ZeroLemon slim power case for Note 5 review - Galaxy Note5 Accessories

So tbis case was provided to me for free from ZeroLemon. I do have a mophie case as well. I have been using this case for a few days. I must say i like it better than mophie case. The battery plugs into your phone and then the tpu case it doesn't add to much bulk. When you charge it it charges phone then battery pack. Ive gotten 1 full day of battery and that's using it to the max.. I recommend this case especially for power users and the price is right. Im definitely selling my mophie..

How is this one in thickness and weight compared to the mophie? I have the Mophie now, but would consider this one instead.

Weight is alot heavier not bad

When you use your mophie do you charge at 20 percent or leave the switch always on

I usually turn the mophie on once I am down to around 30%. It does seem to be pretty consistent in increasing the battery life by about 60%. Ie, if my battery is at 35% and I turn the Mophie on, it will get me up to 95%.

Zerolemon said they have a 8500mah coming out at the end of this month. The one out now is only 3500mah. You might want to wait for the bigger one.

They no longer have the first one on Amazon plus I wouldn't want my note to be too bulky.

How do people like op get free stuff to review? No offense but the grammar is atrocious.

I bought this case but I'm having a problem with it. If I connect it to my wall fast charger my phone will charge but the case battery won't. However if I plug into a regular charger both will charge. I plugged into my wall charger overnight 3 nights in a row and woke up with the phone fully charged and the case battery dead. Has anyone noticed this also. Seems that if you use a fast charger it will fast charge the phone but will not charge the case.

Well I just got 2 of them in, and took some good shots of them. Marking them in the pictures.
Check the gallery for the links. Also, the fake battery doesn't fit with the normal back case.
*note* I knew I wasn't exactly getting legit batteries, so $11.98 wasn't a big loss

This battery blows, it really does. I want to try the other 1800 mAh variety I've seen around. Instinct tells me it's probably garbage as well, but it's worth a shot I suppose. I think I'm going to start a battery review thread for the Incredible as soon as I get around to testing the ones I have (stock, OEM 1500 mAh, this one and the OEM 2150 mAh). Too many people have the same questions about the same batteries.

I like this idea a lot
HTC Incredible
I also ordered this battery. It's about the same as the stock battery life for me. I may try to order an OEM 1500 here soon. I heard the 1800's on amazon are legit (not OEM, but work). But they don't allow you to just order the battery. You have to get 2, plus a charger.
Yuppers - I also just got my 2 and to be honest they kinda fit ;-)
I can get them into the phone and snap the top and bottom of the rear cover down but not the sides. I have been using a BodyGlove case that snaps shut so it holds things together. Since I am using the hard shell BG case I may try to remove the back plate completely and see what happens....but like you said $12 is not life changing.
For those that LIED about these batteries simply 'fitting' with the rear case and working - please do me a favor and go screw yourselves.....liars.

I was able to get my 1800 from that ebay seller to fit. I hate to push a bit harder to snap down the sides, but it fit. But they are knockoffs, so I doubt there is much statistical research into making them all exactly the same size.
Mine fit. And they work better than the piece of crap that came with my phone. Sorry if it doesn't work for you. I use my phone all day and I move around too much to charge it. I have four of these batteries. I'd say on average, the original gives me probably 6 hours, where the "fake" gives me 8 to 9. Change my battery once a day and never have to worry about charging. That's with heavy usage. And it was only $5.98.
Call me a liar if you want, just sounds like jealousy to me.
Today I got 8 hours out of it and im at 50% now. Pretty good after first charge and for $8
14 hours, 16%...
Only complaint so far is the back of the phone fits toooooo snug and therefore my case fits more snug and now it puls on my screen protector and peels it up.
I just ordered another 1500, looks like HTC sells black only batteries now.
They say 'HTC Innovation'.
Just a cut and paste of reply in another topic:
I bought two 1800 with a charger off of ebay for 15 dollars. They fit in the regular case (just barely) but they maybe last a few hours longer than a stock one. I can make it through 8 hours at work now without having to plug in. Oh well, I now have two extra batteries I can quick swap and go in case of a pinch..
It does fit in mine. Not sure if its and updated version to those of you who say it doesnt fit though.
FWIW my "oem evo" 1500mAh $4 Ebay battery did pretty well.

