Hi,
I am having some issue with my LS991. I installed stock Rooted ZV5, set up everything and activate it on RingPlus. I was able to activate my device successfully both on the web and update profile (under system update). However, after updated the device, it rebooted my phone automatically to install necessary files. Then I was stuck in the "accessibility setting > wifi > accessibility" loop. I tried to Google and found out that it was known issue. Then I perform a factory reset under recovery. Everything seems fixed, but now when I try to perform Profile update, it gave me error and ask me to contact customer service.
Here are the steps that I have performed to try to fix this issue:
- ##MSL# > unable to perform it since when I switch to CDMA only mode, it shows no signal
- System update > update profile > "The profile update could not be completed. PLease try again later. If you problem persists, you may need to contact Customer Service"
- Try to reset by dialing ##72786# , but it does not ask for my MSL password, it rebooted. Just searching for signal
- Perform factory reset a few times, same result
- I put my TMO sim card in, and I am have text/call/data
- revert to factory stock ROM, no root
- upgraded to ZV6 (back to ZV5 stock no root, perform update via ADB)
- ZV6 stock, still same problem
If anyone has encountered this issue before, please advise.
Thanks.
EDIT: Fixed this issue by myself.

I was successfully running CM 6.0.0 for several weeks when suddenly i noticed my 3g data connection was no longer working at all. no icon on the taskbar or anything. it's checked on in the settings, but not working.
i have tried:
1. hard reset (pulled battery for several minutes.)
2. factory/data reset
3. airplane mode toggle
4. data toggle
5. reflash radio
6. flash a differnt radio that i know has worked in the past
i'm running out of ideas. any suggestions?
Try reflashing Cm6 over with no wipe meaning just flash the rom and reboot oh and u might wanna try wiping dev cache hope it helps good luck
Root-Hack-Mod-Always™
thanks for the suggestion. i had already tried those things without success. however, i was finally able to fix the problem:
1. nandroid backup
2. wipe
3. install fresh rom (or other asop rom i assume)
4. use wifi connection to connect to network
5. settings > about phone > update phone > update profile
6. data connection was restored.
7. restore nandroid backup
8. back to normal

Just FYI for future reference, the "Update profile" tool is only available in Sprint-based (HTC Sense) roms. AOSP only roms (aospMod, CM6, DD) don't have this tool, so for now you will have to nandroid back into a Sense/Sprint rom to update Profile and PRL each time you need to do that.
If you are with CS; they have been having issues with their data stream. Mine was acting up the end of last week.

Hello all
My rooted phone is going to service and I wanted to factory reset it before sending it. I relocked the bootloader but now that I try to factory reset the phone via the Settings meny, the phone reboots but then just shows me the white screen with the options "BOOTLOADER, REBOOT, REBOOT BOOTLOADER and POWER DOWN".
If I select BOOTLOADER I have an option saying FACTORY RESET but it just takes me back to the first menu.
Please help since I really need to send my phone back.
Realized that flashing the stock recovery might help and it did. Below is the link if anyone is experiencing the same thing:

So, what did you do to fix this problem?
I'm running Supersu 2.42 and latest TWRP recovery.
I rooted via instructions on this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g-2014/development/xt1064-lollipop-root-t2938051
Wifi on/off slider won't even toggle. I press it and animates, showing it recognized my touch, then it just slides back into off.
I tried all of the methods in this thread already: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2619553 , which includes:
creating/replacing file in /persist.img.
Doing a complete wipe, wiped cache partition and dalvik cache.
Restoring factory settings.
I also tried several wifi-fix apps.
Nothing worked. I've been at it for hours.
Please someone tell me I just did something obvious and dumb so I can be done with this disaster.
How do I get my wifi working?
Also, on the off chance this has anything to do with it, whenever I start up the phone it goes into a bootloop on the "Warning:Your bootloader is unlocked" screen. It takes about ten minutes of looping to start up.
I had the same issue on the xt1064. I wasn't able to fix it so I had to reflash and stay unrooted on lollipop.

