Bootloader
This rom is meant to be used with kitkat bootloader. If you are unsure of what bootloader you are using, you should flash the following zip within recovery (official TWRP recommended):
V50020F Bootloader: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24352994023707804
* Some stock based roms flash bootloader files without the user being aware of it. So just to be safe, I recommend everybody to flash the above zip to make sure that you are using all the correct bootloader files.

The installation went perfectly on a clean installation.
Huge thanks!

Same here installation is fine. Any way to make my sdcard work without a format?

yes, select portable storage.

Tried portable storage but said it was corrupt. Bit the bullet and formatted, had a backup so no biggie. ROM working great though.

There are two ways you can use your sdcard in marshmallow, as external storage or as emulated internal storage. Only the second one should require to format the sdcard.

I'm not sure why this is happening to you. You could try deleting the .android_secure folder in your external sdcard from recovery. That could be the reason why it says your sdcard is corrupt.

And I just did a clean installation of the latest CM12.1 today...
Thanks a lot @fefifofum! Downloading! I guess I'll go to sleep later tonight!

I tried to run Antutu but everytime it stops at 76%.
And adding a profile picture doesn't work.

Two minor things maybe; is a clear all recents button available somewhere and I can't turn off keyboard/touch sounds, I turn off the toggle but they are still on.

You goto keyboard settings and disable from there.

I too needed to format my sdcard (in portable mode) maybe filesystem related? I had an exfat fs now its fat32.

Installed yesterday. Enjoying now! Just great! Gamma is much better than in the two recent 12.1s.
Can't figure, though, how to make voice input work. There is a mic icon on keyboard... but nothing happens. Can live with that.

Portable storage works for me. I experienced some sd dismounts as on cm12.1. But in contrast to cm12.1 the external sd doesn't remount by itself. So I have to make reboot...
Otherwise everything seems work smooth and stable. Thanks for your hard work!

That's caused by the adreno blobs from flo 6.0 used in this first release. Now I updated them from latest qcom release and the 3d test in antutu doesn't fail anymore. So tomorrow I will release a new build with that issue fixed.

I think that the first issue you mention is an upstream bug, we have to wait for it to get fixed.

That could be related to android_secure folder in external sdcard, but I need someone to erase it from recovery and confirm if that solves the issue. If that is the case, what I really need to fix is TWRP, which should erase android_secure folder when you do a factory reset.

Gamma should be exactly the same as in my builds of cm-12.1. About voice input, it's probably an upstream bug too.

Maybe the new storage approach used in marshmallow makes the sdcard not to remount automatically, no idea since I don't have unmounts. I'm sure someone else will confirm this in the following days. This post is interesting, you should read it, maybe the easiest workaround is to use a different sdcard. What brand, capacity, class... is the sdcard you are using?

Enjoying it very much.
Only unusual thing is that the CWM recovery in this ROM doesn't allow me to mount the external SD card. So no back ups, installs or restores there - some of my nandroid back ups are 2GB and the SP only has 5GB of internal memory for the user...
Otherwise, working really nicely, thanks!

use kernel from other rom, as i know recovery are embedded in the kernel
Great job man! What took you so long? I thought you had it ready long before...
In Recovery i can not use my external SD Card! I'm worry about this, becouse this ROM is awesome. But i can not use it for daily, that is really really sad!:crying::crying::crying:
But, thanks for the Dev! Great job man!:good:
Sorry for my bad english
This rom is almost PERFECT!
I'm always a fan of slimbean ROM as I use them as my daily driver during my gt-i9100g days
The only problem is like what @Parkside has said, the recovery does not recognize external sd card
but that doesn't stop me from using this while waiting for CM11, because this rom is just awesome!
Thanks for this :good:
edit: found another bug,
got some problem with wifi I think, it can't detect or connect manually to wifi that is encrypted by WPA2-AES security. (that's what my windows 7 state here)
Other than that wifi is working flawlessly.
oh and also, the performance is MIND-BLOWING!
edit2: the wifi can't detect network that the encryption type that is ONLY WPA2 (does not care AES/TKIP/Whatsoever)
yay this going to be my daily driver right now woohhooo (so happy LOL)

change some settings on my AP and working well :good:
tested the boot.img (OP experimental) and now I can use external back in CWM.
All in all, working extremely well
Just a question though, the internal memory seems like it is being emulated.
I found that this rom use a folder (the name of the folder is"0") as 'emulated' internal memory.
The folder is created on the root of internal memory of the phone (which I can't accessed after booting the phone)
Weird? Dunno. I believe it must have it own reason

