Messaging - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S6

Is there a way to see when a person has read your texts, & is responding? Sorta like with the iPhones?

Only if the recipient has t-mobile and a device that supports rcs messaging

HELP: I can't get pictures messages on device says to look at pix and flix online

My friends D3 will auto send a text referring her to vzw.com for pix and flix viewing whenever a mms comes into her phone. She's already gone online and logged in but it keeps referring her to vzw for pix viewing. Anyone know why? It's her first smart phone and and she activated it over the phone because the store was sold out. Thanks

Looking for a text message blocking app, help..

I keep getting text messages from unwanted people (someone from my past) and i was wondering if you could suggest an app. I have looked at a few apps on the market but either they interfeer with my incomming calls where i cant answer or hang up or they require a monthly susbcription. I just want something that will block an incomming text from a specific number, thats it, no more no less. I am on a prepaid play with staright talk so going through my cell phone provider wont help. Any suggestions. Thank in.

Has anyone used the Nexus 7 as a full blown Mobile

Hi. I was thinking if the Nexus 7 3G would be good as a replacement for my mobile phone. I have seen a few demos on youtube and obviously you would need a bluetooth hands free "In Ear" type, but what about whatsapp, sms messages, emails, etc does all this work well ?. Just interested to hear back from people. I think the battery would drain quick having to have data connected all the time as well as bluetooth for phone calls. Any feed back would be great. Thanks.
There is no way to use as a phone yet, as it cannot receive true mobile calls like a phone can. Read the thread on this in the N7 3g dev section. Sms is working. For whatsapp, look in the themes and apps section of this forum, as there are install instructions. All the info you are looking for is already well documented and readily available right here in the n7 forum.

I just got myself a refurbed N7 on it's way... looking to do similar, but just for wifi.
From what I understand, since google voice and chat can pretty much replace a phone completely on my PC, I assume you should be able to do the same on a N7?
I tried to get google chat to work as a phone on my EEpad trandformer, but for that device there are serious hacks involved to get there.

for whatsapp, use your n7 and go to the whatsapp website and download directly from there ~ It works for my n7 ^^.
I was hoping to user my T-Mobile sim with Vonage Mobile until I found out T-Mobile block data for this device (for prepaid sim). I will have to try Go Smart next month to see TMobile also block it through that. I don't want to use Straight Talk due to their throttling.

I use Viber instead of WhatsApp
Since not everyone is happy using non-free apps, I instead use Viber on my N7.
Just as with WhatsApp, you have to go to their website to download the apk, since it is marked as incompatible in the Play Store. Also, you can not have it active on your mobile and your N7 at the same time. Which is the same as with WhatsApp.
I also couple Viber with MightyText, so any regular SMS I get on my mobile, I can respond to on the N7. Of course, I can also send new SMS from the MightyText app on the N7, or from my computer.
Been there, done that.

What is everyone's opinion on how the call quality is using 3g I have good and bad.. a lot of echo problems and such? BC I have thinking of doing this as well but I was considering the n4

It depend on the app you use. I use Vonage and I don't get echo issues like with Google Voice's clients.
Also I just sucked it up and go with the T-Mobile Mobile Broadband $35/month for 3.5GB. Will just disable data on my Galaxy Nexus since I only use it to make calls now. But I also found tethering 3G from the Galaxy Nexus to the Nexus 7 with the screen off doesn't use up much battery and can go for hours.
But can't you only call people that have vonage as well? I don't of anybody really that I would that has that... so it wouldn't be effective

I think PlayStore doesn't let you download Vonage on the Nexus 7, you'll have to download it from a phone then sideload it on the Nexus 7.
Using Vonage, can make free outgoing call within USA and Canada, it will use your actual phone number you activate the app with. It however do not receive incoming calls, unless the other side is also using Vonage.
Since the Nexus 7 do not have phone feature, when you activate Vonage on it, don't put in the "mobile number of your Nexus 7 sim card", put in your regular phone number, when you make outgoing calls it will display that number you activate it with to otherside, that way people can call you back to your phone.
Or if you want to receive incoming calls via Google Voice apps, then activate Vonage with your Google Voice number. I find that during activation process, when Vonage tries to sent an SMS text message with activation code to the Google Voice number, nothing will happen, but then you can select the option to receive the code via call, then shortly you will get a voice recording of the code if you log into your Google Voice account.
I like Vonage more because of better call quality and machines will recognize number inputs, which tend to fail through Google Voice's apps. Also Vonage allow free video calls now if both parties use Vonage app, though yet to be updated on iPhone version I think.
PS. You get $1 to your account when you invite someone and they download it through the link.
Line2 works great for texts and phone. It's only $9.99 a month.

Google Voice or Skype is very helpful to do the voice message. But for replacing the real phone, maybe we should expect the next generation supports phone calling just like the Asus padfone.

I have the wifi only nexus. I use a wifi mobile hotspot for Internet. Call quality is good. Texting works great as well.
I work in the middle east and use line2 to keep in touch with friends and family in the US.
I've used Google voice in the past but call quality is not as good as line2. Line2 is well worth the money.

I have tried to do this but it didnt work to well

Group calling feature.

I'm just wondering would we ever see a feature that would allow someone to set up a group of contacts and call them simultaneously. Example you want to set up a dudes night out but don't want to call everyone one at a time just go to the group you set up hit call and everyone in that group phone rings at once connecting you to up to 10 people. That would be a awesome feature IMHO.

I'm not sure that would even be possible. Unless the phone company's changed hardware on their side and allowed it.
That doesn't mean something like Skype or Google messenger wouldn't do it. You'd probably see it that way instead of making a phone call.

Hangout allows multiple video calling I believe.

Verizon MMS doesn't group recipients

Hello, I hope I'm in the right section. I have a Verizon Motorola Moto X, and I love the phone, but I have a concern. Whenever I send or receive group messages, the initial message seems to include everyone that it pertains to. Once someone sends a message, they are moved to their own conversation with just myself. This is with the stock messaging application. Is anyone else having this issue or have been aware of it? I would simply like a way to fix it without another SMS client. Thanks!

Mine operates as you would expect. Perhaps the sender is the culprit here?
Did you ever figure this out?
Every thread seems to suggest that the other people in your conversation are the problem. When I had my iphone 4s (4 days ago), this was never ever a problem with the same people.
Same problem here. Seems as though users from other carriers group fine. Group texts from another Verizon user comes individually. Really odd

I think I found out hats going on, its people with Samsung Galaxy's are the culprit, but when I flashed the eclipse blur ROM with the bubble MMS it fixes the problem, I hope vzw fixes this aoon
