Latest update for Dec 3rd completely broke my KNOX container. All my data is not recoverable.
Basically if you install this mornings update for the 910U it crashes the Samsung IAM Authenticator. Without this you cannot open KNOX. You cannot revert this update either. I ended up unenrolling and reenrolling my device which fixes the problem but completely wiped my KNOX container. Lost all my sensitive info including passwords, pictures, emails, calendar etc.
Are you referring to official, OTA updates or custom firmware (or both)?
Sent from my SM-N910U using Tapatalk
official OTA obviously (knox cant be installed with custom firmware anyway).

Okay, when I got my N 6 I mediately rooted and decrypted it. I did not take the OTA update. However, the alert keeps popping up. How do I remove it? It appears the OTA downloads location is different in lollipop and Nexus 6. I also cannot use Titanium Backup to freeze it or has the file name changed.
Sent from my Nexus 6 using XDA Free mobile app
OK I finally found where the downloaded file resides but I don't know what to freeze in titanium as file naming has changed. There is no system updates app/file to freeze.

May I ask on why you're not willing to accept the OTA?

I have custom recovery and am decrypted. Therefore, it won't install as well. Moreover, am not even sure what the OTA is all about. I just want to freeze any OTA notification.

The OTA contains bug fixes and whatnot. I recommend you just starting from scratch and accepting the OTA because its not like you plan on being on the first Lollipop build and staying on it forever. Its inevitable pretty much, yeah it isn't convenient but thats just how it is. Either that or flash a custom ROM.
The OTA is failing because you performed system modifications to /system/

I understand why it is failing: have been flashing for years. I wanted to freeze like I used to. Also there are issues with the current Roms as all things aren't working yet or are having issues (hdr cam, Google play movies, etc.) as devs get up to speed.
I also thought someone would have created a zip of the OTA for those who flash via custom recovery.
Yes, I can start all over as you say but I've got everything set up and humming along perfectly since day one... except for that damn OTA notification.

Hi guys, up until now, i have been using Package Disabler to ignore the mandatory AT&T updates that are forced unto my unrooted S6E. Unfortunately, package disabler has stopped working for me, and I've also heard rumors that the developer was asked to unpublish the app. If you guys know of any other way to block these AT&T updates, please share your methods to me. If possible I would like to avoid resorting into rooting my phone in order to accomplish this.
The current build/baseband version on my phone is: G925AUCU2AOF3
Due to this unfortunate turn of events, I'm afraid of turning my phone on and having a mandatory AT&T update install only to lower its performance.

if you've already taken the 0F3 OTA update you don't have to worry about root because you can't root that update.

Good call I didn't know that thanks
My situation is similar to the OP's. I just bought my S6 and it came with OF3. Since there is no root currently, I want to block any new OTAs and wait for a root on OF3.
I'm using the Debloater app from gatesjunior - which apks/packages do I need to disable to prevent the automatic OTA updates?
Thanks
Question has been asked many times over many models of the Galaxy S phones...... here's one I found with a quick search from the S5 forum (just ignore that it says use Titanium Backup to do this)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/att-galaxy-s5/help/stop-att-software-update-t2862076
Thanks for the response, KryptosXLayer2. I'm aware that this has been asked many times before (and I've had the SII and S4 as well), but it changes for each phone, and I haven't been able to find something specifically for the AT&T S6, so that's why I asked as I wanted to be sure I got the right files. I took a look at the post you linked to, but the software that was given were the names in TB and don't match the apk or package names when filtering in Debloater. So, I'm still unsure which ones I need to disable.

So 5.1.1 for the att Samsung galaxy s6 has finally been released! Now I do hope the memory leak issue will get addressed in this build, but I am wondering if we should avoid updating to it if we are rooted? I wonder how long it will take for our custom roms to update to this.
http://www.androidcentral.com/samsung-galaxy-s6-s6-edge-received-android-511-update-att
Well I hope someone puts up a .tar file for us to flash this instead of relying on the OTA. I jut do not like OTA updates. Something always seems to go wrong
Never had a issue when plugged in with wifi. Never DL walking around and still using phone. That is why everyone has a problem. Not sure if your case but throwing it out there.