All AOSP ROMs does that it emulate internal memory cm, pac, aokp & all others use folder "sdcard0/0" ad internal memory not Just "/sdcard0"
It even effects recoverys you won't be able to restore any backup stored in internal memory up from folder 0

---------- Post added at 06:29 PM ---------- Previous post was at 06:26 PM ----------
You can access internal memory by using any root Explorer and go to root/shell/sdcard0 you'll get your stock internal memory and you'll see folder 0 as a internal memory for aosps roms

Friend, I'm testing your ROM and so far it seems that the best is based on AOSP, Your new kernel works perfectly, and the rom is very smooth, and battery'm still doing tests and I expect a 3 charge cycles ...
Inverted GAPPS is very cool, a great ROM, my Greetings
sorry for the bad english
Thx for the explaination regarding the internal memory.
Never noticed when I'm using the PAC nightly rom. Seems like I was far behind. Was using s2 but then had to use blackberry for some month, must be missing out lots of things in android world :3
Anyway, battery for me so far is about the same as stock. But the performance is much more outstanding of course.

Just amazing.I installed it now and it looks great, fast and with more features!!
Good job, and the new CMW with swipping and the fixed SD card issue is also great. Many thanks DEVS!:good:
EDIT:The selectable GAPPS installer has a bug though. When you go to the apps selection screen it flashed and vibrated for like 50 times and then the installation froze...
And with the non removable battery the only thing i could do was press the reset button which seemed to work after a few seconds.

The gapps issue must be from slimbean team itself, as the gapps is provided by them. I just use the basic slim gapps and works flawlessly for me. I never opt for AIO/aroma gapps.

We don't have an external SD slot.
Just use this:

Code:

Also, don't know if you manage the site, but if you give me a quick list of additional non-CM features, I can make it look neat for the Features page.

Hi @vedantgp,
I have run this great CyanFox Rom for the last 12 hours, it run good overall (except for rotation as mentioned). Very smooth.
Thanks.
I've installed this ROM and it's good but it gets laggy at times and just the rotation, since I love watching video using my phone, it's not favorable. Hehe, well. I'm willing to wait for the fix and will try to get back on it! Thanks for great ROM!

You need to update your recovery in order flash KitKat ROMs. The latest CWM (6.0.4.3) or Philz are the only two that will do it . I recommend Philz.

It might be helpful to manually format /system as well as I encountered a bootloop several times and solved it with the format in recovery.
EDIT: I noticed that e.g. Youtube videos are displayed about 10 times faster than normal what makes it impossible to listen to music or just watch a video. Is this a known issue or shall I make a logcat of that?

might wanna start start troubleshoot from the bottom eg. you are using n5120 rom ( yes sounds dumb but!! )
check md5 of tall the files, re download the rom, dont install gapps at 1st bootup just to make sure.
go to a working rom before reflashing. which recovery are you using.
some of these thing might not have anything to do with the prob but you wanna clear doubts as you proceed.
why dont you pull a logcat and send it to the dev.
id say that start from scratch, wish i could be of more help
best of luck
I am using the recovery provided in the op, other recovery didn't work and gave error.

Great Devs have been working hard for our little device. Hats off to them.
This thread aims to reduce flooding of queries not related to development in dev threads
so as not to hamper their work.
And hopefully not to flood other devices' forums as well.
Let's discuss here, provide logcats if necessary and report bugs to help the developers.

