Hi guys, im New to the nexus world.
I have a question bout multirom..is it possible to have marshmallow (chroma) as primary ROM and use a 5.1.1 ROM as secondary (flymeOs)
Would love to have both phones on my device right now I'm on latest chroma ROM..
If it is possible to make that like I want.. What files would I need and can somebody point me to a good primary kernel for MM...
Yes I did use the search function but I couldn't really find anything.. Only been seeing people using MM as secondary
Thank you guys
Why not? Everything is separate besides /data.
Ah okay.. I couldn't find a tutorial or so to make MM the primary ROM..that's why I been asking.. I love chroma and its stability ,but also would like to use flyme to trick friends and have best of both worlds..

Hi together,
with all the current ICS-roms the nearly factory-image-like roms are hiding behind the curtain and I didnt keep following the developments.
My question:
Is there any good nearly-stock-rom with root and any good a2sd solution?
Propably I only have to do a few steps for this, but I even can find a 2.3.6 stock image for the Nexus One.
Anybody here who gots the right thread in his favorites? The most important thing is the stock-like image, root is no problem, but about the several A2SD I do not have much knowledge.
Thanks in advance!
i think this rom OXYGEN1 suits ur needs.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1214543
its AOSP based. i used it for a month and had no issues
it doesnt come with inbuilt a2sd but does support it. so u can flash any scripts u like

There are 2 main builds right now in the development forum...Texacice's build based on Evervolv AOSP http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1366897....and BCM based on CM9 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1557606...both are great in their own right and personal preference will dictate which you use. Both have functioning HWA...have for a while now and both require BR partitions of 220 10 16...or close to that. There are a couple ICS roms out there that dont need a new boot partition, but frankly I wouldnt bother, as they are not complete full ICS roms. The only major functionality missing currently is video recording...although that looks to be close to fixed also. You can actually flash a new boot partition via recovery without installing blackrose. See this thread....http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1637166...and select the ICS partition and flash in recovery prior to installing new rom.
Correction: you do need BlackRose for that.
if u want to flash ICS roms. u need to first knw abt Blackrose. read it carefully before proceeding

ok thanks a lot to everyone, you all have been very helpful. these 2 roms mentioned are both "final" roms right? they're not beta, RC or whatever, aside form video recording that is annoying but i can live without it
btw i have root but i have the bootloader locked. can i still install br and do all the other stuff?
yes u can install with locked bootloader.
no they are not RC or beta releases. they are not final aswell, the devs are really working hard and pushing regular updates to make the rom better and complete.

hello, sorry to bother.
quick question
I'm using minimal os and since I'm a jackass I decided to use attack11 kernel.
Now i know that I'm running LP and that this kernel is for MM pls don't kill me YET.
I'm having troubles with the camera and just want to know if the kernel is what is causing trouble. idc about camera is not important for me at all, I prefer to use sweep2wake+sweep2sleep over the camera.
any way just wanted to confirm my theory and ask if there is possible fix or way arround these problem is possible :good:
cheers
looking foward DU mm rom hope it happens :fingers-crossed:
If you want dt2w use this one it should be compatible with lollipop http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g-2014/development/kernel-revkernel-wip-oc-uc-dt2w-s2w-t3055295
Hello there,
I am using a google nexus 6. I am on nougat 7.1.1. But from the October security patch my phone is too slow. And now i got an idea to change to custom rom. I want to know which is best.. Stock Rom or Custom Rom? If Custom Rom which one you prefer? Please help me to find a good one.
Thanks!

@pinkfloyd3: Your response was needlessly harsh, not to mention it being borderline flaming. All you really needed to do is report the post and the moderators would have moved it. So keep that in mind in the future, capisci?

There are no more official updates to the Nexus 6, so if you wish to upgrade the device further you will have little choice but to use a custom ROM. As for what ROM is best for you, that's a question we can't answer. The only thing we can tell you is to try them out to see which one is best for you. Now, as to what custom ROMs we prefer, let's rephrase your question so it reads, "If Custom Rom which one do you use?" as that is what you are actually asking. The responses you get will inevitably fall along the lines of "I use ROM X" anyway.
For example, I use Pure Nexus. It's not Android 8 although the developer has been working on an Android 8 version. However it has the right balance of features for me; it's not stuffed to the gills with features but isn't stock either. Naturally there are Android 8 ROMs out there, and right now the closest to Pure Nexus in having that balance of features is Validus. Even though Validus is officially still in beta it was a very stable ROM when I tried it out. So take a look at the ROMs available, try them out, and choose the one that fits best to you.

ok i apologize from both of you
@achchu93
In my opinion :
7.1.2 : PN (Pure Nexus)
8: currently sixrom v2.1 good for me !
sourcebuilt oreo rom : more stable
GZR Validus : not use it now if your phone is encryption ! you lose all you data
this is my opinion It may not be right
sorry for my bad english
@pinkfloyd3 : I am really sorry. I am not well experienced in this thread stuffs. I was in a curious to upgrade my phone. Thats why i posted here. Sorry if it bothers you.

Thanks alot for your reply. I tried Pure Nexus with Franco kernel. You know both of them impressed me in a great way. after flashing franco kernal my phone is working like a jet. Really happy with this custom rom and kernal.
But still i see lot of people supporting dark rom. It is customized version of Lineage OS right? What do you think about that?
LineageOS is "lipstick on a pig" (look it up). They used Cyanogenmod as a base instead of starting over, meaning they used a base full of untested code. Because of that, it doesn't touch my devices.
The LineageOS devs should have started from scratch. It would have taken longer to get up and running, but the code would be clean and tested.
Well, if you want to keep yourself updated with the latest security patches (and probably features as well) then for this ageing phone, a custom ROM is better than stock all day long.
I'm using Dirty Unicorns 11.7.2, since is most up to date and very stable. PN is a good choice as well.
Hello. Can i use android 6 on this model? And how can i fprmat it to f2fs? What recovery should i use? Please link the files needed. Then i can do the rest on my own probably. microG would be prefered. Some privacy rom. Thanks!
I need a backup phone for one thing, and need android 6 for that. I would appreciate some help.
I need a twrp version that supports to format from ext4 to f2fs. Anyone?
You're asking for quite a lot there...someone'll end up telling you to use search
Yes, you can use android 6 on this model, however you may find Marshmallow tends to suck the life out of it....making it annoying to use on a daily basis.
I've stuck with Lollipop for this, still kinda usable as a daily phone with not too many restrictions on installable apps and relatively easy to roll your own rom. f2fs is available on Lollipop too.
As far as I know there aren't much in the way of shortcuts to Marshmallow.
Are you on stock just now?
IIRC, the path is something like stock rom -> flash a kernel with root -> flash a released Cyanogenmod rom from yesteryear (think you can go straight to cm11 but I remember recommendations to do cm7->cm9->cm10->cm11) -> flash Lollipop/Marshmallow.
The Marshmallow rom I played with for a bit was

Oh yeah...and before you do anything else backup the efs partition/files....if you fluff it you get a generic IMEI which can be problematic.
