What is the best kernel for miui 7 developer - Mi 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I am on miui7 global 5.11.6 beta. My primary things are mails, whatsapp and basic apps. No games at all. Please suggest me a good kernel without bugs.

I'm using moshi oc kernel with miui 7 for the past months
The combination of Alucard hotplug and elementalx governor is great plus it never gave me issues

I got the 4.9.26 from Xiaomi and no random reboots since I upgraded to the Miui 6 line at it's public release. It gets a bit slow and laggy from time to time so I manually reboot it, but nothing automated there. I got a CDMAW.
I don't like miui 6. Much less features than 5. Switched back to 5 soon.
Later found Ivan's AOSP rom is the best

what is this?
cm + kernel/tree/vendor specific optimizations
instructions:
flash firmware (if coming from miui)
flash rom (dl link in 2nd post)
flash gapps
source: cm-fk
this would not have been possible if it weren't for:
umang96, thestrix, banmeifyouwant, cyanogenmod, themuppets
rules: be nice & off-topic is <3 here.
latest release (cm14 ambient display back ported!)
Seems interesting. Will report back soon.

Nice, will try it, also, don't use uber/saber/other tc, stock one works best and very stable.

Yeah i was a bit skeptical on saber tc and all the other tc's and that's why i made my first build with the stock tc, but i might make a personal build later and compare.

Also try to do odex all apps, there is an unofficial odexed cm13 available for OP3 in xda forum, also, you can directly build with radon if you want, just clone radon-cm branch of my kernel instead of stock cm source.

I'll have a look into odexing during builds (idk if that's possible), but from past experiences, it does not really offer much, it just saves device storage space (which is why it was so heavily used back in 2010-2012 on those ~1gb internal storage devices lol)

Just flashed it, first impression the ROM is smooth. But would you also provide the ones compiled using UBERTC4.9 or Linaro4.9? I would be glad to be the first one who tried it. Even if it causing errors and whatsnot.
interesting project .Just curious, your build is base on snapshot or nightly cm13 build ?
If this rom uses radon kernel in-built for future builds.... It would be like a best rom+ will narrow down any bugs arising due to rom or kernel

As I discussed above, I might make a second build soon with Uber TC but optimizing all apks by hand literally takes me an entire 5-6 hours (of which I sit infront of my computer decompiling apk's and optimizing each and every .PNG inside of them then recompiling them and sending them to my device to make sure I have not messed up any graphics in those apk's, hence why this was built 23/8/16 but I only finished the optimizations by today.

It's based on the latest cm13 sources from 23/8/16 so I guess you could say it's based on nightly sources lol

Omnystal and Kernels In General

Hi all, I'm looking for the Omnystal Kernel and apparently the link for that kernel has been taken down on 4PDA. I'm just wondering if someone could upload and PM me with a download link.
Moving onto custom kernels in-general, we have a lot of discontinued and mostly unstable kernels. The least unstable of them all is AndroModX which was my goto before I realized it stripped 2 hours worth of SoT. I'm just wondering if someone could build us a stable custom kernel for our device, it would be much appreciated! Thank you for your time.

Ah okay, yeah that's pretty much the only thing a custom kernel would be good for since most AOSP/ Lineage ROMs default kernel gives acceptable performance; which is part of the reason for lack of kernels but if Darkness Killer is bringing out a new one that'll help feel the void.
I was getting the reboot bug using MIUI and Omnystal Kernel did fix it when it was available but now I've been using ycjeson kernel when I use MIUI as it fixes the issue just as Omnystal did.

ROM For Gaming???

Hey guys I'm on a G610Y and currently running on stock TW 7.0 ROM. Is there any custom ROM as of now (preferably Oreo or Pie even) that runs games the best and is smooth and stable at the same time?
Well , I am on Havoc Os and i play pubg, it works fine as long as you have good internet connection. Also, some j7 prime users say games performance is better in samsung Tw based roms, i have also seen lots of recommendation like Oreosama and Venom for better gaming or you can just wait for the new Veloxy Rom , developer wrote that gaming will be much better in that rom.

All of u making thread like this should consider making it in Q&A section
I am a compulsive flasher I have tried all the rom for this device and the best is xenos 2.0, there is no rom that is compared in performance and fluency, despite having so many extras is still very fast, I have tried all the rom and I end up coming back this. I hope that soon one one will come out that the games run smoothly.

each rom has its grace and really anseois 8 and especially 9 is very nice, but it is a shame that they have bugs that cause an unstable system, at the moment all Android 9 rom with oneui are not fluid, those with Android AOSP have bug with the camera and the worst on the unlock screen take 5 seconds to be able to respond, the Android 8 have nothing innovative and is xenos is old .. but com nova launcher you give another appearance also I have Ambient display that is the best alternative for our j7 prime since it has no AMOLED screen and this no other Rom TW STOCK has it, it has virtual buttons on screen in the notification bar. And at the end answering your answer .. yes .. is rom is very fast because it takes kernel srock and the front flash works.
