Hello Guys,
Yesterday I flashed my moto x "xt1053" with lollipop . After flashing I found a strange shadow of the kitkat navbar and status bar stuck in the screen. It is always ever present even in the unlocked boatloader warning during boot.
I thought the problem is because of me flashing the ROM in wrong way.
So, I flashed it again ==> didn't fix it
I flashed CM 12.1 ==> didn't fix it
I flashed the stock *.img files of XT1053_GHOST_TMO-RETAIL_5.1_LPA23.12-15.5_cid9_CFC.xml ==> didn't fix it
I need your help as this problem is bothering me. I couldn't find any one reporting this problem before.
I tried to add photos about the issue but it seems that I can't find how.
It might be a display burn in or whatever they call it.
it's samoled displays problem.
Screen burn in. Or more appropriately, less burn in.
Since the status bar and nav bars are mostly black they don't wear at the same rate as the rest of the screen. Hence the permanent difference in color between them.
Happened on my gs3 but happened even faster and much worse on my moto x. After a month from brand new I noticed it on my moto x.
It's finally reached a point where it's noticeable to you.
Never again amoled screens for me.

Dear note users,
Recently I encountered the second discoloration of colors on my screen, for example the center of the chrome icon and everything blue turns purple, this problem occurs in the entire os. I have also made a screenshot and after the phone magically restored the colors; it turned the screen off, because I wasn't using the phone and when I turned it back on the colors on the screen were back to normal; and the colors on the screenshot were also normal. So apparently the os sees the colors properly....
So what do you think is this a hardware failure (I am thinking it is), also if it is, does it fall under guarantee? And finally my screen is ok, for most of the time, but sometimes this error does occur. How can I possibly tell the guys of the Samsung service center something is wrong with the screen? I did take a phone with my point to shoot, but they could say it's photoshop or something and the photo is a bit blurry. Since I cannot force the phone into this situation I can't also make new photos....
I am using alliancerom v3 and speedmod k3, I also don't think the error was due to the rom and kernel, because both weren't developed when the previous discoloration occured....

R: [Q] Strange discoloration on my screen
I also had this issue, two times to be exact... I was worried that gpu was going to break. Do you have the gpu's voltages decreased?
Ps: I'm not saying it's a gpu problem (it's a simple thought) , so don't worry
Sent from my GT-N7000 using xda premium
Same issue
I got the same problem too. i thought im the only one...I agree with hom.hom.. it the hardware problem, FYI warfareonly, i tried to change ROM, full wipe and everything...the problem still occurred..as what hom.hom said it hardware issue..
some picture taken from webcam..
Yeah, with me it looks just the same; I suppose the problem is that you can't reproduce this issue. So the Samsung repair center probably won't repair your phone. After your phone went to sleep or you reboot the issue disappeared for me. Is this the same case for you, and have you checked at a repair center of they fix this issue for you?
Hello, i installed some months ago on my Fire tablet the CM12 Unofficial. I have only one problem: sometimes the display light cannot reach the max, when the bar is on the left the light is the same as the center of the bar. If i reboot the tablet this problem is solved for some days. I tried updating the rom but the problem is still there.

Likely an internal problem. Not much you can do other than contact Amazon for a replacement if still in warranty. If nogo could try flashing Xposed framework and a module that offers extended control over screen brightness. These are typically used to lower the minimum brightness levels but might offer some relief at the other end. Good luck.
Hello!
The display of my moto X ghost is messed up! It has kind of missing pixels dancing all over the screen. This problem doesn't occur when the phone starts up or I'm in recovery. It only occurs while I'm in the system UI. To be sure that it's a software issue, i took screen shots of screen and seen those on another phone. Those missing pictures were captured in the screen shot which means that it has ran into a software issue. I tried flashing a custom ROM CM 12.1 Nightly which made absolutely no difference.
Anything of help would be appreciated. Thank you!
Hi everyone
I recently bought a used Huawei P9 Plus at a bargain. At first, I didn't find anything wrong with the device. But as soon as brought it home and started using it, I found that the Google search bar and the home screen icons appear on the back of the screen when I open any app. I searched the internet for a while and found that all amoled displays were prone to this condition called "screen burn-in" and maybe I was also experiencing the same problem. So my query is can any of you suggest a working solution to this. At least can I bring the screen back to normal even a little bit? Any help will be much appreciated.
Thank you
Unfortunately no, it cant be fixed. It`s a hardware issue. I have burn in on my p9 plus (status bar and nav bar are completely white, with everything between being yellow-ish). If I crank up the brightness its not noticeable, but on the other hand, its really noticeable in dim environments (at night when the brightness is set to 0)
Please how did you get the burn in? I'm getting a new one soon. I want to avoid that.
had my since release, no burn-in!

While I am on lower brightness , I am not getting this issue. While increasing the brightness getting these black lines and also some sort of color discoloration with yellow tint also , Could someone help on this?
While on maximum brightness there is no lines are visible. Could someone help on this?
This is what android 10 does to the dispaly setting.downgrade to pie using odin to fix the screen. Back to normal,Basically in android 10 they changed the warmthness of the screen .I'm assuming you are using adaptive display and have the slider set to warm.on pie your screen would look everso slightly pink on warm but on the android 10 the screen looks yellow /brown at warm position on the slider,I made a thread complaining and ended up odining back,They have made it identical to the note 10 in terms of screen colour calibration. It sucks imo as for the black lines you mention I have no idea what that is
Please help me
Please help me
Have you factory reset ??
Next step would be to return under warranty .
Ive allready helped you just odin back to pie it fixes the issue
Happened to me as well. Display discolored showing grainy lines after recent update
I am on Latest build of Samsung Note 9 - India, with March security update on board.
I noticed that my screen shows grain whenever the brightness auto adapts to lower levels, it doesn't get normal until I keep it locked for some time and then unlock.
My phone is 1year and 3 months old however it has no issues in maintenance - no cracks, no falls, no display injuries.
I tried to keep the auto brighntess (adaptive) to off and yet this is happening occassionally when watching videos or pictures or simply pulling down the notification bar.
I also Factory reset it today and I found it is happening right from start - during the setup screens.
I am pretty disappointed something like an update is pushed and that breaks the quality of a device!
It's livable but very annoying when you are showing a picture to someone and suddenly you see the screen becomes discolored and there are grainy black lines all over the display.
I have only one hope if there is a way to go back to Feb or January build of android 10. Anyone else facing this? Please help me.
Have you sorted this issue @aronhq??
Is this a software or hardware issue. I also have this issue and i have been using android 10 from feb and got the issue today only though recently secutity updated 2 days back

I have the same problem at the beginning it was when the phone was warm now the screen is yellow and when I lower the brightness I have lines coming out
Temp fix
As a temp fix i am using oled saver app from playstore and keeping it on serting brightness full and adjusting the brightness with oled status bar so try it
My issue got solved on its own the same day..But now the issue is while watching video, it gets blocked images and slight color artifact when dark scenes play.I don't know whether its due to video compression and i didn't notice such issue previously.

Hi, any update for possible solution?
I just got the exact same issue. But my phone is Note8.
I was just watching youtube video then open an app then suddenly my screen turn yellowish and black turned faded. Also got horizontal lines if brightness is set to around 20%-70%. This happens right from boot up of the phone where Samsung logo appears.
Also I noticed that my phone gets warmer.
Mine still not back to normal.
Any update for a possible solution?
Thank you
