Network Unlock Code - Xperia Z4/Z3+ Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I own a Sony Xperia Z3+, here in the UK. I had to send it back to be repaired under warranty.
Upon return, the device become network locked. I know originally it was and O2 UK branded/locked device. However, I purchased it 2nd hand and it was unlocked at that point.
Can anyone recommend a quick way to help me get hold of the required unlock code?
Thank you for your help in advance.

[Q] any idea for bootloader?

hi all, i search any solution to unlock my bootloader on xperia t with the famous message "bootloader unlock allowed: no". i see on different forum , sometime it's an operator pb and sometime it's sony. what do you think about this? and there is some dev whose work on a solution?
currently there is no way to do it. On other devices a test point method has been used but with an unremoveable battery that method is not available.
I am sure someone will be working on it soon, but it is early days yet

Spanish customers have the option to freely unlock bootloader through official Sony TAS. We only have to send an email indicating that issue and a proper unlock code for our branded terminal and in less than a week a carrier pick up and return our phone without that restriction.
Maybe in France this service is available too, try it! We use a sheet like this (translated):
Hi,
I have a Sony Xperia T which does not have a contract with any operator, as well as the proper simunlock code.
Thereby I request the unlock of the bootloader to change "Rooting Status: Bootloader Unlock Allowed" to YES and thus enjoy the same privileges that an unbranded phone owner.
Below are the information about my phone:
Model: Sony Xperia T
IMEI: XXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
SimUnlock Code: YYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY

Yep me too but never lose my hope... will retry later and i think to make a petition but we're all in different country so different service of sony. But if someone are interresting pm me and we will see if it's releasable
In the past Sony have only backed down when we have found our own ways of unlocking the bootloader.
The xperia range was never meant to be unlocked and the official unlocking was only released by sony after Blagus and the_laser found a way to unlock the device unnoficially. With the tightening of exploits and the unremovable battery my guess is that sony will not allow any more devices to be unlocked than they already do.
Many carriers (AT&T for example) actively do not want sony to unlock it. Furthermore, secutity has forced the removal of certain drm keys when unlocking so that certain functions of the phone no longer work.
A petition will do no good, IMHO, what we need is our own way to unlock irrespective of the whims of sony and/or carrier.
Untill then, be carefull which device you buy and which carrier you use.

ok but it's strange spanish guy can do that with their sony center or it's a joke
it's a little expansive but go on SEtool forum , apparently some people unlock their bootloader but you can't make it when you want because you need s1server online.

Not a joke at all, members of spanish forum htcmania.com pressured Movistar to totally unlock their Xperia terminals once finished the contract, and finally they gotted (in fact they got for all spanish operators, mine is Vodafone tied). Thats the reason we need to provide a valid simunlock code when we request Sony for unlock our bootloaders.
Sony's response to my request (in spanish):

I don't know if Sony is applying same politic on other countries.
Yep i try the same method in but sony doesn't make any support for the bootloader in france. It's a good luck for you

Bored to have a locked bootloader, I'll brake my phone and buy a new one with my warranty if no solutions appears in future days (I'll say that it was stolen and they money back me with the bill in return of a new one unlocked from any operator)

[Q] Which SIM Un-Locking Services for the Z

Hi all,
I just brought a Xperia Z on eBay locked to Orange UK network.
Does anyone know where I can get an un-lock code for the phone?
I don't mind paying, just want to find a fast and reliable un-locking service.
Many thanks
P.S. Orange UK needs the phone to be registered for at lest 6 months before they will unlock it. So its no go there.
Has any one used HtcCode.com?
It seems they can unlock the Xperia Z between 1 to 3 days for around £25.
I'd be grateful for any feedback on HtcCode.com.
I'd like to know that as well...
I got the unlock code but don't know where to put the code.. Any ideas?
when you insert another sim card ( other than the one from the carrier you bought the device from) it will ask you to put the unlock code
Is it possible to have free sim unlock?

[Q] Xperia Z SIM unlock options

About to buy a Sony Xperia Z on O2 in the UK. From what I've been reading, it'll be SIM-locked. Just wondering what my options are for unlocking the phone? Has nyaone used HTC Codes before?

