No its not. This is the official release on nexus devices. the one old news was just rumpurs. Thos is the news about hoogle actually announcing it and the changes from 5.0.2.
So dont be a smartazz
wont be getting it on a note 4 till summer.
Firmware files for nexus are already out here http://www.droid-life.com/2015/03/09/android-5-1-factory-images-available-for-nexus-devices/
I wish there was a nexus phone with microsd and nvidia chipset and 4 gig RAM. now THAT would be a nice phone.

Ps. Prediction, Galaxy S ii gets 5.1 before us.
Would be nice to get v5.0 in the first place.

Maybe Samsung has been waiting for LP 5.1 to update all Note 4 variants. Germany got LP 5.0.1, I have it.
You wait for Samsung! Samsung waits for no-one! Samsung is a badass - they do as they please!

The note 4 reminds me of note 1 in terms of updates. Few and far between. We had to rely of developers to do the work of Samsung.
Thanks developers!

It has been good for you yet. Don't try to update to OF3 or OF4. That's suck.
Keep you current version until we can root or get Android 5.1.1 or M. Because 5.0.2 has a big bug : pretty lags in used.
But the S6A gets lag too much. It can be fixed by disable some apps and better battery : All ATT apps, samsung push,, vv..
use this app and you can disable them.

Some developers used the older version to root it inside.
If the ATT improve security of S6A, it means 90% the OF4 or more will not get root .
I was bad when I updated to OF3, the battery drain to much.
Just keep the OE9 if you are in

Battery drain on the latest firmware is not an issue at all. Actually I'm seeing better battery after installing it last night

Like other people who unlocked the S6 to use in their home network, I would not be seeing this update, even though it is a good sign that AT&T is rolling out the Stagefright update
At the very least, I hope we get the stock rom image released eventually....
Kind of off topic, but using package disabler and selecting "disable all bloatware" has pretty much eliminated all lag for me.

Hello! I have the S 6Aktive. I am in Russia. Is it possible at this point in any way to update the firmware, without reference to the ATT?
AT&T's update text has something along the lines of fixing security issues and performance issues.
I'm not sure if there's anything else to it.
If someone has more info on this, that'd be great.
Already updated since I'm not on a firmware that'd support it anyways.
just updated to that version and so far i feel like the little stutters a not as bad now when scrolling. i also have the samsung package app disabler from google play store that helps save memory for non rooted phones. update was about 100mb over wifi and i needed to have an active sim card for the file to push over.
I installed the update on my S6 Edge and one thing I noticed that's missing is the battery optimization feature that Samsung built which is similar to the upcoming Doze/App Standby feature. It was released in this update on the t-mobile and international versions but I don't see it anywhere on the AT&T version. I'm not sure why they removed a feature that can greatly improve battery life but that's AT&T for you. I also don't see Wifi calling in this update. It appears to basically just be bug fixes, security updates and VoLTE improvements with HD Video and ability to send larger videos over SMS.
My phone auto-updated without my permission today. I was holding off on the 5.1.1 update, let alone the baseband update. The device management alert came up earlier in the day, but I told it to remind me later. Instead of doing that, though, it looks like it decided to do the update. WTF AT&T?!

Do you know what size of video we are supposed to be able to send? I tried on my S6 to send a video to my wife and the default messenger app still shrunk it down to 692K. Garbled garbage still at that compression.

I'm just glad it didn't fix the bugs I've had since updating to 5.1.1 and losing root. I really want to keep those as long as possible. #sarcasm #whydidntibuyinternationalversion
The battery life is definitely much better in terms of standby time. It's a night and day difference for me. Looks like we did get the battery optimization. It just doesn't show up in the settings like on other versions.
I guess all we can do, is hope that the update to OJ7 has created security hole(s) and will allow our wonderful XDA developers an opportunity to utilize it/them to gain root again. I know it sounds like a pipe dream but its no more or less what we have currently, on OI2.
I'm actually having worse battery life after the update than before, I just wiped my cache yesterday so I'll report back later but I find that even with Enhanced LTE disabled my battery is draining a lot more. I'll give it a few days though and see how it is now......my biggest issue is I find that my app usage is quite a bit higher than before and my cell standby in gsam is higher as well though it no longer appears in the lollipop battery stats.
a link to download the new OTA?
I'm on stock and tried the update 2x and both failed at 30%?
Edit: Did a factory reset and the OTA still fails.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G920A using Tapatalk
Battery is alright on OJ7. Slightly worse than OCE but its not bad.
I did a cache wipe and that seems to have fixed the drain i was having. I'm trying out VoLTE again to see if that's any better now. Overall I'd say the battery life is similar to the previous build. I do have an odd issue today, at about 100 hrs uptime and my LTE keeps showing up while on Wifi for several minutes, then it goes away and then a few minutes later it reappears. This was before I turned back on VoLTE. I did try toggling airplane mode but that didn't resolve it. I do see there is a new build series that is OK# starting to rollout so probably some bug fixes there if we see it, who knows if we'll get that or if AT&T will have us wait for 6.0.
Can anyone please get the files for the update so that those of us that cannot OTA can update via ODIN.