I bought two of these batteries from this seller and I got them to fit. And as far as them being crap, I went for over 48 hours on just one of these batteries with medium use. Try doing that with a stock battery.
I bought the HTC Express 1800 battery and it's working fine for me, and it fits in the phone. Yes, a bit snug but I don't have any issues with my case or screen protector.

I still hope there will be a vertical cradle, although the plugin for the chargder is on the side.

^ Thanks for posting that and warning me. I was about to order it from them and I am now glad I didn't.
I am going to continue looking for an authentic one and if I find one I will be sure to share it on here.
I also got the cradle and despite the fact that it does what it says; you can charge phone and battery, it feels really cheap and 'plastic', so on the cradle I agree with GoblinIT.
I still am happy with the battery though.

Verizon induction charger and D3 back

i picked up the induction charger and back today for my Droid 3.
The new back cover adds weight and thickness. BUT - the rounded edges feel alot better than the stock back
I had to use doubleback tape to get the induction charger to stay on my desk since it is so light. too light to just pick the phone straight up. there are magnets that put the phone in the right position over the pad.
when the phone is in the right position on the pad, it is not in the middle.... i find that sort of weird. it's either high on the pad or low on the pad (depending on the direction)
it charges with decent speed if you have the display off while charging. I will have to use it more tomorrow, but it seemed to only charge me up to 90% and then quit. at least it reset the time since charge meter. The phone warms up slightly while charging, but not uncomfortably.
I am curious about trying the extended battery with this....
verdict - nice.
couple questions if you don't mind:
1 - how much thickness is added with the inductive back cover? Could you maybe take a side by side picture as a reference?
2 - does the charger use the Qi standard for inductive charging? Maybe listed somewhere on the package...
I got too busy to take a shot today....

Its worth it to me cuz I don't want to end up forgetting my charger at home and having to move it back n forth from my work bag going to work and getting home. It'd be easier for me just to leave it in my bag and use a pad or just another charger. *shrug*

Has anyone found a case/holster that fits with the inductive cover?
Does the inductive charging back work on anything besides the verizon wireless charging pad? I already have a powermat, and was wondering if it was using the same induction technology.
The verizon charging pad is actually from LG, and they say they use the new Qi standard, which Powermat also says they use. Powermat doesnt say how long theyve been using the Qi standard though, so you'll want to check the device before buying. There is also the Energizer inductive pad, which also uses the Qi standard, but those are nigh impossible to find. I ordered a single slot charger off Amazon yesterday, and it is out of stock, so I will see it when I see it.
All in all, I absolutely LOVE my inductive charging. I bought three pads, one for home, one for truck, and one for work. I even fabricated a mount for my truck, so the phone doesnt slide all over the place when I drive fast.
Only problem is that damn loud as hell beep you get when you place the phone down. I took it apart, and tried to remove the speaker, but it trashed the unit. $45 down the drain in the name of modding!
So I got the energizer Qi charging pad, it does work, and does not have a beep. It is larger, less refined than the LG pad, and is a little harder to position correctly.
All in all, I definitely prefer the Verizon / LG inductive charging pad, but that damn beep ruins it for office/bedside use.

The case is basically just a built-in battery pack that charges through the microUSB connector like any plug would. Once they cases runs out of power you have to recharge the case. That's pretty much it, fairly simple.
Thank you for the reply. None of the product pages show the bottom of the phone. I assume the speaker and the audio part are uncovered? I could not tell if any of them have flaps that can cover the ports to prevent dust. How does the battery stats on the phone understand the pack? Does it think it's on a constant charge or something?
Edit - nvm, I see the one case has a toggle to charge the phone.

Way too bulky IMO. I would gladly by a 2000-2200 capacity one in order to be a lot slimmer or slicker. Looks should be as important as functionality.
How about this case? The S6 variant has 1 review that it's good and but can't really judge by just 1 review.

