I have two LT30p phones, running:
CM12.1 Neo's Homebuild
Stock Android 4.1.2 (rooted)
I can't seem to be able to get #2 into fastboot mode, while #1 has no issues with fastboot.
#2 still has a locked bootloader due to the lack of working fastboot.
All operations are being performed on the same machine, so it is likely not a driver issue since #1 is OK.
What could be the issue? How can I get fastboot working on #2?

Not every LT30p can be unlocked. Maybe yours is locked forever, theres no workaround for this.
You're right, it seems to have an un-unlockable bootloader.
Found it by dialling *#*#7378423#*#* and going to Service Info > Configuration.

It's been a long while since my last flash.
I also remember quite clearly to NEVER TRUST the posts ppl make.
I won't get into details cause I'll bash in my keyboard.
If some one could confirm if the following is what I think has to be done.
#0 Root Device
I have Build Number 12.1.A.0.266
#1 Backup the original rom. ( Just in case )
#2 Unlock it.
#3 Flash Kernel with recovery mode enabled.
Which one? TWRP?
#4 Flash FXP303-cm-11-20140120-UNOFFICIAL-dogo.zip.
Is it the full rom or do I need to flash a main rom before then the above( update) ?
#5 Flash 4.4.2 rom?
#5 Flash Google apps.
Thank you in advance for your help.
Considering your device is from Fido, I don't think you can unlock your bootloader, which is needed in order to flash any KitKat ROM at the moment. However, you can flash CM10.2 on your device.
Say what...I need to unlock the boot loader?
The is no way to brute force it, delete it, wipe it, crack it or bypass it?
I found this on Sony's support page:
Instructions
First, you should confirm that it is possible to unlock the boot loader of your device by checking the service menu. In your device, open the dialler and enter *#*#7378423#*#* to access the service menu. If you have a tablet, click here to learn how access the service menu.
In your device, tap Service info > Configuration > Rooting Status. If Bootloader unlock allowed says Yes, then you can continue with the next step. If it says No, or if the status is missing, your device cannot be unlocked.

However, it should be noted that most (if not all) career branded phones cannot be unlocked. It sucks, I know. My XSP can't be unlocked either.
And if you can unlock boot loader flash the right zip. Not the dogo one, that's for another phone. Use huashan (I hope I spelled that correct).

I am not allowed to post on MoKee thread so I will post my question here.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2761807
I am not a newbie and have been following XDA for 6 different devices and more than 5 years. But I just didn't post enough.
I am currently on SONY Xperia ZR (C5502) 4.4.2 (rooted). I have been trying to flash MoKee 4.4x for the past few weeks but in vain. I bricked my device few time already by trying and have to revital it with all kind of tools (Flashtool, Sony Update Service, fastboot).
I guess now my question is - "Does MoKee ROM requires Unlock Bootloader?" In the last post of that thread, someone said that it MUST be Unlock Bootloader. Is that true? The only reason I care so much about this is because I screwed up my device every time I unlocked it.
I was using the "fastboot.exe -i 0x0fce oem unlock 0xKEY" method.
I am currently using 10.5.A.0.230.
Your answer will be really appreciated.

Yes just like any other rom out there you will need an unlocked bootloader. The reason is because you have to flash a custom recovery such as CWM and to do that you need to unlock your bootloader. I recommend unlocking you bootloader using flashtool instead of the command. Because it is just easier. When I was trying to unlock my bootloader I experienced problems doing it the way with the cmd. And what problems does it give you after unlocking and how does it screw your device? Thanks!!
PS: Try flashing a custom recovery because maybe your bootloader is already unlocked.:good:

I have installed -=[XZDualRecovery]=- with locked bootloader, so I don't think the reason is about the flashing of the recovery, maybe is something related with kernel flashing. but I'm not sure.

Yes, I have confirmed that it REQUIRES Unlock Bootloader to install MoKee.
I unlocked my bootloader with Flashtool this time, instead of commend line this time. That fixed the problem I used to have.
But I used the CWM comes with XZDualRecovery to install MoKee 4.4.4. It works out fine.

Good to know everything worked out fine.
Any custom rom requires boot loader unlock.
I attempted to flash and unroot my Nexus 6 via Wugfresh's tool, and thought it was a success. I hit 'relock' and now the device is bootloader locked with no OS installed.
However, I can connect via fastboot so far, but I am not very good with it. I think I may also be able to push files, but when I attempted to flash SlimLP the device just reset.
TWRP is still present on the device, but I cannot unlock my bootloader without getting a ROM on there... So I am stuck...
I need to mail this phone back in tomorrow for cracked screen, so I am hoping someone can help me. Thank you.

