Hi,
first of all I would like to thank Hennymcc for releasing CM12.1 for the G800F at all.
I was wondering why the latest update is from mid-August, so vital security patches are not included in this ROM.
Is there still an active development in this project?
My wife bought this device a few days ago, and I was really surprised that there does not seem to exist a recent version of CM12.1 for
this (I believe) popular device.
Does anyone have further information regarding this matter?
Thank you.
Best regards,
Cryptoman007
Cm12.1 development is dead i think
because they're working on cm13 now
Not entirely dead, we'll see what happens if and when official Lollipop rolls out...
It is great that he already works on Marshmallow for the G800F, but let's see what the current situation is:
We can choose between stock-4.4.2 from the stone-age or CM12.1 from mid-August 2015.
Of course, CM12.1 is newer, but the most important security fixes are still missing, so currently the G800F cannot be declared as safe.
It would be great if he could release a CM12.1 version (just one) with the current fixes shortly.
When Samsung (if they do it at all...) will release the official Lollipop-ROM, these security fixes will surely be fixed, and there
will be (from the security standpoint) no need for an updated CM12.1 or even CM13, except for the bloatware or when new security issues will arise after that.

Hey,
currently I have the CM 12.1 at my M7. Last stable build was released in october 2015. My question is, contains the CM nightlie builds also the android security patches?
Cause I dont know when comes a new stable release for M7, much less when comes CM 13 for the M7 but I want to have the newest patches from google. I found nothing in the changelogs from cm.
Thanks!
Yes I do believe that the CM nightlies are updated with the latest security patches. BTW at this point if you didn't know there are unofficial CM13 ROMS for M7 however, they have bugs such as camera force closes and other minor ones.
Can any one suggest any good Lollipop 5.1.1 ROM which is still maintained/updated till date ? I just need good, stable lollipop ROM which will be updating per month once with Google's monthly security patches. Currently I am on Unofficial Pac- man ROM but the Dev has dropped support it.
Yaa I know MM has become quite stable now but still I want to be on LP.
Thanks.

I want to stay with Lollipop, but I think that there isn't any rom that is still updated.
I tried Marshmallow, but it's a bit slow here and touch commands response isn't as good as it is on Lollipop.
If think the only way to update is compilling CM12.1 from source, because they are updating the security patches.

So I want to know.
Is it possible to change the 'sony stock' + 'marshmallow'
+ 'custom(like Rockz1l)' + 'porting(z5, X series... Whatever)' rom
in the future?
Sorry for bad Eng.
I wish it is possible.

No, because you need Marshmallow sources from Sony, which they'll never release.
Z1 is done and obsolete. If you really want the latest Android version, download the unofficial CM/AOSP Marshmallow ROMs; otherwise, buy a new phone. Although CM/AOSP MM build has been released a while ago, they're still full of issues (camera is bad, low battery life, etc.). They're still under active development, so things may change in the future. I recommend staying with Lollipop because it's stable and has excellent battery life.

People had success with porting Sense 6 to hammerhead, and it's surprisingly usable with some issues considering it's a non-source port for an entirely different device.
Porting a proprietary ROM is a pain as it mostly involves trial-and-error to find out what's preventing the ROM from booting up but we will see if a similar project appear for the Z1
Looking to upgrade my stock android for Xperia V since it is no longer supported by google, kindly recommend one that is stable and can be used as a daily driver. Also mention issues if there are any compared to stock ROM. Thank you.
I'm currently running @WhiteNeo 's CM12.1. I find it very stable. (I am having problems with celular reception, but suspect it is hardware related.) Requires an unlocked bootloader, though.

I must point out you can get more recent versions of CM on Xperia V, but I prefer tried and true roms
I'm using WhiteNeo's final CM12.1 build since January and haven't had any issue so far. Perfectly stable.
Adrian DC claims his latest CM13.0 to be stable. Can anyone say if it's worth the upgrade? To me stability is above all, but runtime is also important.

Yes, CM 13 works perfect. I've been used it for all time I have Tsubasa.
Hello,
I have just read that Android was the most vulnerable OS in 2016, and I feel concerned as a user of Z1 Stock ROM (based on Lollipop 5.1.1) version 14.6.A.1.236, released in 2015.
I was wondering if updating official rom from Sony with security updates released by Google on Android 5.1.1 is a project that the community could do?
I haven't found yet any tutorial to do it on xperia or any "obsolete" smartphone.
I know security is a main purpose of Jaguar Rom (by @optimumpro) but I would like to keep an Android Stock base (for camera & stability).
Thank you.