ClockworkMod v6 is mandatory to install CM11.
Download the latest full OTA build for cooperve from:
RC9: http://download.androidarmv6.org/_builds/cooperve/stable/
Nightlies: http://download.androidarmv6.org/_builds/cooperve/
Quote of dev: psyke83
"IMPORTANT!!! mandatory recovery
update required for cm11 builds later
than 23/07/2014
IMPORTANT!!!
As of 23/07/2014, all CM11 builds for the
bcm21553 series will be switched over to
the MTD flash drivers. In order for these
packages to work correctly, you must first
flash an MTD-compatible recovery (CWM
v6.0.5.2 or later only).
Don't flash the updated recovery until a)
you've backed up your data, b) the CM11
23/07/2014 build (or later) is available,
and c) you're ready to switch to the MTD
build.
How to update to MTD build:
Download an MTD-compatible recovery
(linked below) and a full CM11 OTA build
dated 23/07/2014 (or later).
Perform a full backup using the old
recovery (mandatory!)
Flash the updated recovery, and reboot
into the new recovery.
In the new MTD recovery, perform a data-
wipe, and manually format /system (this
step is critical in order for your partitions
to be properly converted to the mtd/
yaffs2 format - don't ignore it!)
Flash the CM11 package.
Once you've data-wiped and flashed the
initial MTD build, future CM11 updates
can be installed normally (delta or full
packages, as you desire).
Notes:
Older ROMs will no longer be compatible
with the MTD recovery and yaffs2-
formatted partitions. If you wish to use a
stock/modded Gingerbread ROM, CM7 or
CM9, you should wait until MTD versions
of these ROMs become available.
If you want to go back to a non-MTD
ROM, you must flash an entire stock ROM
(CSC+MODEM+PDA) via Odin, or else
your partitions will be stuck in MTD
format."

How to update (via OTA):
Please consult the cm-ota instructions on Jenkins.
Summary of major work done:
Forked broadcomCM devices into androidarmv6 repository (forked from ics branches).
Initial changes needed for cm-11.0 have been committed to cooperve, tassve, totoro and bcm21553-common device trees.
All of Broadcom's code has been adapted for the cm-11.0 branch.
After some reverse engineering of the vendor binaries, "adbd" and "init" built from source now work correctly.
ADB will now set the proper USB mode, can give a root shell, and no longer has a hardcoded dependency on /system/bin/sh,
which should help a great deal with debugging. We also no longer need to use the init prebuilt binary - the source-built version
is now compatible.
Implemented common kernel source for totoro, cooperve and tassve.
Implemented hybrid boot/recovery/charge ramdisk.
Fixed WiFi, Bluetooth, Bluetooth tether & mac addresses.
Fixed graphical performance regression on CM11 branch.
Fixed basic audio (speaker, microphone, software encoders/decoders)
Fixed GPS.
Fixed Gallery, wallpaper chooser, live wallpapers, RenderScript, and possible EGL crashes in other apps
Added workaround for SystemUI corruption
Fixed graphical corruption/stability issues (caused by buggy GL_EXT_discard_framebuffer extension)
Fixed RIL, telephony and audio routing to speakers, headset, earpiece, microphone and microphone mute.
* = this code is work in progress, meaning that it won't be available in OTA builds.
IMPORTANT NOTICES from the dev:
psyke83 said:
OK, I managed to fix routing and volume control while in-call. I've merged the changes and started OTA builds for the three devices, so that you can have a build with working telephony. Enjoy!
To see the build status (to know when they will be available from the updater):
totoro: http://jenkins.androidarmv6.org/job/cm-ota/390
tassve: http://jenkins.androidarmv6.org/job/cm-ota/391
cooperve: http://jenkins.androidarmv6.org/job/cm-ota/392
If telephony doesn't work in the tassve or cooperve builds, try updating to the latest baseband. If that still doesn't work, please send me a radio log:
Code:
adb shell logcat -b radio >radio.log

Folks,
If you're using Link2SD, Mounts2SD, or want a functional app2sd method, keep reading.
These applications are (IMHO) a little too intrusive to be used on my ROM. The main reason is that the apps install their respective mount scripts in a non-optimal location (/system), which can cause problems when you perform ROM upgrades. Link2SD is particularly egregious, because it overwrites a core system file with its script (/system/bin/debuggerd, which is needed by a system service), and this breaks delta updates.
In the past (for CM7), I always favoured S2E on my devices due to it being a much cleaner app2sd implementation, but it had some problems with corruption due to some (IMHO) unnecessary filesystem tweaks. Additionally, S2E doesn't yet support KitKat/CM11. With these issues in mind, I decided to release a fork of the application (called simple2ext_mod), which is focused on maximizing stability and providing support for CM11 ROMs.
I would strongly suggest that you give this app a try. If you're already using Mount2SD or Link2SD, you'll probably have some problems (as they will leave their mount scripts behind). So, it might be a good idea to do a data-wipe beforehand.
Here's the release thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/apps-games/app-simple2extmod-cyanogenmod-11-t2840295

