AICPAndroid Ice Cold Project
AICP is known by everyone as Ice Cold Project that started on Desire HD and since then evolved into a mature ROM with the BEST community you can find!!!
Until Lollipop, Rom has always been AOKP based. Unfortunately, since AOKP either stopped development or will make a comeback later this year, we changed our base to CM when it comes to hardware, drivers and some features.
If there are any bugs, either we will sort them or CM team if it concerns their modifications. This rom isn't CM supported so no need to report errors or bugs to them!!

ROMS should contain everything you need to enjoy Marshmallow. You are not required to install any Add Ons, simply download the latest ROM, gapps, flash it, and go!
You are STRONGLY recommended to fully wipe your device before flashing, and if possible avoid restoring system apps and system data with Titanium Backup - these can cause stability issues that are very hard to debug. If you believe you know what you're doing - then fine, go ahead, but please don't complain if you experience strange behavior.

New thread huh because I posted something in what must of been a AICP beta release. I've had some weird things happening after using a November edition of Banks gapps. It is quite hard to explain. I also tried using OpenGapps, and got a system UI FC. Its probably going to be hard for you to replicate the issue w/o a logcat. I'm not sure if anyone else has had an issue. You must of just released an updated AICP a hour ago.
FYI: I've been having issues with finding a working gapps package, so user be warned. I have used both OpenGappps (Pico 6.0) and Banks Gapps. One package gave me a system UI FC and the other corrupted TWRP. I had to re-fastboot flash GPE ruu, wipe stock recovery dalvik /dalvik cache, reflash TWRP 2.8.7.0 and go from there. I'm not really sure how many others will have problems, but I was having problems that I feel should be mentioned. As far as pre-gapps flash the rom runs smooth. Let me know which packages yall are using.

Hallo and thanks for the release of this rom. What gapps can i use for this Rom for Android 6.0? When i click on the link on the top for gapps i see this open_gapps-x86-5.1-super-20151111, but no 6.0 gapps?
Can anyone help?

Can't take a picture with this ROM, HTC camera closes and stock camera says can't connect to the camera. Anyone know how to fix this? I'm loving the ROM but could do with the camera working

Hi, I think you can use the Open Gapps from this Side. I have this Gapps not tested but it should work. Good luck for the Test :good:.
Regards
leather.face ...
Edit:
You can also check this Side but the Gapps for CM are also the Open Gapps. It`s working for CM based ROMs.

Morning, I need not other Gapps. I`m on GPE and the Gapps are included.
Regards ...

This isnt a GPE rom though. I'm using Wolla as of now, but I'm trying to find a working gapps that won't corrupt my recovery or FC system UI.

Camera doesn't work for me too (also tried Snap HDR but no joy either). Please point out which Gapps package to use or how to fix it. Thanks

I used also the Banks Gapps this is the only gapps, these are the only ones that work properly on my phone.

Just flashed Banks gapps, camera still broke. I like this rom much more than Wolla, going back to lollipop for now. I'll definitely use this ROM when the camera is fixed.

Camera is working fine for me, both native and HTC version off the Play Store.

I'm not sure why it is but it's working fine for me. Have a Verizon M8 and I haven't done anything special at all.

I have T-Mobile version if that helps to solve the problem.

Sorry guys I have a Verizon m8 as well and the camera doesn't work for me or the group of guys I work with. So I'm not sure how it works for the one person and not the majority. What I can say is from what I can tell its rom side. Having said that I'm going to build again tonight and hopefully I can get it fixed up.

I'm not sure if you know this one already but it doesn't seem to connect on my Sprint HK edition either (4.25.654.18). If you already knew, sorry to clutter.
If not, I hope it helps. Maybe has something to do with FW communicating with the ROM. Who knows.

Are you referring to data or the camera? The camera seems to be a luck person or two that are able to connect. If your talking data you would be the first person to my knowledge having a issue.