That would be the first time one is forced to update/upgrade. Usually you can select something like "Always", "Only when connected to WiFi" or "Never". Isn't that no more the case with the Xperia X series? Hope it is...
yeh, I found out you can prevent the upgrade, but you have to do it before a upgrade pops up in the upgrade section.

hey karrouma,
Do you need to be rooted to use Flashtools?
I show that my phone is up-to-date, but I still have the Contacts app issue (I don't care anymore cuz I use Contacts + app, but still). I've been having an issue I hope is gone now where phone randomly restarts on its own. I cleared all the preferences (or cache?) at once and restarted. So far it's good (knock on wood), but I wonder if doing what you did would help? But if it requires root forget it. lol
Also, on your box, on the side.......... what country/language codes do you see? Mine said ZH, EN which I guess was China and English for US/UK (or maybe England?? lol). HK would be Hong Kong, so still China. TW would be Taiwan. I've been told the Taiwan int'l version doesn't have the Contacts app issue.
Please let me know.
No root , u canuse flashboot safely if u know how to install your phone driver

Not sure. I've rooted and unlocked bootloaders before, but I don't know the exact procedure for what you're talking about. Are there instructions somewhere online? Where did you go to get the FTF file? Is THIS it?
Ok you got the Taiwanese version. Cool. Mine's Hong Kong. I don't think the TW version ever had the stock Contacts app issue though.

Also, I posted on sony forums about it.
Posted in software section, for some stupid reason it was moved to xperia x section as a reply to a topic about 8hr battery.
I clearly stated it was xperia x performance and the system update 35.0.a.1.238. Yet when I went to check it was gone and move.

"Regular 54 hrs"? The XP just came out a month ago. What do you mean regular?
I tried leaving SM on overnight last week for about 7 hours, and the battery STILL goes down, but only 4%. It's not like the SM on the Z3, which was better but also to me quite buggy. Without SM overnight my battery went down 7%. I only activate SM when I'm gonna be out for more than a few hours, or else it's not worth it.
Note: Make sure if you use the "Visual Voicemail" app that after enabling then disabling SM that you go back into the VV app and re-enable it. Or else calls that go to VM will only show up on Notification Pane (VV notif won't show up) and you'll have to re-enable it later anyways, so might as well just remember to do it after disabling SM. Other than that it works pretty well, just not AS great as on my old Z3. But at least it's not buggy, and by buggy I mean super annoying MMS and random battery drain issues. MMS messages wouldn't always come in and randomly the battery level would free fall, and I'd have to FACTORY RESET the phone to make it ok. I'm so glad Sony finally fixed it, just wish it didn't lose any battery power overnight. Oh well.
It was quite a shock but about an hour after signing up for Pie beta I'm now getting it bundled with the November update. It's a 1782. 74 MB download. The way I actually got it was by uninstalling the Samsung+ app and reinstalling the latest version off Apkmirror. Once I did that the beta registration became available.

Good luck, I know how it feels to want to get something for your phone & then to be told that you're out of luck.

Same here. On TMobile US. I just installed the Samsung+ app from the play store and registered for the beta. I did an update check about 15 mins later and there it was.

Do you live in the united states? Or using a tmobile sim card? I have a tmobile s9 plus ( but using claro sim card in dominican republic) and downloaded samsung + i saw the beta program i tried to register but nothing happened... how much time do i have to wait to get it.. i mean if its going to happen lol
Is it possible to get pie beta for exynos version
I would guess that the update will depend on where you live and your carrier. I'm sure they won't send it out to everyone so there is probably a limit for each country and carrier. Some may get it fast, some down the road, and some not at all.
I didn't download the Samsung+ beta app. I downloaded the standard Samsung+ app from Google play store and registered within that.
I've registered for betas with them before and not sure if that plays a part in it also. Maybe some some sort of pre-approval going on somewhere also.

I couldn't get the registration to show from the Play version and had to install the other one. Maybe does have something to do with your previous registrations.
