If you don`t like you don`t have to use the addon,
but take a look at post #2 "Installation" -> "Without DarkKat Addon"
You only have to flash the addon one time, (if you choose to install the backup scripts),
all your custom changes will be restored after an update.
The Darkkat Addon will work with all Darkkat Builds,
you don`t have to look at the addon date and rom date.
Additional Apps:
Don`t use the addon to update the apps, (this should be done via Play Store)
There is no need to install apps which are already installed.
MultiRom:
If you use Darkkat as additional rom,
you have to flash the addon after every rom update,
the backup function only works for internal roms.

How to install

Art isn't all that I tried it on my phone got force closes. and if you YouTube the video for art vs dalvik the are just. .1 seconds away from each other. And are phone are still pretty good spec wise. It is mainly for mid range phones. +art is still in development. Enjoy dalvik until art becomes like JIT (android 2.2) and is nessarry

Hi I just wanted to say that I've run the rom properly. It's superb I changed the kernel for matr1x,but that's a personal choice, due to colours. Love the mix of stock and added choice. Plus you built in a lot of stuff I have to add normally, like bionic and X. Runs as smooth as can be.

You need to convert it to F2FS. It wont boot if you on f2fs based file system as its a xtn4 based ROM

If there are notifications and the weather panel is
shown, the clock will possibly be placed on top of the status bar
(related to the number of notifications and the screen size).
I didn`t decided how to handle this bug,
maybe hide the weather panel if there are a (configurable) number of notifications,
or only display a (configurable) number of notifications on the lock screen.

Install the Rom:
Get Gapps
(e.g. PA Gapps,
this is the micro modular package I`m using, other gapps packages may work, too,
but I still prefer PA Gapps.)
Get SuperSu
(SuperUser may work, too, but I prefer SuperSu)
Copy the Rom-Zip, Gapps and SuperSu or SuperUser to your SD-Card,
Flash zips in recovery
Boot the rom, and go to SuperSu:
Go to settings -> "Install SuperSu backup script"
Next rom update, you only have to flash the rom itself
Update the Rom (from last test build):
Install current SuperSu
(if not already done)
Delete the SuperSU backup script located at /system/addon.d)
(to be sure you are using the latest one)
Open SuperSU, and install the backup script
Flash the rom, (Full-Wipe is recommend, but not required)
Flash gapps
(except there is a gapps backup script located at /system/addon.d)
Update the Rom (from beta/release):

Requirements:
A fast desktop CPU, (or a very fast mobile CPU, better use a PC)
Enough RAM, (8 - 16 GB)
A up to date Linux, (I use Ubuntu 14.04, works with other distros, too, but maybe you have to make some changes to the commands)
A working Build Environment, (here is a guide how to set up a Build Environment on Ubuntu)
(needed steps till "Identify Yourself to the Repo")
Of course it`ll work on slow hardware, too,
but it takes a lot more time.
Create working directory and init repo:

(you can use any directory name and path you like, but you have to change the commands to match to your local path)

Sync the repo:

(now it`s time to drink a big cup of coffee, tea, or ... this can take some time)
Setting up ccache, (optional):
I recommend to use ccache,
if you have enough free space on your SSD/HDD, (about 50 GB).
Using ccache will speed up the building times,
(first build will take longer, because the cchache will be created).
For me, (clean build)
first build/without ccache:
about 45 - 55 minutes
following builds, with ccache:
about 10 - 17 minutes

the default ccache directory is located at the root of your home directory,

I really like the name DarkKat, but I don't like any combination of "dark" and "Lolli"/" Pop", so I decided to stay at DarkKat.

Some infos about the update:
The main reason for this update is the background fix
for the zen mode panel of the volume panel
(white text and icons on white background).
"Unfortunately", I noticed the background bug
while adding the weather panel to the lock screen,
as the background bug has to be fixed as soon as possible,
(and I didn`t want to remove the weather panel code),
I decided to add an option to show/hide the location and the weather panel itself.
I don`t like to release a build with a work in progress feature,
but in this case, I guess it`s more important to fix a bug.
The layout of the weather panel isn`t final,
there is to much space between the clock and the weather panel,
possibly I`ll move the weather panel to the bottom of the alarm status, too.