You'll need to fastboot OEM unlock for unlocking bootloader
Then need to fastboot boot twrp.recovery then install the recovery permanently by flashing it from within the booted twrp.recovery. so twrp needs to be on both PC and internal storage of nexus player.
Once you get twrp squared away, you can boot to and flash from recovery.
Bottom button on Nexus Player... Hold down while plugging in to enter bootloader. Short press to cycle, long press and release to select must be in bootloader when entering fastboot commands.
You will need a mouse connected via otg in order to do anything within twrp. I use a wireless Logitech k400 keyboard with a trackpad.
That's the crash course
thank you I'm glad to see more people developmenting for the Nexus player I'll have to try this out I'm stocked rooted with twrp and maybe make my 128gb pny worth using now thinking about getting some Ubuntu on their as well

Just make a backup in twrp(store the backup on external storage) and try it out. My previous testing, this wasn't ready for a daily driver if you use the Nexus Player for more than just Kodi. But when it worked well, it was very enjoyable

We'd have to ask @Trafalgar Square what the status of builds for the Fugu is. I take looks at the changelogs and have never seen specific commits for the Nexus Player. There is a build from the 23rd(yesterday) but I haven't tried any nightlies since the 13th... And that ran same as my previous attempts.
I'd really like to see the AICP tablet version! No AndroidTV UI. There isn't a current Marshmallow build in tablet mode for our device... The Pure Android build does not contain an overscan activity and can't launch the overscan.apk.
If I could formally request... AICP tablet version please ????

Vatsal bro downloading and tryin is a mess i am using this device as a daily driver i have already downloaded ur rom but flashing and installing all the apps again is a pain as i set up my device as a new device dont take any apps from back up cause if i take apps from back up it screws the rom so i install the apps fresh from google play store takes a lot of time so its good to know is every app stck is working finger print will work i know but fm is a doughtful cause till now it dosent work in any mm rom
I have seen people restoring from back up
Not unlocking bootloader before flashing new roms
Not removing finger print and password lock before flashing new rom
They have issues like
No fp
Fp settings fc
Phone.com fc
Phone reebooting
Gps not locked
They dont follow procedure then give rom a bad name and confuse others
I am on fb group redmi kenzo official indian
There they have mentioned fp not working in ur rom
So i guess i asked
For those having network problems flash cm 13 radio zip by @banmeifyouwant it fixes it. And vatsal been running this for two days damn stable.
Just report minor bug
Maybe the devs forgot to fix battery bug issue in this 24 build. Hope on next OTA is getting fixed. Thanks you.
thanks... more and more rom for us.
Sorry @ashwaa, i did not test fm/fp since i reverted back to RR as soon as i saw that this rom has battery bug.
The easiest thing you can do is make a nandroid backup of your current rom. That way you can try out new roms without installing all your apps, and if you don't like the rom/it has many bugs, you just restore your previous rom with TWRP. It takes just a couple of minutes. :good:
unfortunately setting has stopped

About Us:
Dirty Unicorns is a project that started out with no name. It was a project that was first based off AOKP back in the early days of Jelly Bean. In the early days it was just a one man show on one device, the EVO 3D. Since then, many others have joined the project and it has grown exponentially.
We have seen a lot of talent contribute to this project of ours. Big or small, the focus was always on contributing to the community. That is ultimately why we do what we do. After Jelly Bean, we decided to move to a new base, OmniROM. While AOKP was fun, OmniROM proved to be even more exciting base because it challenged us to see what we could do with a project that had different goals in mind. We learned a lot and again, gain contributors. With Lollipop, we moved to an AOSP base with a lot of patches from CAF to make our older devices function as they should. We grew even more and learned a whole lot more.
It has been an awesome learning experience and is still not over! We are still learning every day and continue to move forward. Lastly, we DO NOT accept, nor ask, for donations. We don't believe in that. Everything that is necessary to keep this project going is out of our own pocket. Gerrit, Jenkins, Websites, Devices, etc. We will never ask for a dime. All we do ask, is that you have patience, search, read and try to enjoy the process with us!!
Flashing Instructions:
- Verify that you're using the latest version of TWRP
- Perform a FULL WIPE as described below if coming from another ROM or a different version of Android
(A full wipe is when you wipe system/data/cache)
- Flash the latest version of this ROM
- Flash recommended GAPPS linked below
- Reboot and ENJOY!!
**If you fail to follow these instructions, please don't bother reporting any bugs**
**If you use Xposed, please don't bother reporting any bugs**

Nope, but layers still works aka Substratum legacy.
Is Media playback a DU source related bug ? Coz its works in al other N based roms of kenzo
They are working into porting it to 7.1 atm so I don't think you should waste too much time with this build.
But still, thanks for your work, I'll gladly use future DU builds if they are avaliable.