First check here... http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-6/general/how-to-nexus-6-one-beginners-guide-t2948481
Get the sdk tools and once set up, see if you can do adb devices and have the phone show up on the PC, if so, do adb push (name of rom file) then boot to twrp and install. If that doesn't work, check the same page above (since you don't have an OS not sure what would happen) try the unlock instructions for fastboot ( I would wait for someone else to comment before trying this). You might want to message this user http://forum.xda-developers.com/member.php?u=2872010 rootSU and see if he can give guidance, he has lots of experience.
Locked Bootloader
I still can't seem to get past the fact that my bootloader is locked...
Thanks though.

Try this: Reboot to bootloader, select recovery mode, enter TWRP, mount MTP and push/sideload and flash a flashable image from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexu...tboot-t3066052.
Flashing
Hey, thanks for the tip.
The link you sent was dead, and can you help me understand the commands for flashing in ADB with a locked bootloader?

Sorry my bad, here it is http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-6/development/fxz-nexus-6-recovery-flashable-fastboot-t3066052.
Follow the instructions as i posted, place the download rom in the /android-sdk/platform-tools/ folder and boot in bootloader and select recovery, select adb sideload there and type in cmd: adb sideload name.zip.
Unlocked Bootloader
The thread says they are for unlocked bootloader only.
I have TWRP installed, but for some reason at one point my bootloader was relocked.
So now I have No OS to 'enable oem unlock' to unlock my bootloader.
This is my issue.

It worked for other users, but hey if you have a better option try that.
I don't understand, what do you mean it worked for other users? The thread specifically states the bootloader has to be unlocked, and unfortunately I do not have an unlocked bootloader.
So I cannot fix this issue unless I either get a rom to flash with a locked bootloader, or somehow force unlock the bootloader

Look in this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/nex...bootloader-t3116744/post60931367#post60931367, he had the same problem as you (locked bootloader). I`m not a jehova witness trying to convince you to swap sides, i`am trying to help you here.
Thanks
I see, I was able to adb push /sdcard/. a factory image to get back in with a locked bootloader, thank you.

my phone is SoftBank 502SO X Performance using GENERIC GLOBAL 8.0.0 F8131 rom. i tried most of the fastboot commands i could find. everything just throws out "command not allowed" error except for reboot and getvar command. any help please? i also have OEM Unlocking turned on as well as USB Debugging and turned off MyXperia Find My Device. my bootloader is locked and the service code shows up with "no". i remember a few years back where i use this android 4.4.4 budget phone (also bootloader locked and will not be unlocked in any way) can do most of the fastboot commands (flash system/ boot/ recovery/ etc...)
if it cannot fixed in anyway, is there any rooting app specifically for android 6.0.1 - 8.0.0? i tried using kingoroot, kingroot. none of them can break through.
Any help would be appreciated.
yeah , i have that phone as well , we kinna get ****ed because unless there is a exploit there is no way to unlock bootloader . There is a exploit have potential it's cve 2019-2215 but i found no developer working on it there is a app based on it (qu1ckr00t) but it not work on all device and i have try to compile it but i don't have the skill to do that . And i have try contact sony to resolve it but they said no . So yeah hope in the near future there will be a way
Hey there community,
I've recently bought an used Asus MeMO Pad with the following data:
Model number: ME173X
Android version: 4.2.2
Kernel version: 3.4.5
Build number: ME173X_WW_user_4.2.4.04152_20140714 release-keys
As I want to get root access and maybe put some alternative OS on it, i wanted to unlock the bootloader. I'm using a Linux OS on my Laptop so I won't be able to rely to those windows applications for this case.
In general adb and fastboot commands work as intended via USB. With adb there are no issues at all, but the fastboot mode is where the trouble begins.
As I read in several guides for unlocking the bootloader on this device, there should be some kind of (even minimalistic) user interface where I should be abled to confirm that I want to unlock the bootloader.
On my device I only get a black screen with one white line at the bottom stating
=>FASTBOOT mode ...
fastboot devices detects the device and I can perform fastboot reboot.
As soon as I try to run any command that needs an user interaction on the devices screen (e.g. fastboot oem unlock), the shell on my Linux system is in a wait loop (guess it's waiting for devices response) and on the ASUS the screen remains totally the same.
Anyone of you any idea what could be the issue with this device? In Androids settings I've enabled USB-debugging, did I miss something?
Recovery mode is Android system recovery <3e>. I don't know if or how I could install custom backups with that one, only worked with TWRP yet.
Already thanks a lot for reading into my struggle - maybe someone of you could help me out of that.
I am following this one, since I have exactly the same problem.
I did try to unlock the bootloader on a Win11 device, but the tablet did not connect long enough to be able to unlock the bootloader.
Any help or suggestions to get a custom rom on this oldie via Linux would be much appreciated.
I believe your droidboot partrition could be damaged, it should be easily fixable with flashing ESP recovered from firmware files.
Regardless of that, im pretty sure you cant just unlock the bootloader like this, first of all you will need to upgrade to lollipop 5.0 and then flash modified bootloader, otherwise wont work, Asus does not support unlocking bootloader on this device unfortunately.