Ah, good find! I'll add that to the OP. :good:
Sidenote: Personally I would be careful with these no-name branded batteries. These are the ones usually hear stories of exploding (in worst case) or just not being anywhere near the capacity they claim. But it good to have them added anyhow.

Comsoon 3500mAh Ultra Slim Rechargeable Extended Charging Case
I bought this thing off of Amazon. The only real problem I have is that it doesn't fit snugly enough. It actually rattles around inside a little. The very top slides open so you can place the phone in and slid it down over the charger tip, then slide the top down to encase the phone. It feels like it would pop out of the case if I dropped it.
It does add some bulk, but coming from the Note 3, it's not too bad. The case doesn't seem to get in the way or effect the call or sound quality but the headphone port in the bottom is really narrow. I have to take the phone out of the case if I want to plug headphones in.
All in all, it does give you more power when your away from the charger. I have not tried to charge it up from empty using the battery pack, but in a pinch I think it would do okay if you leave it alone over night. It's really slow.
I would not buy this again, but it works and I'll keep it for now. At least until something else comes along.

Note 8 Battery cases

so far on EBAY and Amazon they are ALL the same 5500mah device, regardless of brand. Anyone seen anything else interesting?
I would love to find a thin case with 2000mah.
I've been frantically searching for one, too. They have like 8 identical cases on Amazon from 8 different Chinese sellers. It looks identical to the one I JUST BOUGHT for my GS8+. It really came in handy for that phone, now I'm starting all over again.
Battery on the Note 8 has been good, but I like the peace of mind of having a battery case I can slap on in emergencies. I'm hoping we get some options with Prime shipping soon.
Got this one from Amazon to use on the golf course and while traveling. The ONLY one I could find. Still waiting for it to be delivered.

It's the same design as all of them. Really massive and ugly IMHO. I want one with another 2k.
if i can find a battery case that can be charged wirelessly, and will charge the note 8 wirelessly as well, it would be a done deal!
I stay with what has never failed me since my note 2 days zerolemon has never failed me waiting in payday to order it
I'm just waiting til this thing hit $30 or less. No way I'm paying $40 for this because I know the price will drop quick like the S8+ battery cases.
I carry one of these monsters in my bag. I charged my s7 edge about 6 times in full from zero. Battery cases tend to not give much protection for the phone itself.

Mophie battery case has the ability to charge wireless. I have never used one but I have been keeping my eye in it. The are kinda expensive at $99 but don't look super bulk. The have a sign up page for the note 8 since it isn't available yet. http://www.mophie.com/innovation

There are power banks now that do wireless charging
Do they have one that works like a bigger battery? These just charge your battery.

I got this one, https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01H...ttery+pack&dpPl=1&dpID=41ZnLRFSzXL&ref=plSrch
,a few months ago from a different seller for $30. It works great.
I have used Zerolemon for all my old Note phones, looks like they have a 5500mah batery case for the Note 8, that is almost half of the 10,000 mah case I had for my Note 3. I guess I am passing for now.
Has anyone seen anything other than the one single ugly bulky design that is out there?
Battery pack

so far on EBAY and Amazon they are ALL the same 5500mah device, regardless of brand. Anyone seen anything else interesting?
I would love to find a thin case with 2000mah.

some people don't want to carry around multiple devices with a cable and rather just 1 device.
I've never been a fan of Mophie and that's probably because they rip people off with their pricing. Just go and look at their portable batteries and your jaw will drop. I think Anker, zerolemon, and Rav power are really killing the game. Might put Mophie out of business if they keep their prices so high. Their products are **** relative to the price they ask. $150 for a 13,000 mAh power bank... Like wtf!!
Well anyways, I've also been looking for something like 2500 mAh battery pack for the note 8. Had a S8 plus and got the zerolemon one and holy crap that was massive. Very hard to use and very uncomfortable in the hand. It was still a great case and nothing wrong with it but it sucks no one has something smaller than 5500. Honestly I think the reason is that that are all using the same supplier or the same battery and you can tell they are all the same battery cases. Exact same button design and everything lol. So I hope some company decides to come out with a smaller slimmer battery case. I feel like alot of people would buy!