Nope, afaik 7.1 ****ed media stack in caf devices, IMO 7.1 is meant for pixel devices. However cm is doing a good job rebasing, maybe they will fix the derps and we'll see a good 7.1 build in the near future. Or we could just wait for the full rollout of 7.1 in December.
Where is gapps link?
Which is to download arm64 for 7 ?

Didn't know that, I guess we just need to wait to see how stuff goes, we can't know for sure.
Also, does capacitive buttons work? Do they have backlight?
Cheers

Backlight seems to be a standard issue in all nougat Roms. You can use the app from the play store to control backlight. But the buttons work fine.

Download from opengapps.org. Android version 7.0 arch:arm64 package pico or nano is recommended.

You should add that to the second post then mate, knows issues with easy fixes are fine, but we should make sure that users are aware about them, even when they don't look that important.
I'm going to try the ROM in a few hours and I will try to give a smuch feedback as possible.
I'm using a custom built DU ROM atm and the only problem are light on buttons(fixed with a play store app) and torch tile, that doesn't always work, need to test in this ROM.
Again, thanks for your wok, ROM is looking great atm.
what the different with other DU 11 rom?

AICPAndroid Ice Cold Project
AICP is known by everyone as Ice Cold Project that started on Desire HD and since then evolved into a mature ROM with the BEST community you can find!!!
Until Lollipop, Rom has always been AOKP based. Unfortunately, since AOKP stopped development (but made a comeback later), we changed our base to CM when it comes to hardware, drivers and some features.
With the rebrand of CM to LineageOS (LOS) we are now actually LOS based.
If there are any bugs, either we will sort them out or LOS team, if it concerns their modifications. This rom isn't LOS supported, so no need to report errors or bugs to them!!

Don't disable Heads-Up. You might not be able to answer phone calls otherwise.
You tell...
The ROM should contain everything you need to enjoy Android Nougat. You don't need to install any Add-Ons, simply download the latest ROM, GApps, flash it, and go!
It is STRONGLY recommended to fully wipe your device before flashing, and if possible avoid restoring system apps and system data with Titanium Backup as this can cause stability issues that are very hard to debug.
If you believe you know what you're doing - then fine, go ahead, but please don't complain if you experience strange behavior.
How to flash:
Again: Don't do it if you don't know it!
TWRP is the recommended custom recovery (and needed for OTA Updates)
1. full wipe
2. flash ROM
3. flash GApps
(The ROM has GApps persistance in between dirty flashes, so you only have to flash them once!
.
KERNEL:
Kernel in this ROM follows LOS source with custom additions.
PREREQUISITE FOR OTA:
To be able to flash over OTA app, TWRP recovery is needed.
You can still use CWM/LOS recovery and OTA app, but you will need to download the zip file and flash it manually from within your recovery. Zip gets saved under AICP_ota folder on your internal SDcard.
Please be sure that you are on the latest TWRP recovery.

Im going to flash the Nightly build now
I have just installed everything now. This rom is so great! It runs so smooth.
I update about the battery life when i have used the phone a bit.
Thx u dev for your awesome work!
I'm not sure if this is the correct place to ask this, but I've seen musicman works on both projects, so... What are the main differences between AICP and RR?
I'm currently running the latest release of RR on the official website (a month old), and am downloading both today's RR and the current stable AICP, as I haven't decided which to use yet. The main things I care about are audio, stability, lack of bloatware (I use nano gapps and install the extras I want separately), and something to replace the space inefficient default recent apps menu (grid view from HTC is my favorite). I also like to be able to customize the header and quickbuttons.
Has the issue been fixed on either ROM where you have to toggle to speakerphone to hear phone calls?
Thanks in advance for any info...

Haven't made many calls yet, but it seems to have fixed it. Thank you. You might want to have the initial post updated though, because it says not to disable it.

it happened " only.when on "Off display lockscreen" moments. I sniffed few threads regarding the problem with other ROMs.
I solutions were "reflash, vendor flash, uninstall xposef,su, magisks, *.
it happened with Carbon on my other device long time back. mini beans instead of regu Picoo helped (magisk 13x) j.
To be honest CM , RR & Lineage was my thing, however, its my first time with AICP. and its perfect for me, RAM Life 3:5 free with stripped plug add-on customization features (not forced), Open Gapp.fastest boot, ts classy its snappy, n I wish it works.