The functionality is final,
and if I didn`t missed
anything, all is working.
The layout is almost final,
the only "issue" I noticed,
the panel is horizontally centered,
but it seemes the panel is a bit left aligned
because the elements on the left side are wider
than the elements on the right side,
possibly I`ll change this in one of the next builds.
Lock screen text and icon colors:
Pattern-, password-, pin-
and face unlock views are not colorized for now.
I`ll add it in one of the next builds.
Weather settings (general):
I`m really unhappy with the weather settings,
it`s confusing, I guess it isn`t expected to be found

You don`t have to use Darkkat, but sometimes you have to install Darkkat to check the translations
I don`t need translations to, English, (default language), German and Spanish,
but if you feel the need for a similar translation,
e.g.:
German -> Swiss,
German -> Austrian,
...

Hi @XXMrHyde ... At the first time I must say ... A lot of thanks for this amazing rom and your work here ... I like your rom! It`s fast, smooth and very stable and I`m very happy that all settings are in the German Language :good: ... I have not a problem or issues on my N4 devices but I have two questions:
1/ You publish an rom update once a month or what is your message?
2/ Are you planning an Dark Kat update on Android 5.1.0?
I hope that soon an update of your rom appears ... Sorry for my English but I wish you a nice weekend and all the Best for your development!

INTRODUCTION
Here's my latest rom based this time on Lollipop 5.1.1, I've called it eXistenZ Premium.
The main difference with the previous eXistenZ is that I've added many new features directly inside the settings, that means that you can choose what you want and apply it directly.
All these new features are coming from the best Custom rom available like CM12, BlissLP, Cataclysm, SlimLP, Disco, ...
So you have the perfect mix between stock Sony rom and all these one.
Other advantage is that you don't need to install Xposed to add new features, so you will have a better stability.

How to avoid problems with Quick Toggles
A:
[*] Don't use too much Quick Toggles, add only the ones that you're using regularly.
[*] The first Notification must always be ABOVE the Navigation bar, if not you may have issue while expanding the panel. You have many way to do that, increase the number of tiles per row, do not enlarge the first rom, remove brightness slider, ...

Q: Heads Up isn't working or doesn't wotk for some applications.
A:
[*] Be sure that Heads Up in turned on in eXistenZ Heads Up & Notification settings.
[*] Heads Up is used by default only for the apps who have Heads Up set as prior option to display notifications inside there code. This is the case for apps like Conversations, Hangout, ...
If you want Heads Up notification for a particular application, go in eXistenZ/Heads Up & Notifications/Launcher Applications only (or All Applications), select the apps and activate "Force Heads Up".
This is like that and not the same as stock to allow Advanced Notifications managment
Q: I can't mount System partition to RW or delete system apps?
A: Set SELinux mode to permissive with pre-installed app SeLinuxModeChanger.
Q: Why haven't you added automatic theme accent coloring for Quick Toggles, Icons, ...?
A: There is an Hexadecimal color picker who is way more interesting and give you more personalization options.
If you want to find what's the HEXadecimal code used by the theme you are using to apply it, use an app called "Color Picker" available at Play Store.
Do a screenshot with the color you want and open it with Color Picker app, touch to find Hexadecimal code, paste that code with FF at the beginning.
So if the HEX code found by the app is 5e395a, paste that: FF5E395A
Q: Hey, that thing doesn't work!
A: Check if there isn't an (*) at the right of setting description, that means that you must restart SystemUI.
If it is not the case, try to enable/disable option a few time and reboot or read thread to find an answer.
Q: How can I have stock Sony's icons for Battery?
A: Go in settings/eXistenZ/Status Bar
Check "Sony's Battery Icon" and restart SystemUI (at bottom) then go in Battery Status and select Hidden as Indicator
Q: How can I have stock Sony's icons for Signal, Wifi, Battery and Stamina?
A: Go in system/vendor/overlay and delete SystemUI-Overlay-exz_statusbar_icons.apk
Q: How can I have reject by message option while receiving a call?
A: Go in system/vendor/overlay and delete InCallUI-Overlay-reject_msgs_drawer.apk
Q: Why the Quick Toggles animations are not working anymore?
A: Quick Toggles animations are only working in you are not coloring the icons, coloring engine isn't able to color animated images actually.
So to restore animations, turn off Custom color switch in settings/eXistenZ/Notification Panel/Display Options
Q: Double tap anywhere to sleep can't be turned off?
A: The switch in Lockscreen settings is only working when Double tap to sleep is turned off in Status Bar options.
Q: Volume to skip tracks doesn't seems to work?
A: Volume to skip tracks isn't working with Ambient Display On.
Q: What happend to Home launcher, no more Home drawer?
A: By default Modern layout is used, to restore old style, long press Home desktop, go in settings/Home Screen layout and select Classic.
Q: How can I restore stock Camera app?