Hope that the update comes out for s6 active soon and someone provide with a .tar file flashing with Odin

Settings -> Applications -> Disabled
Installing now - let's see how bad AT&T cocked up the update.
I have no apps disabled, non rooted, and still am getting install failed.
I did uninstall some apps when I first got the phone. Could that be causing the failed update?
Successfully updated to 5.1.1.. Seems a bit smoother but other than that, nothing big..checked if they added any sort of shutter control..nope

Has anyone tried to run older root methods yet to see if anything works? Sometimes with new OTAs, previous exploits are overlooked.

I think Ive seen it somewhere but cant seem to find it. Is there a wayto unroot or flash din files to take the 5.1.1 update. I am currently rooted and used flash fire to get to OF3. Can I just odin the oe2 files and take the update?
Does it have better performance than one of those ultra lite rom's? I am considering of getting off of my custom rom so I can take this update.
Hi,
I have sm920c and live in india. I was using samsung pay by downloading the latest fw and apk from sammobile. 2 days ago i received nougat update and thought of doing clean install thus i had to reinstall the fw and apk but unfortunately I get error while registering my icici card again (i tried my dad's card and it works). Don't know the issue exactly but as we all know sammobile has us version apks and indian apk has more features/offers like paytm, etc. So looking for the latest version released in India. Can somebody please share them?
If you rooted your phone, you tripped knox. If you tripp knox you can't use samsung pay. I assume you have rooted your phone, since you're on a xda forum. Your dad most likely didn't root his phone, therefore he can use samsung pay.

Well, nope. Neither I am rooted, nor tripped. I checked my dad's card on my phone itself. It is just that during my card it throws "failed to connect to issuer's server" error. I have done couple of transactions on 6.0.1 with same fw and apk version. Might just be server error only, i contacted bank and waiting for their response. However, i m more interested in indian version and never know my card will just work in new version.
What? So my Knox count is 1x1 then even u install official fw I can't use Samsung pay?

Even my icici debit card isn't working...guess there is some problem with the card.
All other cards are getting registered successfully.

Didn't understand your question properly but as per my experience with spay, if your regional device doesn't support spay officially, u have to sign up with early-access(if available) which links with ur device, imei and samsung account, only then u can use spay, otherwise even if u have sideloaded app, it won't proceed the welcome screen.

What I meant is, I am using custom rom and have rooted my phone. So if I unroot my phone and install official firmware then can I use spay? Once we root aur phone our Knox count changes, so does it matters?

yes, i matters a lot, spay is secured through knox. Once rooted, knox counter resets and so spay can't be used. I am waiting for a rooting method where knox counter remains intact :fingers-crossed:

Found Apk Files - Please check and let me know if it works.
Heyy Guys, there are 2 updates to share.
Firstly, I was able to add my icici card after a couple of days and use it, it was probably the error on their server only.
And secondly, I found APKs from sammobile, spay apk version is 2.6.14 and spay framework version is 2.7.31.
For me, spay framework couldn't be installed as I am on v2.7.38 and thus it failed to downgrade. Spay app installed smoothly but failed to run probably cuz of framework incompatibility. So I thought of sharing them with you guyz and if you are able to install them properly let me know if it works for you or not.

So...in that case there's a pretty fumbled hack i used. Actually, I had tried early access india page first and registered myself with sm920g and my indian mobile number..thus my number was registered and then i entered random numbers on uae's early access page. (I don't think they verify number). Voila!
Link to registeration site please.. mine gives an error saying invalid sim card after installing the above mentioned apk files.

No you still lose Samsung pay, Samsung pass and secure folder and OTA (but you can update through odin) because of the Knox being tripped to 0x1 (No reversing that) .
But everything else should be fine.
