to flash over stock to give you the Cataclysm settings. It's not the full cat ROM. So no system wipe/restore needed.

Before anyone asking, S7 Always On Display is not so easy port, First we need all apks that managed it, second we need a framework to run it and third we need a custom kernel that integrate this function (absolutely impossible until Samsung release source code of S7 kernel). Even with all these 3 things it's not sure we we'll obtain A.O.D. , like we never get for example Night Clock function from S6 Edge.
UPDATE 04/03/16
I can confirm what I've said before. Things are exactly like Night clock, sometimes it popup out before unlocking so it need a kernel editing to properly running it.
UPDATE 21/11/16
Now AOD is fully ported. Simply install A8 Port ROM and flash Tamerlan Kernel 2.4 after you complete the first boot.
A little video preview:
Awesome job my friend , Albe95 ,
Even they will ask about AOD ,
Albe95 Add Note5 too its working there , , [emoji1]

Hi,
Trying to download this.
File is hosted on MediaFire... so you will taken to ads and asked to participate a survey, or to download stuff or to a message claiming your computer is infected by a virus and that you have to purchase a software immediatly.
I understand why the author of this post is asking not to share the file !
Anyways, once the page has popped-up, don't close it, go back to the previous page and re-click the download link.
You'll download the file.
Will see it if works... but doubt it (at least on my device).
I'll report here.
Regards.

Installed on Xiaomi mi5s Plus with Android 7.1.2 Custom ROM based on AOSP.
Device is not supported
Not a complain, just an information for those interested.
Regards.
can anybody else prove working?!
Post screenshots if you can prove that this actually works, otherwise nobody is going to trust this.
Also this Xposed zip has a bunch of extra stuff in compared to Rovo's latest one, and also seems to bundle some dubious looking superuser APK as well? Warning bells are going off here.

Easiest way to get malware on lots of people's phone? Release a fake Xposed.zip.
People will flash anything named XposedN.

I'm reading the code. If it's fake I'll let you guys know

Guys it actually looks real
It's using SuperSU's installation method to push xposed apks into the /system
That may be why it's named superuser.apk
---------- Post added at 12:51 ---------- Previous post was at 12:50 ----------
Well I'm not going as far as decompiling the libraries.
You can do that if you want to
Not working! Damn had me excited there for a moment
Fraud no xposed dont install report him right now... ?????
Be careful, I can not make the root on my device after installing this zip

Background:
Made by Zenith, Sony Apps Enabler is a ported version of Sony devices' framework files for any Android device. This tricks Play Store into recognizing your Android as a Sony device and therefore, allowing you to install and update Sony devices specific apps directly from Play Store.
For more info, please check the original thread here.
By using this module, you're able to use the following Sony apps:
Music
Album
Xperia Keyboard
Calendar
Weather
Sketch
Other apps by Sony Mobile Communications
Downloads:
You can download it from Magisk Manager or find versions for Magisk v12 and v13 here.
Note: The original version for Magisk v12 has a higher versionCode than the one on Magisk Manager for Magisk v13, so you'll need to reinstall it to make Magisk Manager keep track of it. I did this mostly for easier updating on the repo and to avoid breaking Magisk v12 installs as the v4 template is incompatible with pre-v13 Magisk.
Installation:
Download and flash the Sony Apps Enabler file through TWRP or Magisk Manager.
Reboot.
Clear Play Store's data.
Open Play Store and install your preferred Sony apps.
Bugs:
None so far.
Credits:
Sony for providing the apps.
A.R.I.S.E. Sound Systems and XOSP Community for essential files.
@darjwx, @shavendum, @Araib93, @flash- and @TechnoSparks for assisting Zenith.
@Zenith for originally creating this package.
@topjohnwu for creating Magisk.

For Magisk v13.x, I need to update the template to v4. I'm going to do this between today and tomorrow and maybe push it on the Magisk Modules repo.
For features and enhancements, check the original thread, I'm only repacking it for Magisk.
Because magisk uninstall, resulting in sony app is still inside, how to get rid of?
---------- Post added at 04:32 PM ---------- Previous post was at 04:23 PM ----------
V4 there are two, how specific how to use?
@matpower64 I tried flashing your module, both, for magisk 13.3 and both gave the same error, something like not a valid zip file. I figured out what was the issue and repacked your zip file. Then it flashed just fine but it gave me bootloop. I confirmed it after clean flashing everything from scratch. Without this module, my phone booted just fine but after flashing it, again bootloop.
Rom - PA 7.1.3 unofficial
Device - Falcon
Gapps - Pico
Magisk - 13.3

Hmm, could you get the magisk.log in /cache after a bootloop? The .zips were working last time I tested them, just wondering, do you get the same problem if you download it directly from Magisk Manager?

Thank you so much for the Magisk version @matpower64. But help plz! The Xperia Home and Weather app are incompatible on the Play Store. I didn't test others but I could able to install only Calendar and Keyboard apps.. Is there any way to change incompatible status for the other Sony apps? What could be reason of it? Probably a limitation, like Zenith said, some apps won't work. Still, at least I am sure that the weather app would work, try getting an older version from APKMirror and see if it installs. I would do some testing myself, but I'm currently without a phone.
As for updating it to Magisk v14, I want to do it as soon as possible, I'll probably see if I can borrow a friend's phone later to work on this, my ETA would be this weekend.
Is this supported for oreo? not seeing it on the latest beta
Kind regards
@matpower64 The template needs to be updated to version 1400 in the github repo as even on Nought it isn't showing up due to the minimum version being raised.
Sorry for the long delay, I ended up waiting until I got my own phone to do that.
Just pushed support for Magisk 14.1/14.2+ (template 1410) since it is almost hitting stable AFAIK, this should allow it to work on Pixels too. It worked on my Redmi Note 3 running LineageOS 14.1 and Moto G3 running AOSPExtended, I haven't tried on Oreo yet as I need to restore my backup, but at least, it is confirmed working on Nougat like it used to.
