Thanks you for the guide. Got the sexy white moto logo back instead of anoying bootloader meessage.
Thank you man,
Good morning friends!
Could anyone help me?
I have a problem at startup in Moto X Play.
After unlocking the bootloader my device does not boot more straight to the android system.
The startup always falls on the screen Fastboot start.
I've given recovery factory ... reinstalled the original system via fastboot ... I tried everything, including using RSD Lite to no avail.
I do not know what else to do. Help me, because although the appliance is working, it's uncomfortable every time I restart it he always fall into the Fastboot start screen
.
Sorry my English.

Did you test the online update? I still doubt it works. No one answered my question. But as long as I don't have the possibility to restore original state, I don't dare to install it.

I am in a custom rom (Bliss 6), not sure about update. Since flashing that logo.bin, on reboot just shows Android with white background, no more warning texts and also Moto bootamination.
All three logos working good after flash it, but bootanimation did not starting. I'm copy bootanimation.zip in /system/media/ and set permissions, but no success.

Pretty basic if you ask me not that a boot animation is really that important but you'd think they'd put a bit more effort into it.

Actually I did that. I have red boot logo at the beginning and then it changes to cm animation. What I did? I flashed zip from this OP ColorOs, but it was a crap (sorry mate) so I restored my CM11s from backup in twrp and voila!
So this means we can create custom bootsplash using (probably) the same method that was originally pioneered on the G1? (It also worked on Mytouch & G2)
Sweet!

Thanks for your help.
I'm wondering if there's any way for the logo.img flashing to be done as a flashable zip? I ask only because I flash nightlies a lot (CM11) and its hard for me to plug in all the time to do fastboot flash LOGO logo.img when I'm traveling for work like 80% of the time I know first world problems. How to convert the logo.img to a flashable zip?
Also is there any way for logo.img to be modified so the fastboot logo isn't Chinese but rather what it is in stock?

I don't know exactly how you do it, but I know you can make a flashable zip run a normal shell script. In this shell script you can dd the image to the proper partition... it's a bit sketchier though IMO..
Why do you need to re-flash? The logo partition isn't affected by flashing nighties. It should stick around between flashes.

No the logo is changed to the white boot logo after flashing nightlies.
The splash or the boot animation? The splash should be unaffected.

The splash. I've done this fastboot flash logo logo.img many times and it works, but once I flash the next CM11 Nightly, its gone. I have to keep doing this everytime, meaning I need to do it on a specific computer. Kinda annoying.
The animation isn't too hard to replace, although I'm wondering if CM's init.d scripts can help preserve the file.

There used to be a place you could stash it on removable media that would be picked up instead of the stock system bootanimation.
Anyone know if that still works?
Well, the partition where the splash screen is known. It's possible to make a .zip that we can flash with every nightly. Personally, I'm too scared to experiment with that. That partition is related to the bootloader, so it's very possible to brick our OPOs with a .zip to flash the splash screen after every nightly. Honestly, I'm just fine with having to reboot into the bootloader to flash the splash screen after every flash.

\data\local\
It depends on the ROM you're using though.
Typically works with all AOSP roms.
However, I've found that bootanimations don't seem to run fully with the OPO phone for some odd reason.
It's like the animation runs once, doesn't loop and then the screen goes dark until the phone boots up completely.
YMMv
Any chance to get the original, out of the box CM splash screen here from the One Plus one? Want to use it on another phone.
Thanks in advice

The bootloop have nothing to do with my bootloader files, they are completley stock from the ota file!
If you installing the new bootloader files on older roms you are asking for troubles.
Boot the watch in bootloader mode and flash the files as described and you watch will work.
Af if it bootlooping run a "Fastboot -w" after flashing.

Yep, just like in the steps, the thing did show a FAILED (anti-rollback) when flashing the 'aboot'. I just used everything that was on the zip, now the watch doesn't even show the LG logo, I've tried plugging it on and off and keeping the reset button pressed for a while. I really don't know what else to try.
I'm waiting for it to run out of battery, but I don't even know if it's "on".

By people, do you mean 1 person ???
Pretty unfair for other, isn't it ?
I am looking for bootloader files for the G Watch R to flash over what I believe to be a corrupt bootloader on my device. It will only boot when on the charging stand, and so far I have only been able to get it to boot to 5.0.1 successfully. Once the device tries to pull down the OTA update it reboots and proceeds to run the update and then it fails and powers off.
Currently I can access fastboot and I can get it to boot a stock recovery and twrp with the 5.0.1 boot.img flashed to my device.
Can anyone who has downloaded the original package from this thread PM me the files? I need to reflash my bootloader files to attempt to fix a booting issue with my watch. Any help would be appreciated and I will not hold anyone accountable if I hard brick my device.

Ok first things first: is your bootloader unlocked? if not then you can't flash/boot anything that is not signed by the Samsung/Google for our specific watch. So you can't boot into TWRP unless you unlock it. fastboot oem unlock will unlock it, but for security purposes, it will also reset your watch to factory.
Thanks Aligatror, it is not unlocked, i wish to restore to stock and I've tried to boot from external google//samsung recovery with out look.
Regarding the stock firmware i can't find anywhere instructions about how to flash everything and were to find factory images.
Thanks!

