Hi Folks,
I have an M7 and when I switch it on the screen remains blank. I can hear the beginnings of the HTC tune but then it cuts off and reboots and continues to cycle through the bootloop indefinitely until I hold down the power + volume down which eventually turns it off.
I cannot access the bootloader by power + volume down.
The red charge LED lights up when plugged in.
Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance!

Edit:
I might have figured it out, while I was in that red triangle / exclamation point screen, I pressed power / volume, then when the screen turned black (phone off) I let go of power and kept holding volume, and it finally entered the bootloader and RUU is now running. Will edit the thread again if that goes through. Leaving info in case anyone runs into the same issue in the future.
Edit2:
The RUU failed when the fastboot binary crashed on step 4 @ 96%, so I switched to a USB3 port and reran and it got through 100% without a hitch, now the phone is working perfectly.

Hi, my phone is s-off, bootloader unlocked, h7_wls.
I flashed 5.05.651.2_full_firmware.zip (to install the ViperOne rom - it says to update the firmware) through fastboot, running it 2 times as recommended. Then I ran fastboot reboot and the phone was stuck in a boot loop, the white screen with the HTC logo would appear, then the screen would turn black (still on as it has the IPS blue glow) then it turns off (full black) and turns on again to repeat the loop.
I've tried holding down volume + power until the home/back flash then letting go of power and holding volume, but the phone would just reboot without going into the bootloader.
I've also tried shining the LED from my other phone onto the light sensor and holding power for 15 seconds, which turns off the phone. If I turn it back on, it returns the phone into the aforementioned boot loop.
Doing the volume + power thing, and running the RUU_M7_WL_K44_SENSE60_SPCS_MR_Sprint_WWE_5.05.651.2_Radio_1.01.20.0904_2_NV_SPCS_4.38_003_release_393160_signed_2.exe file while the home/back buttons flash gets the phone into a black background with a red triangle / exclamation point but the RUU program exits with Error[170]: USB CONNECTION ERROR.
Typing adb devices while in the black screen with red triangle / exclamation point, it sees the device but says the device is offline, typing fastboot devices returns nothing.
I've tried 3 USB cables.
Not sure what to do next?
Thanks.

oh yeah this time happened to me as well
basically all your phone is doing is rebooting
you need to get it to power down somehow. I managed to force shut it down using the hold power thing and then held volume down and power to get to the boot loader
but if anyone is having difficulty another sure fire way to get the phone to shut down is to wait for the battery to die (may take a really long time)
Hello everybody,I have a HTC One mini 2 rooted with TWRP 2.7.1.0 above, all was very well , I wanted to update to 2.8.7.0 TWRP I recovered from my Samsung GS4 with rashr backup recovery after flashing it with rashr it's not boot, black screen and red light charging only, power +vol down not work, nor power+vol up, I can't even access the HBOOT, what can I do please?
Did you just use TWRP 2.8.7.0 from the GS4? The latest version of TWRP for the Mini 2 is 2.8.5.0. Try holding the vol up and power button for about 20 seconds, this might allow you to hard reboot. If it works, try to get into HBOOT by holding the vol down as soon as the screen goes dark
I did it and only the led go off then go red after 10 sec , it looks like it reboot to this black screen, can this flash erase the HBOOT ???
No it shouldn't, but it messed up something.
As soon as the Led goes off, hold the vol down button and see whether you go to the HBOOT
don't work
did you press just the vol down button or did you keep holding the vol up and power buttons?
holding power button + vol up for 10sec when the led go off (it's very fast and go red in 0.5 sec nearly) I just keep power button pressed and change to press vol down . I tested also to keep all buttons pressed, wel and others combinations none worked.
Don't keep the power button pressed, just the volume down button
Thank you mate but it's same result, the red light is on and the screen is black black as if he was being charged while it's disconnected, if I put it in the charger nothing happens, then when I manipulate to enter HBOOT (vol down + power , charger connected) red light goes off for a short time (less than one second) the screen display an empty battery with a charge sign, without charging percentage or green..
PS the battery was full charged when this issue become.
Then you should probably give it to an HTC service center
yup, thank you budy
charge it a little, then press and holt all 3 buttons. vol up, down and power for some time, 10-20 seconds. it should reboot
I've been charging the tablet for 4 hours. It still has a black screen that says fast boot in small letters. This didn't happen with the other one I purchased.
Does anyone have any advice? I want to give it to my daughter tomorrow!
Help!
If you've not been doing anything with it connected to a computer to install things I think you've accidentally pressed volume down when pressing the power button to turn it on.
If so press the power button until it turns off and then turn it back on with hands away from volume controls.
Hopefully just that
So my friend sold me his busted HTC One, telling me it wasn't turning on. I took it upon myself to get it fixed up.
It seemed completely dead, but after plugging it in to charge, and holding power + volume up + volume down, I got it to turn on to the HTC screen when charging, then turn off. I can access the bootloader screen by holding power + volume down, but the bootloader screen goes crazy.
The first option will keep selecting itself, then going back and loops like that. If I try scroll down, it instantly selects the thing I scroll to, which is either reboot or power off.
If I select recovery on the main screen, it boots to the HTC logo and turns off.
Not too bummed, as I only payed $35 AUD, but really would like to try get it fixed up.
Thanks!

Sounds like maybe the power button is stuck on. Hence the reason it is auto selecting everything. Also it would cause the device to force reboot.
When it boots to the HTC logo, are the Capacitive back and home buttons flashing at all?

Ahhh I thought that may be the case! Should be a fairly easy repair then. The back and home buttons do not flash at all.
I accidently removed my OS, and now I cannot boot into my bootloader.
I've tried charging the phone with it's OEM charger, and it stays stuck on the white battery charging screen until it dies again. I've tried doing it via my PC, and it charges, but I cannot do anything but boot onto the Motorola "Powered by Android" where it freezes, until I hold power and volume down, where it black screens, and restarts again. This happened after clearing my data and failing to flash an OS. After rebooting my phone, this happened. My bootloader is unlocked, but the phone isn't rooted. I've got a ROM that works, but adb is useless as my phone doesn't show up.
If you have twrp recovery Press & hold Power key& volumes up/down hold them all together.. Keep holding pressing about 10 sec or until you see little dim red light it's going to be left side upper speaker...once you see it don't let go of buttons for 8 seconds OK this is critical let go of the buttons & hold them again about 5 seconds,
TWRP recovery should show up.. If not repeat steps again. TWRP will show up.
