I searched throughout the entire forum and couldn't find anything on it. Has anyone tried to root a this tablet but the "NOOK" version. The only reason why I'd buy this over the original is because I'd get a pretty good discount on it. But would sort of only be interested in it if I could root it and but another rom on it. Thanks for the help.

Yes, I got one at a good price off of eBay and followed the root guide. Works great.

Pick up a Nook version as well. I flashed the optimal ROM on it. Then decided to try the stock again. I was able to use Smart Switch to reset it to stock Tab S2.

It's in the Galaxy Tab S2 Android Development area. But I've moved on to the Neked Nook, that's also in the Galaxy Tab S2 Android Development area.
Yes, I was looking at this a few months ago. Can anyone put a complete guide how to get this onto stock with or without root? (on completion.)

I'm thinking about rooting my captivate so I can us it as a wifi access for my Ipad. I currently have no experience what so ever about this topic and was looking for advice and help on this. I don't have any desire to brick my phone so good advice is appreciated. Thank you to everyone!
Well first things first download the one click root. Search it. There ya go. If you have any other questions or problems let me know.

how do i tell if my phone is rooted
you will have the superuser application if your rooted
ok i have that on my phone so how do i make it work
Make what work? Your phone is already rooted, you can now get apps for rooted phones and do stuff you normally wouldn't be able to do. Also, please use the search function, I'm sure you'll find the answer you're looking for.
Hi,
I've looked for a thread on this, but all I can find is the TF700T. So I figured I'd start one. If it's a dupe, please just point me in the right direction and I'll ask the Moderator to delete this one. Thanks!
Anyway, I'm wondering if there's any way to get TWRP on an ASUS TF701T? I have CWM on it, but I need to be able to back up to my 64GB SD Card that I have installed in the slot and CWM won't see anything over 32GB, nor anything that's not formatted to FAT32. No offense to anyone who likes CWM, but in 2014, that's just weak.
Any help would be appreciated very much! I have been looking for days all over the Internet and in these forums and simply cannot find what I'm looking for.
There's no TWRP version for TF701 yet - unfortunately. Not even a touch version of CWM :crying:

Okay, I started to read the URL, then quit, because I can't stand reading pages, looking for the purpose of it.
No offense to you. I appreciate you pasting in the link! But really quickly, what is it for? Formatting larger than 32GB as FAT32, or something to that effect?
Also, aren't you the guy that makes those way cool kernels, like the one I was using for quite a while? It allowed OverClocking and stuff?
Curious: Do you have one for:
HTC One 64GB Developers Edition
BootLdr/GSM Unlocked (MetroPCS)
Factory ROM, KitKat v4.4.2, Rooted
CWM Recovery
Also.....
ASUS TF701T Tablet 10"
Factory ROM, JB v4.3, Rooted
CWM Recovery
I don't want to install a Custom ROM or anything. I like to start from scratch and then tweak the Factory ROM to the way I want my device to be, one modification/tweak at a time.
I know you had one when I was doing my Galaxy Tab and I have scoured XDA for your Kernels, because I only use stuff that I really trust and I really trust your work!
I'm not trying to be lazy here, even though it may seem it from not reading the whole URL. But that's not it. I'm just a "to the point" guy. I'm not saying I never ramble, but you will know what the purpose is rather quickly. <lol> And as I said, I did scour XDA and Google as best I could (for 3 days now) to find one by you that will work on my device, but I just could not find one.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME GUYS!!!

No. Actually, I was talking about that at first, but then I saw the guy who makes kernels and was asking about that and a link was provided for that, but I didn't see where to download and install it (how).
I would be interested in TWRP for my LG Optimus F6 though.

Hi, i gave a try a few days ago to build TWRP for TF701T; i think that my twrp.fstab is correct and that my TWRP build flags are OK too BUT the file i built was not working at all => touchscreen not working at all, dock keyboard was not working neither but recovery was correctly booting into itself... that is all because without any input method working, i got stucked into it !
I truly hope that you will produce a working one :fingers-crossed: and i really like to try your upcoming TWRP for TF701T builds out...
Just let me know about it...
Kind regards

The TF701 was released what one or two years ago and still no touch recovery. This is a very good device and one of the more overlooked, IMO.
Makes me wonder why no one that has the knowhow can or will make the touch drivers needed for such a recovery
I very much agree with the post above this post, it says it best.
Just bought a tf701t tablet. It came with 4.2 I was able to disable the white default syustrm theme and use standard android colors. Then the update for 4.3 came. Settings stayed. Then this morning the 4.4 update installed now I'm back on this white theme? And the option is gone to disable it?
Anyone know what I'm talking about here?
Thanks.

Nope!
I haven't seen anything like that in 4.4. I had to decompile the frameworkres.apk and systemui.apk and change the colours that way but if you are doing that you may as well load cromi-x. So no way to change them unless you can find an app for root that works with the asus framework which I doubt.

Quick question. I have the tf701t. Is cwm comparable and the ROM? So far I've just unlocked boot loader and rooted.

Sweet I'll have a look tonight. I'm familiar with all this flashing stuff. On my 3rd tablet nexus 7 and 10 and 4th phone android. Galaxy s3 s4 and moto g.
Surprised there isn't more Roms and kernels, such a bad ass device, or am I missing something ? Hahahahh. but after a quick read I see the targa 4 drivers are extremely difficult to code.
Thanks again.

I presume you are referring to the Samsung Galaxy S6 (SM-G920T)?
If so then yes you can flash SU and TWRP via Odin and install a compatible ROM through recovery.
That's because the bootloader is not locked. Or at least at the moment with 5.1.1

Yes. The T-Mobile S6 variant (SM-G920T) does NOT have a locked a bootloader at present.
The S7 however does and the suspicion (though unfounded at the moment) is that once T-mobile releases the Marshmallow update for the S6 it may lock the bootloader. Thus, it is probably going to be a good idea to wait on taking the Marshmallow update as soon as it is available (if root is desirable).
So will any normal Roms available for the standard GSM s7 work with the T-Mobile model? Also, is installing twrp as simple as something like a Nexus? I haven't been in the ROM game for a while, thanks for the help guys

There won't be any ROMs available for the S7 so long as the bootloader remains locked.

For the umpteenth time yes. You just need to make sure that whatever ROM you want to flash is compatible with the T-Mobile S6 variant (SM-G920T).
There is a T-Mobile Galaxy S6 Android Development forum here at XDA which will have a number of different ROMs to choose from as well as information and support for said ROMs.
Thanks man

Yep. Really like my 64g S6 flat. And you are right, with a few tweaks it is a great device.
I have International Note 5 with stock Singapore DVU firmware. After updating to stock Marshmallow a have serious battery drain and when the phone reaches 20% it shuts down by itself. I need to go back to 5.1.1. software,
I did downloaded the software from Samoblie, can I just start Odin and connect the phone a flash the old Lollipop software to the phone? Or is it better to do factory re set first, and then flash the software? I am not rooted. Usually i root all my Samsung phones but this one was almost perfect so no need to root. Am I missing something important? All my settings will be erased? What about pictures and music on the internal memory card? All gone?
thank you for your answers.
