I know this is an old bug with google calendar.
Has anyone found a work around or fix?
I can't even do the old export/import method that use to work.
I have 13 months of back dates for individual events.
Re-occuring events, NP, fo 7 years.

The dates from facebook that go into my calender are showing up in my calender a few hours off. Ive tried other calendars, and it doesnt seem to help. Right now im using Pure Calender. An event on facebook that starts at 4pm is showing up on my device as 9am. Anyone know whats going on? Ive already tried messing with the timezone on my computer and facebook.
It's a timezone problem with Facebook. The only solution I've found is directly importing my FB events to google calender and just getting them from there.
How do you import the facebook events into google? I think I need to mention that the times only show up incorrect when they are on a widget calender that I have placed on my home screen. The actual calender itself shows them correctly, just the widgets ive used show them hours off.
I have this issue when syncing the TouchWiz calendar with Google calendar. My times is off by one hour, so I checked the timezone settings on both the phone and google's, but none of them were the issue. I still haven't found a solution.
I also replaced the Touchwiz calendar with the stock android calendar, but I still have the same issue.
Any other ideas?
I have same issue on my HTC Desire (2.2). Would be cool if Facebook added time-zone functionality for their events, or if someone made it possible to chose an off-set on your device for Facebook events before importing them into calendar.
You can export Facebook events and/or birthdays and import them into Google calendar with FB application called Fdcal (it has time-zone option). Application is not working flawlessly, I got my events to show into Google calendar, but couldn't export birthdays for some reason.
But this will not solve your issues, because there was no way I could get those events to show on my phone. In Gemini calendar you get an option to check on those additional calendar subscribed on your Google one, but they don't show in my phone either for some reason.
The only workaround I found so far is that once those event show in Google calendar, you can easily duplicate them (save them as Google calendar entries), and those will show once the sync kicks in.
I'm waiting for someone to come up with easier solution

i'm having the same issue, the event is 8 hrs late when it appear in my SGS calendar
Has anyone already solved this problem?
I'm having the same issue with my SGS and the XXJPO firmware.
Well I haven't done anything, but problem IS solved on my HTC Desire for quite some time now. Can't say exactly when it was fixed (or if it was fixed by HTC or Facebook), but event times in my stock calendar that is synced with Facebook are now ok.
On my Touchwiz-Calendar it's working fine, too.
Just in every calendar widget I tried so far, the facebook events are shifted by one hour.
So I am in the time zone GMT+1 but the event gets displayed like I would be in GMT+0.
As a workaround I switched the time zone in my phone to GMT+0, so now the times for the fb-events are correct, but this is causing other problems now.
Not sure if you have similar too.
I switched to Nexus One from a Hero in July.
Just now I looked into the Calender, it shows events back to only around June 2010 or so... all the events previously established, which I can find them on the desktop version of Calender, are missing on my phone's Calendar. Of course, I sync'ed countless of times of the calendar already.
Is there anyone who can guide me through on showing all the past events on Google Calendar on my Nexus One? I dont see any settings doing so.
Please. Thanks.
Maybe this helps you http://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=3672#c66.
Is it possible to sync calendar events that have occurred in the past to my phone? I put a bunch of info in the notes section of my calendar events that I'd like to have access to on my phone (without pulling up google calendar in a browser.) All the events (dating back to 2005) are synced between outlook and my Google calendar, however, the phone only pulls future events (or possibly up to 30 days prior.)
Thanks.
Does anyone have any ideas?
Help please.
I'm wondering if you found any solution to this? I have always had past events sync to my phone....but not now...
I just installed a new ROM on my Atrix which upgraded to Android 2.3.4 and now I only get 30 days past syncing. If I go back and change an event, then save it, it will show up...but I have thousands of events and can't do that to each one. I'm really hoping you figured this out since it's been a while since you posted.
Thanks
Hi All,
I struggle a bit with the sync (Kies) the calendar, contacts and birthdays. I guess I've managed nearly everything in the meantime, but the birthdays are still a problem. Since I have dates for them (since years) in outlook, every date comes from there. But the calender itself creates dates also, which means, I have them twice in my calender.
Any change to stop the calendar from making dates out of it?
Thanks a lot!
I've searched the forums around for a mention of this bug, but I couldn't find anything specific to it. I found numerous Calendar bugs and Calendar Replacements, but nothing this specific, and I kind of like the Samsung Calendar, so here it goes.
I have a regular International Galaxy S. When syncing calendars from Google, if you have a Calendar that has an event that happens every year, but started longer than 50 years ago (for instance, Christmas, New Year, some holidays), that event won't show up in the Samsung Calendar app.
If I change one year, it shows. For instance, if I create a repeatable event on 1961, it will show when the phone syncs up. If I create a repeatable event on 1960 or prior to that, that and the subsequent instances of that event won't show up on the calendar.
Is that a known issue? I can't find any sort of options to enhance the amount of years the calendar syncs from Google. That's kinda annoying.
Thanks for the help.
just wondering, why the hell would you want to create a 50 year old event? just start from a few years ago.

This lol. You're hardly going to be looking back that long ago. It happens the same time every year too so there's no real need, is there?
That's besides the point. if I didn't have a use for it, I obviously wouldn't care about it.
For instance, I have a Formula One calendar that has Ayrton Senna's birthday as a event. He was born on 1960, so the event was created on 1960 and it's repeatable every year. It doesn't show up on Samsung's Calendar, since it happened more than 50 years ago, even tho it's repeatable every year.
I also have a Local Holidays and Commemorative Dates (not the one provided by Google) with descriptions and starting dates. The start date of that event (when the holiday or commemorative date was created) is the first instance of that event, and it repeats every year. It also doesn't show up.
still there with 2.3.5
Same problem here with 2.3.5 JVS.
All calendar entries with start date longer ago than 50 years are not synced or at least not displayed. Seems to be an known but not yet solved bug that is limited to Samsung or even i9000 ( see google homepage, support/forum/p/Google+Mobile/thread?tid=389f1b50b42f7901&hl=en ).
Would be perfekt if anybody had a solution. I sync my Outlook via MyPhoneExplorer and without Google calendar. I don't want to use google, scince there are business dates that are not allowed to be spread.
Yes, and I'd like to add that there is memory error in SGS calendar app Event uses too much memory, causing FC of calendar, and I only want to set up the anniversary of the planet Earth formation 4.000.000.000 years ago from the space dust
any help, please?
