So today I embarked on what seemed to be a fruitless journey as I tried to root the Infinix Hot 2 on the latest build (December Security Patch of course) and I observed the following:
1. Flashing TWRP Recovery that was previously made for this device doesn't Flash. SP/Infinix Flash Tool flashes the recovery quite alright but booting to recovery with ADB afterwards gives a "No command" screen.
2. Kingroot (PC & Mobile) can't root this device as of yet :'(
3. I think the bootloader can be unlocked using the Android One Toolkit that was created for 1st Gen Android One devices. Reason being the fact it booted to fastboot and prompted me with the option to accept bootloader unlock or not.
Should you come come successful with flashing recovery or rooting this latest build, please comment your method. Thank you...

recovery partition is protected, it will get back to stock recovery if you boot the system. so you really need to boot recovery as the first thing you do after flashing.
which because of the similar bug we can't unlock our bootloader, is impossible to do with default setting. flash your lk partition with this:

Under developer's option, there is a check box to enable oem unlock bootloader, so I don't think it was the cause. I can use adb to boot into fastboot mode. And with Flashfire.apk developed by the well known developer "Chainfire", I can even backup the whole phone and flash .zip file without custom recovery. However, If the system crash and cannot boot, you cannot get into the app to restore it. So, porting the custom recovery is crucial.
Use fastboot to flash the recovery image then?
Pretty sure the check box for enable oem unlock bootloader is on every v10 version. It's just that the only one that it actually *works* on and actually unlocks the bootloader is the USA t-mobile version.

You can't replace the recovery while the bootloader is locked. The only partition than can be touched n modified is system.

1. flash the stock boot image that you've backup
2. flash the superuser.zip that provided in this thread in TWRP recovery

Great! It works!
Hello there you have x9 official rom or recovery.img
Hello there you have x9 official rom or recovery.img
ATTENTION!
You MUST read all the guide BEFORE doing it, if you do it without reading all of it first you may ends up bricking your phone!
Prerequisites:
Asus ZE500KL (may work on ZE500KG, but haven't tested, do it on your own risk) on Marshmallow, NOT LOLLIPOP!
Also, it must have fully booted AT LEAST one time, otherwise, you'll soft-brick it.
If your phone is not on Marshmallow, you can use THIS guide insteadDownload and put the unlocker zip file and the SuperSu zip file in the phone
How To:
1 - Install adb and fastboot driver (follow THIS guide)
Now you can connect the phone to your computer2 - Reboot in fastboot mode with one of the following method:
a -Volume Up while booting upb -With adb, after enabling USB debugging in developer settings, using:
Code:
adb reboot bootloader
Now that you are in bootloader, you have to boot in TWRP,
download THIS recovery (is the twrp one) and boot in to it, using this command:
IMPORTANT: DON'T FLASH IT OR YOU WILL GET BOOTLOOP!!!
Code:
fastboot boot TWRP-x-x-x-x.img
(Obviusly the recovery name must be the one you downloaded)
IMPORTANT: DON'T FLASH IT OR YOU WILL GET BOOTLOOP!!!
It should automaticaly enter in recovery.
Now you MUST flash FIRST ZE500KL_BootloaderUnlock.zip, otherwise you'll brick your phone
Btw, the recovery will mount your phone's memory, so you can put now the files in the phone, if you forgot to do it before
AFTER you installed the unlocker zip, you can install the SuperSu zip
When the install is complete, clear the cache and reboot your phone, now you can enjoy your root!

If there's no way to install without PC then can I be able to install custom recovery on my device with Win XP ?

Install a terminal emulator by Jake Pelvich from Play store.
Extract the official TWRP img from the TWRP fota zip, or, if you already downloaded an official img, put it into the root of your internal storage.
For ease of access, but still mnemonic, rename the img into "twrp.img"
Open your terminal emulator, and enter "su" and run. This will make the terminal to request root, as you're elevating the shell into root.
Now, we "dd" the TWRP image into your FOTA partition. Copy and run the following:
Code:
dd if=/storage/emulated/0/twrp.img of=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/FOTAKernel bs=4096
Reboot to check if recovery is accessible after hitting volume up when LED lights up

What ROM are you using? You need a ROM that can boot a FOTAKernel recovery, and not all of them can (especially stock based ones, since stock by default doesn't allow this).
Ditto.
If you are not using a ROM that supports booting from TWRP, then I can't suggest a method to install other recoveries without a PC.
I do not say it is impossible though, but it'll take a lot of brain power, and moderate understanding of shell scripting in order to reverse engineer the other recoveries provided in the dev subforum.

Like already explained by Tomoms and me, you need a ROM that supports booting recovery from the FOTA partition in order for my explained method to work. You didn't also tell us which ROM you are using.
No, you dont need to flash your stock back. Leaving the FOTA partition replaced does no absolute harm at all.
If you flash stock, your bootloader will still remain unlocked. In order to relock, you will need to explicitly relock it, by using the relock bootloader option provided by flashtool. If you backed up your TA partition, restoring it will automatically relock your bootloader.

Install the unofficial one from this thread https://forum.xda-developers.com/huawei-p20-pro/development/recovery-twrp-3-2-1-0-t3779400
Just flash it over the one you currently have with the same method you used before via fastboot.
When you issue the 'fastboot reboot' command after installing unplug the usb cable straight away and hold volume up button until it boots to TWRP. This will stop TWRP being overwritten by stock recovery on first boot. Disable all fingerprint/pin/password/face unlock security first, to be able to see your files correctly.
Youre better off flashing Magisk than SuperSU