Depends how you get it on o2.
If you get it via CarphoneWarehouse, then chances are the phone will be sim unlocked and also bootloader unlockable......However..
Like me if you get this directly from o2 then the device will be locked on both counts...BUT anyone who is on a monthly O2 contract can request to have their phone sim unlocked at anytime during their contract period. Basically just ring them and tell them and within a few days they'll email you your sim unlock code.
It worked for me, and have even tested with a vodafone sim.
OP, I will ask you to read the Forum Rules,

[Q] Unlocking SONY XPERIA Z from Three UK operator.

I've ordered Sony xperia z c6603 from UK. Seller told me that it was unlocked, but it wasn't. It asks me for a pin code when I insert a local sim card. How can i unlock it? And can i flash another rom for this phone and will it be unlocked then? Help please!!! I don't wanna spend me money for unlocking it.
The only way is to get an unlock code, either from the original carrier (unlikely as you aren't the original owner) or from an online seller.
Flashing another rom will not network unlock your phone.
I suggest you return it if you don't want to pay to have it unlocked, as it was falsely advertised.

When is android 5 (lollipop) launching for xperia z?

I believe sony said February would be the launch month for it unless I'm mistaken, i know it's not quite the end of February but is sony really going to be Mr last second and launch like at February 28 11:59pm?
They said in February they will push it for z3
Sent from my C6603 using XDA Free mobile app
You think that Sony would launch the updates at separate times?
Usually a update is "simulaunched" and would launched all at once
I think i read some time ago that Sony pushed their Z3 and Z2 update to March.
Either way, Z1 will get it later, and Z even later than that. I believe IF we get it by summer its gonna be really cool.
but i kinda wish we dont get it so soon, at least not before Google fixes the damn MEMORY LEAK problem. Kitkat is still more stable than L right now...
Damn if that's true and there going in reverse chronological order that means the Z is last.
Maybe I'd rather pay the 100$ and unlock bootloader...
Z will get lolipop after z3,z2,z1 etc...

**Oftopic** why would you pay $100 to unlock the bootloader?
Because every other Sony phone I've ever owned I always have to unlock the bootloader and I don't think it's very fair that T Mobile says that I can unlock my bootloader just because said I can't, oh and by the way when I say unlock bootloader I mean by a new motherboard, I had no idea that you can't unlock the bootloader by normal means on T Mobile's Xperia Z if I would have known this I would have never brought the T Mobile version

I have my C6603 (Xperia Z) from T-mobile. I had locked bootloader (Bootloader unlocked allowed : no). I asked T-mobile the SIM unlock key as my contract ended, and asked Sony Customer service here in Croatia if there is any possibility to be able to unlock the bootloader. They said to contact they offical service center in Croatia. I contacted them, and they did there magich and now i am able to unlock my bootloader (running cm12) and it didnt cost me anything
I would be not suprised if the Z4 is released before Z get 5.0 (a 5.0 already outdated)

Impossible, they said that a carrier branded xperia z bootloader is 100% fort Knox! Cannot be unlocked

I am an living proof than it is possible. also tought that it's not possible but they did it and it's 100%
Just think about it, they had to lock if, and if they lock it there has to be a way to unlock it
My my, if so you should definitely share your process here on xda because all the other devs said it's impossible. But I refuse to believe it's impossible.
Can you tell me what you did?

I told you... I also tought that it's impossible and my last optio is to sell my xperia z and buy unlocked one... Than i made my mind and send an e-mail to Sony customer service... That didint told me **** and they said that it's immpossible and bla bla bla. Than i found Sony Cro. facebook page, asked them if they could help me. Really nice people and they said that "Agram servis" is offical mobile service center for all cariers in Croatia, and that i should talk to them.
Ok, i send them an e-mail nad asked if there is a way to unlocked my bootloader, because my phone is no longer on contract, i had the sim unlock key from my carrier. And a reply came, they told me that they can't unlock my bootloader they can only make my bootloader unlockable (Woohooo, that mean's to change "Bootloader unlock allowed: no to yes)... and that i have to send them the Device, the receipt, IMEI, and SIM unlock key. I send them the device. ANd got it back from them in 2 day and voila, Bootloader unlock allowed YES ...
Hmmmm ok thanks.but it's a bit scary sending out my phone to anywhere. And I use it everyday, i also have no receipt as I brought it from eBay..but I'll investigate and maybe give it a try.