Sounds to me it is a problem with the wlan driver module, try after attempting to turn wifi on, check dmesg output lines on shell related to wlan also you might want to check the output of command
Code:
insmod /system/lib/modules/wlan.ko
if it reports any error.
My wild guess is it is a mismatch between the kernel version and the module version and/or related to the whitelist it uses to load modules. Maybe your module wasnt updated or something bizarre happened. Anyways the commands above would give some insight.
Good luck.
I'm in the same situation
what did you end up doing? I have the same problem after installing a ROM of xt1033 (Brazil retail) in my xt1032, to upgrade to 5.0.1, My wifi toggle doesn't work, I'm in 5.0.1 but GPE, i have flashed the kernel and the radio, copy the .bin file in persist folder, but without the MAC adress because I couldn't know what was it, tried wifi fixer apps, wiped, nothing works,
what should I do? I've been 2 weeks like this, some help please...
Hi,
I've got XT1068, updated to 6.0 Marshmallow. In the past, I got it FDE (full disk encrypted).
Few days ago I unlocked my bootloader to gain root access on my phone using http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g-2014/general/simplified-modifying-boot-img-t3317605
everything went as expected, but by unlocking it wiped all userdata, so I wanted to re-encrypt the phone (and the external SD especially). But now, encryption fails, telling me "encryption fails, you have to reset your phone" each time I start the encryption, ending in a userdata-wipe.
So I thought about going back to stock fw.
After locking the bootloader and applying stock 6.0 FW, I tried again to encrypt the phone, but I am still unable to do so.
Can someone help me giving some suggestions, how I can fix that behavior and (mainly) how to get some errors/debug shown?
When selecting "encrypt now", the green android symbol with black background is shown for 5seconds, then the phone reboots, shows the bootscreen with the M, then it restarts again (after ~30minute) and shows after another 20seconds the message that something went wrong encrypting.
Ok it seems that I found out the problem in my case by myself.
Instead of using mfastboot.exe -w to delete the data and cache partition, I used recovery mode to delete userdata. I did it twice, since the first run, returns some errors.
After reset, I started the phone and got the fresh-install screen. I skipped mobile and wifi networking and did not entered google account details. Then I restarted the phone and waited for ~5minutes and tried to encrypt - everything works. Everytime I started encryption without waiting for some time it failed.
I hope I can save someone else some time, since factory reset takes ~15minutes each time you do it.
Hi
I have a very strange case with my P20 PRO 128GB Single Sim. About a week or two ago, I got a message that my phone found a new system update. I was very happy because I was still stuck on 9.1.0.311 because my phone never got the update to 10.
What was my surprise when it turned out that the update has exactly the same number that I have now uploaded to my phone.
I found that I did not have time to install the update yet, so I kept delaying it.
I was also supposed to do a data backup, unfortunately I didn't have time.
Last night my phone was updated. Unfortunately, it did not start normally after this update.
Constantly stops on the screen:
Your device has loaded a different operating system.
To learn more, visit:
http://zh.ui.vmall.com/emotiondownload.php?mod=restore
....
Your device is booting now ...
Then it goes to eRecovery.
I tried to do Update and recover system in this eRecovery, unfortunately after connecting to Wifi and trying to find information, I get the information Get package info failed
The Emergency backup option does nothing. The phone restarts and goes to the first screen Your device has loaded ...
I wanted to repair my phone via Fastboot & Rescue mode and HiSuite, unfortunately I get the information that "System restore is not supported on this device"
If I hold Volume Up + Power on the turned off phone, I enter the menu where I have the option Update mode and Clear data. In Clear data, I chose Wipe cache partition and then Safe mode, but it didn't help.
I wonder if by Update mode and, for example, through Memory card / OTG update mode or USB update mode, I would be able to restore the system and recover the data.
What do you think about it? Is there any chance to recover data (mainly photos and videos) or accept the loss and try to do Factory reset?