Ggaps up from the usual 5830, here is the link 4pda.ru/forum/index.php?showtopic=531172&view=findpost&p=28339926. I advise you to remove setupwizard.apk, to avoid mistakes when you first start.
Cm 11 is a bit slow but in airplane mode it is fast
in notification bar it shows no internet connection and emergency calls ( blinking)
I think that is why the phone is slow

AICP is known by everyone as Ice Cold Project that started on Desire HD and since then evolved into a mature ROM with the BEST community you can find!!!
Until Lollipop, the rom has always been AOKP based. Unfortunately, since AOKP either stopped development or will make a comeback later this year, we changed our base to CM when it comes to hardware, drivers and some features.
If there are any bugs, either we will sort them or CM team if it concerns their modifications. This rom isn't CM supported so no need to report errors or bugs to them!!

1. Yeah,I declared the L"X"1 value to say that it is compatible with both L31 and L21.
2. AICP is "fatter" than CM since it has extra features,so no reason to panic. :silly:
3.I personally use the Pico package and then just install other Google apps which I need. That is the beauty of Open Gapps, you have several options.

@The Marionette thanks for this amazing work. There is some possibility that you can support the VNS-L23 variant? It is practically equal to the L31, with the only differences that do not have NFC support, the bands 4G are different and it has 2GB of RAM. Greetings.
Hey @The Marionette,
I flashed the ROM and i got error that data partition could not be mounted and then when i click to boot in to android the phone boots but it ask for password to start android...
What to do?
EDIT: After rebooting recovery the data partition is mounted again and i did a full wipe then flashed rom and gapps again but after boot in to android it ask for password again...

Someone on the question and answer thread had the same problem. See if any of his answers helps.

I have the L21 variant and it works fine for me. If CM works on your device,AICP will work as well.

Did you follow the instructions or did you do it your own way?
Are you coming from stock?
I think everyone needs to be on CM before flashing.
I flashed it exactly like I described and it booted.
The only downside is that the TWRP goes red(thinks the current ROM is stock) and data can't be mounted. I will look into it.

I followed Meticulus instructions first (did all backups and dump) and then i followed your instructions from OP but i come from stock rom, did not try to install Meticulus CM ROM... So now i managed to get past password screen by formating data partition to FAT and then formating it back to ext4 but now when phone boot i get "Decryption unsuccessful" screen and when i click "reset phone" button it reboots in recovery, wipe cache and then boots up back to "Decryption unsuccessful" screen...
I am downloading now Meticulus build to try with that... Will report back soon...
EDIT: I managed to boot AICP!!! By doing this:
First i updated recovery (did not see that Meticulus pushed V2) then i flashed Meticulus CM build but i got "Decryption failed" screen again but this time when i clicked "reset phone" buton the phone just rebooted to TWRP.
Then i did again full harcore wipe and flashed CM with open gapps and the phone booted in to system without problem, from that point i figure that AICP must work now so i rebooted back to TWRP, did another hardcore full wipe, flashed AICP with Open Gapps micro ARM64 version and the phone finaly booted to AICP
Btw i noticed few thing while doing all this... When i first booted CM my SIM card was not recognized but i figured it needs some time to get the signal or wathever but that never hapend and i cheked camera app and in setting of the app i saw that front and back camera was set to full resolution and the photo i took was really in full (13Mpix) resolution... After checking that and few more things i flashed AICP and at first boot my SIM still not working so i figure i will reboot and after second boot the SIM works again but in this ROM front and back camera are set to 2.1mpix (not a problem for me, just saying for ppl to know)...
Now i am going to play with this awesome ROM!
Thanks @The Marionette
EDIT 2: So after few hours of playing with AICP i been forced to go back to stock because my mobile network gone crazy, every 5-10 minutes it disapear and only reboot helps to get connected again and when network disapears the UI get so much lag that is almost unusable...
I can confirm that other things in ROM work as it should, fingerprint, themes, sound bar, navigation bar customization, lcd density, UI animations customizations etc...
Nice work and keep up the good work! ?
So I am running this ROM on my device since yesterday and I really like it. Seems very stable and allows for a lot of modifications.
It drains a lot of battery while listening to music when the device is locked but I also experienced this on the CM ROM.
I am keeping it on my device for now and am looking forward to new updates
Hello @The Marionette,
May I ask you if you plan to update the AICP ROM with the update from CM? Thank you