Which version did you download and what option did you select? Recovery boot message is normal when you do unlock since it erases the user partition. Select option to restore to stock or something like that in that program you downloaded. Just make you that you have version 2 and not 3.
I did with version 2 and 3 I do it by hand because linux script does not work.
I've flash boot recovery and system partitions included in the tool zip file.

Extract it and you'll see bunch of files "bootloader.xxxx.img". Flash all of the .img files.

Is the watch effectively bricked once that image is flashed? I've come across your post too late after reading about the tool. Used v3, told the tool to restore to stock, the watch boots its image fine but the bluetooth is definitely broken now (phone won't connect to it). I can get to settings to enable ADB on wear but I can't authorize my PC it seems, never get the notification on the watch screen to allow the PC. It's just stuck at the initialization telling me to Install Android Wear on my phone.

Its not bricked, but the bluetooth is not working due to corrupted file. You can flash v2 no problem. Just make sure to do reset after flashing.

Anyone get this boot animation of moto demo ? Or make bootaninatoin zip ? It is very nice.
Just to say I get 'alternate' android black boot animation by means of 'disabling' stock white animation. It looks pretty much like this, but I have no idea where it is stored...

I tested the script on newer boot logo files and it didn't work as it did on previous boot logo files, so I removed the project.
Thanks, been waiting for the boot logo. .I hate that bootloader screen..
Thanks a million!!

I've updated Moto Boot Logo Maker by @caitsith2 to include support for the Moto G Power.
Original thread here:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g/themes-apps/app-motorola-boot-logo-maker-source-t2848667
Logo image should be 1080x2300, and the max file size for Moto G Power logo.bin is 5320704 bytes.
When saving the bin file, make sure the device drop down menu is set to "Moto G Power".
It tends to revert to the "Custom" setting when opening bin files larger than 4MiB, as it wasn't originally designed to support files over this size.
A black screen with orange print appears instead of the normal warning screen when you have a custom logo installed.
AFAIK there is no way to modify or remove this.
The exe runs on Linux with Mono and/or Wine.
Wine is preferable as it supports image previews, while Mono does not.
I've included a generic android logo, an omni logo, and the stock logo in the attachments.
Feel free to post your own!
Instructions:
Code:
adb reboot fastboot
# or
fastboot reboot fastboot
fastboot flash logo logo.bin
fastboot reboot

Which phone did you try this? I got Motorola G8 power code name Sofia, its a newer Motorola phone, after flashing using ADB command given above didn't change anything to it.
Just wanna say this works perfectly for the Moto Stylus!
Thank you for this. Never would I have thought I could put one of my drawings as the boot logo.

Terminal output for your flash attempt would have been helpful, but I downloaded the Moto G(8) Power firmware and the logo.bin size is slightly smaller, 5160960 bytes, which is probably why the Moto G Power logo.bin files didn't work.
I've updated the OP with a new build that has support for the Moto G(8) Power included, along with android, omni, and stock logos for it.

Hello, fairly new to this with custom roms and such. Running havoc with twrp on my phone, when I try to boot into fastboot (fastboot boot fastboot) after installing twrp, it just boots into twrp for me. Can I flash the boot logo bin file from twrp, or how do I get it to boot into fastbootd when I have twrp?
You have to flash the stock recovery in Fastboot mode (Fastboot flash recovery) , and only then you'll be able to enter in Fastbootd mode.

You can change the extension from *.bin to *.img and flash through twrp with its image flashing feature if you don't want to revert to stock recovery.

Thanks for the heads up; accidentally deleted when cleaning drive.
Link fixed.
Bootanimation is fairly large (~200 mb) as custom rom bootanimation binaries aren't able to parse mp4 bootanimation files.
If I could figure out how to set permissions in the magisk module, I could include a stock bootanimation binary along with mp4 bootanimation files resulting in much smaller file size.
The link in the OP goes to a non-existing file.
Further, the zip file in post #8 seems to have no effect. I also tried a magisk debloater module that had no effect. Edit: debloater had some effect. Also, zip file is for a similar model, Moto G Pro.
My system is rooted with Magisk. I'm running the original shipped ROM, 10(QPMS30.80-63-6-8-5). Phone model is XT2041-4. Date on box is 2021-03-18.
My next move is to flash the .bin image from the post #8 zip file, using fastboot.

I wonder if something about my ROM (perhaps a newer ROM) has changed compared to what the original poster used. I also tried a magisk debloater module that had no effect.

I removed the link as I've made an updated version and haven't uploaded yet.
The file in post #8 is for the Moto G Pro.
You can download the exe from the github link in the op: Moto_Logo/bin/Debug
You can also try another updated version of this tool here:
MotoBootLogoMaker
Download MotoBootLogoMaker for free. Change Motorola splash screen --> logo.bin. Moto Boot Logo Maker for Motorola Moto Devices (4MiB, 6MiB, 8MiB, 16MiB & 32MiB) - All Moto devices supported Source Code: https://github.com/Franco28/Moto_Boot_Logo_Maker

Updated link in op
Thank you for your help. I look forward to trying the updated zip later today.
The other night (morning?) I flashed the logo manually and it looks good. Thanks for pointing out the #8 file was from the G Pro (same screen res as the G Power).
I really want to eliminate that stock boot animation!
