Best ROM For Snapchat Video
Hi guys, me again.
Can someone please help me, I love my HTC One but trying to film anything using Snapchat is appalling. Changing my ROM to a Google Play Edition has helped as its sped up the front camera but it seems to have made the back camera lag even more. The back camera lagged less on ViperOnes ROM but that seemed to slow down my phone so I thought a ROM for phone speed would help and the ROM I have now is great for that but as I said, terrible for Snapchat. So it's possibly a long shot but is there any chance there is a ROM that would allow Snapchat on my HTC One to record video better?
Thanks

Hey guys im having a problem with my camera , it records but when its time to play back it only plays sound but it doesnt show the picture can anyone help me ? please
hello?........
HI! you can try upgrading the radio but in my opinion the camera and video camera all suck anyway at this time. Perhaps once the 3D drivers are fully developed...
Thanks dude your the only one that answered and when i checked the how to revert back to oem rom thread i noticed that wasnt the latest rom so i flashed the latest rom on my phone and all the problems where gone thanks
i just bought GS I9000, its with 2.3.3, i see the camera has lag, when i click it takes around 2 seconds to capture, it annoying and the picture quality is not good at all, its so bad than my 2MP iphone 2g camera
its okay to have a screen collapse like iphone 2g, but the lag looks horrible
could some one tell if we can fix using a custom ROM, will the vodoo lag fix help on this, or if older firmware was better, so that i can switch back to that
i really need to use this for taking many pics and mail them, (child pics) so everytime i take a pic either its distorted or lagged
please help with your suggestions
Hi guys. Recently I've noticed a bad camera problem with my IncS. You see when I open the camera app ( on MIUI's ROM ) it lags pretty badly. When I point the camera at one direction, and move to another, it lags. But if I repeatedly click my menu softkey button while moving my camera around, it doesnt lag at all. Does anyone know a fix to this? Thanks in advance!
oh and I restored back to the original ROM I had running which was the official htc's latest rom for the IncS and the camera works fine. no lag issues. Seems like when I flash AOSP roms, the camera lags. help?
I find any AOSP rom has laggy camera in low light
When I take it to better lighting conditions the lag goes away
You're not alone mate
I think it has something to do with trying to take in as much light as possible when there is not enough
@markj338 yeah I actually thought that that might be a possible reason to its horrible lag, so I took it outside this afternoon at around 12pm. It was bright but still the lag was there. And just to be clear, its no ordinary lag. It's like if i point at one place, it shows that place, but when I move my camera away, it waits for around 10 seconds before it shows that place. If you get what I'm trying to say here.. Sorry for the horrible english. But yeah.. that's the problem :/ thanks anyway appreciate it.
Oh mine only lags a bit
When I move, the image will be slow and distorted and will take its time to focus
But not 10 secs, mine is like less than 1, its just choppy and distorted
I'm on CM 7.2
Mine could probably be classified as 'ordinary lag'
Like if you were using a crappy low range phone
What rom are you using, and does this happen in all lighting conditions?
@markj338 well right now im back on my sense rom. the official one. I restored. But I tried miui's rom, cm7.2 and the camera's the same. When I click the menu button repeatedly, then it's ok. but if i dont click anything, it lags a lot....... so yea
Strange.
But I do find the sense camera to be the best
Hello guys,
Wondering if you could help me with a pretty unique problem. I've shot a bit of video with my One with some pretty impressive results, I'm really pleased with what I can get out of just a phone.
However I have one gripe, the auto focus seems to be always trying to correct itself. I don't mind if I have to lock in focus from beginning to the end of video, I just want to try and stop it in video.
Is there a specific ROM or an application that I could run to stop it from doing this? I'm currently running stock GE 4.3

Click to collapse
No one? This is sort of a serious issue for video--we do not need aggressive auto focus in every single video.
I'm having the same issue... Any fixes?
Hello,
because i bought a new phone i gave my "old" Nexus 6 to my wife. Since a updated to Marshmallow i had problems with the camera. It stuttered while making a video. But i dont often used the camera, so i ignored it. My wife is Snapchat addicted and she can't make good videos with the front camera of the N6....it's like a slide show....the record is not smooth. I searched at the internet and a lot of people have the same problem since Adnroid Marchmallow ....
I flashed her CM 14, because i thought it might be a problem with the stock rom , but the problem remained. So my question is. Because i know i had not the problem at Android Lollipop. Is there anybody who had the same problem and solved it with flashing another rom? Or is it worth to try another kernel? I looked at the "rom forum" and found the "sky dragon 5.0 with a "new" kernel and probably i will try this. So my question is....is it a problem with the rom? is it a problem with the kernel? is it a problem with the hardware? What you expert think its the best way to fix the problem (i tried tips in the internet like diasble geodata at the photos or disable the battery safer for the camera app).
I hope you are able to understand my english. Otherwise i will explain it in other words.
Thank you very much!
Flash a factory image (will wipe the phone 100% but take it back to bone stock). If the camera issue is present on stock rom, stock kernel, with no modifications, then it's a hardware issue.
i have had problems with stuttering camera app before but it was fixed by resetting the phone. not really sure why after installing a new ROM you still facing this issue.
have you tried other camera apps? download a free one from the store and see its the same deal.
My first Nexus 6 had no issues whatsoever. When I had to RMA that one for the massive battery bulge issue, my second Nexus 6 had the camera stuttering issue. It would happen whether I was taking still shots or video. Obviously it was more noticeable on video, but it still made taking stills difficult. I took a video at the time to post on here to see if other people where having the same problem, but actually never got around to posting it...

Anyway, I RMAed that phone for the camera issue but then the third N6 had the same issue. I decided to live with it though since (a) Motorola has a really frustrating return policy/procedure, and (b) since two different devices had it I didn't think there was any guarantee that an RMA would fix the problem.
Fortunately, I've noticed that lately (running Nougat now), the stutter has mostly gone away. I'd say that for still pictures it has gone away entirely. For videos, I think it is gone as long as you use the stock camera app. I've noticed that if you use other apps, like Instagram for example, my video still has issues. In that case though, it's more of a constant refocusing issue than a stutter issue.
So moral of the story is... for me at least, it seems to be ok on Nougat as long as you stick to the stock camera app.
