Call Log with Google Voice - Xperia Z3 Compact Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I use Google Voice for all my outgoing calls and my current phone Droid Mini shows actual contact numbers in the call history. When I tested an HTC M9 it showed the GV routing numbers, very confusing especially when using it with the car Bluetooth.
Does the call history on Z3c show the phone number of the contact or the routing number Google Voice uses to place the call?

[Q] Google Voice And Caller ID

Has anyone else recently had a problem with Google Voice and Caller ID? Whenever my girlfriend calls it rings in as unknown. Also, whenever I call her it rings in as unknown. My brother said that when I called it rings in as unknown. The only commonality I can find is that we all use Sprint. I'm the only one of us that uses Google Voice. Anyone have any insight?
I have the same problem: no more callerID in and out
and I'm outside the USA so I can't even log into Google Voice to disable it

[Q] Google voice outside US?

Is it possible to get google voice outside US (sweden) today? Using JPH.
What I did was to get a u.s. based VoIP number and have that route to my cell. While this works to get setup and for dialing via browser or gmail it might not work for dialing out from the cell if the access number won't work where you are. Mine doesn't work from Canada although people dialing my GV number reaches me fine and I can dialout from gmail directly (with a headset). Funny thing is that if I initiate the call from web GV my cell will ring for the call back and it proceeds normally.

sipdroid+gv+ipkall

I need help on this i can call from my cell to landline it rings buts thats it. I have google voice a number and gv callback and sipdroid im stuck making calls. I dont even know what the cell number is would it be the ipkall #. What is the easiest way to do this for outbound or inbound or both? Im at Sipgate dont know which is my email address or password. Where would that be?

[Guide] Use Google Voice for calls and text while visiting another country.

I just got back from Toronto, ON and while I was there I needed my phone but didnt want to pay the outrageous roaming charges. So what I did was
Got a Mobilicity Unlimited plan (Special ATM $25, Unlimited province calls, data and text), All you really need is a plan with atleast unlimited (or enough) incoming calls, and a good amount of data. Depending on where you are going, Mobilicity, or Wind Mobile might be a good choice,. if you are visiting a Populated Canadian city.
Next since Google Voice calling (using plan minutes, not Groove IP style) does not work in Canada directly, I got a Skype Number(must be a US number) and unlimited US and Canada calling plan
Now I set this new Skype number to forward calls to my Mobilicity number in Canada (local 647 area code Toronto Number)
I then added my U.S.A Skype number to my Google Voice account.
Next I installed this app on my phone Voice+ (Google Voice callback) , this app basically uses Google Voice, to process a call, but it first rings your number that you set, then when you answer it calls the number you wanted to call.
So what is happening here is,
You dial a number on your phone, the Voice callback app intercepts the request
Voice callback app uses Google Voice to ring your skype number
The Skype number than forwards the call to your Local number from the country you are in.
You then answer the call (will show your google voice number.
Once you answer it would dial and call the number you first requested. It takes else than 10 seconds to be on the phone ringing the number you want.
,
People can also reach you by calling your google voice or skype number (and if they are in the US it would save them long distance charged). If they call those it will forward and ring your new local country number
Than of course you can use Google Voice to text as well.
Some might say, why not just get a data plan and use Groove IP. While that could work, you need a fast and reliable data connection for that to work, this method uses your actually plans minutes not data to call. If you are going to be on wifi the majority of the time and don;t constantly need your phone Groove IP or similar might be a better idea.
I just thought I would share this for all those who might be interested. This was very handy while I was visiting. And could theoretically work in any country that you get a plan with atleast unlimited(or enough) incoming calls (i have seen plans with limited outgoing, but unlimited incoming calls, and a good amount of data (for texting via google voice, etc).
Thanks for the tip.. Would save lot of money while calling my people..
Nice to see u here bpear (hi from HTC one X thread )

Problems with Verizon and custom roms

Hi everyone new to the nexus 6 jumped ship from the Note 4 after months without root or lollipop. I'm loving the nexus 6 Roms but have come across some problems leaving me with only stock or clean ROM available. Aosp Roms ex. Euphoria, chroma. No voicemail visual or regular. Whenever anything happens with voicemail I get cryptic texts repeatedly. Verizon support was no help. I thought maybe it was a carrier issue. Cm based ex. Candy, cm12 unofficial. Bluetooth audio is highly sped up and skips around when connected in my car regardless of app. Both problems have been driving me crazy. Any help appreciated. TL;DR aosp has no voicemail, CMs audio plays sped up.
the voicemail app that comes on the nexus 6 from Verizon only works with the factory ROM. and if you use Google voice for voicemail you have to disable advance calling (volte) for google voicemail to work cause it will just keep ringing on the other persons end if volte is enabled
Any ideas on cm 12s Bluetooth problem? I was trying to avoid Google voice if I could. Also does volte have to be disabled on just the phone or through Verizon?
Wow I did not even realize it wasn't working. This could be an issue. I hit *86 and had two messages.

For those of you that want to use Google Voice Mail just forward your number thanks to Red Leathermen for this:
If you are having trouble configuring Google Voice as your voicemail service on Verizon you can make the switch manually by dialing all three of these activation codes:
*71[Your Google Voice number] -- This turns on Conditional Forwarding, which should transfer calls to your Google Voice number*when your Verizon phone is busy or unanswered after 3 to 6 rings.
*90[Your Google Voice number] -- This turns on Busy Transfer, which transfers all calls that would hear a busy signal to your Google Voice number.
*92[Your Google Voice number] -- This turns on No Answer Transfer, which transfers all calls unanswered after 3 to 6 rings to your Google Voice number.
To Deactivate the Call Forwarding, dial *73 [Send]
To Deactivate the Busy Transfer, dial *900 [Send]
To Deactivate the No Answer Transfer, dial *902 [Send]

Does this fix also work with HD voice enabled?
Sent from my Nexus 6
Well it is working for me on a custom ROM. what's kind of odd is my wife has a note 4 and just got the upgrade to lollipop. She can no longer configure her phone too use Google Voice consistently.
we were screwing around with it for almost 2 hours yesterday. I finally threw up my hands and said this is a totally stock device take it to the Verizon store and ask them. Use Google Voice is in the settings!
But to answer your question yes. she can call me and if I pick up its HD. if I don't answer it goes to voicemail but it will ring 2 or 3 times extra on her end while it stops ringing on my end.

I've been using Google for voicemail with advanced calling enabled on my phone. I just had to reforward it by manually dialing the numbers.
I had the moto x before the nexus6 and google voicemail worked as in when someone called and I didn't pick up or gave them the dismiss button. since switching to a Verizon branded n6 with advanced calling enabled there calls just keep ringing when I don't answer or give them the dismiss button. had to switch to the voicemail app that came on the phone so that I can use advance calling.
