I think you gotta unlock it in the carrier settings first on lolipop.I used the lgup tool and it worked.
Hi,
Do you mean: zv9 -> downgrade to zv6 -> unlock carrier settings -> reflash zv9 using lgup?
Mine exactly like that but does not work.
tks

If there is D950 version without brand - then U can flash it. Just simply go there: http://lg-firmware-rom.com/, and using your imei, you will be able to download lastest software for your phone.

I flashed the update ZV9 to my G4, had the same problem as you... What I did was flash 5.1 ZV6 but APN config still didn't work, then I use this metod to open hidden APN settings http://forum.xda-developers.com/sprint-g4/general/guide-sim-unlock-t3229801
It worked partialy, now I have 3G but no 4gLTE
I bought a new Lg g4 model h81520g as shown in setting>about phone>software info. I wanted to check for update but there's no software update option, only apps update is available. so what I decided to do is to reflash the stock software to enable update option. I downloaded the kdz file "H81520g" but when I connected it to computer and ran the LGUP it shows another variant which is LS991zv6. I tried to flash the downloaded file, but it gives an error "invalid kdz. My Lg g4 comes with marshmallow on board. the stock recovery works fine, and also the download mode is fine.
my question is: should I download and flash LS991zv6? by the way, I checked my imei in imei info .com and it shows the model as LS991 sprint

Zv6 is lolipop no mm. U need to check the motherboard. Must disasmble the device and see what it says. Bit if the device is working i would leave it be. Its almost more hassle than its worth

Thats what im telling u zv6 is a lolipop firmware for sure no debate there..
Thats why i say leave it be. This is one of those if u mess up u can hard brick it. Theres not a diffrence between mm and lolipop motherboards but zv6 is a lolipop firmware. Not mm.
are you telling me that software info in about the phone is wrong
Android version 6.0
android security patch level
01-11-2016
Baseband version
MPSS.BO.2.5.c3-00106-m8992FAAAZM-1
Kwernal version
3.10.84
Build number
MRA58K
Software version
H81520g
Security software version
MDF v2.0 release 1
this is the software info. I also downloaded some apps and they all show that it's Marshmallow 6.0 with motherboard 8992 H815
Any way, Thank you so much guys for your reply especially TheMadScientist420
Hi,
I'm using MetroPCS service w/ sim card my Moto E5 Play XT1921-5 (Sprint Firmware). The phone came with Assurance Wireless out of the box. Talk and text work fine but data does not work whatsoever. I've tried every combination of t-mobile's and Metro PCS's APN settings but to no avail. I've done the OEM unlock and applying the fix included in the"XT1921-5 AUTO_APN PERMANENT" zip file via the ADB tool, drivers and all.
I entered in one of the latest recommended official APN settings and now I get an error saying that the APN settings aren't even available anymore and I get the error now when I try to even click on the apn settings tab in android. Talk and text still work though. There was never an option to add APN settings in the first place. I could only edit the two existing APN profiles. I tried running InfinityBox AST to apply the fix but I got a "smart card not found" error.
I've reset the network settings multiple times along with doing a couple factory resets.
Anyhow, I'm wondering if the data issue is because it's innately a sprint phone? Is it possible to flash my phone with the MetroPCS or T-Mobile firmware or is there a universal/unlocked firmware that I can flash it with (without bricking it)? Perhaps I should flash it with custom firmware, if it's possible to root my model. Please let me know what the best course of action is to take.
Thanks

What does getvar all say?
Code:
fastboot getvar all

Sent from my Moto E (4) using Tapatalk
I found it that it's not working because it's the sprint firmware. So can I flash the phone safely with MetroPCS firmware?

Not the full firmware if the bootloader is locked.
You likely can flash the modem firmware.
Code:
fastboot flash modem NON-HLOS.bin
fastboot erase modemst1
fastboot erase modemst2
fastboot flash fsg fsg.mbn

What's the correct file to utilize to flash with adb? Is there a separate one for T-Mobile and sprint? If so, which carrier files should I use?
Should I use the file from the following web page?:
https://www.getdroidtips.com/stock-rom-sprint-moto-e5-play/
Can the modem firmware be extracted from the main MetroPCS firmware or do I have to download it separately from somewhere else?

Firmware is available from
https://mirrors.lolinet.com/firmware/moto/
Run
Code:
fastboot getvar all
To find codename, software channel, software version.
See
https://forum.xda-developers.com/general/rooting-roms/guide-flashing-motorola-firmware-t4042039
Or you can post the getvar all here and I'll try to help.

I can assist you in flashing the entire firmware if you are ok with unlocking the bootloader.
Currently have a T-Mobile (LM405TA) that's stuck in an update. Haven't been able to figure out a workaround.
Current OS: Android 9 - T-Mobile 20h
Preferred OS: Android 10 - T-Mobile 30e
Are these T-Mobile devices safe to use LGUP on to flash their own KDZ file?

Yes that's what the kdz is for, to update the phone. But if your phone, as you say, is stuck in an OTA update, LGUP may not recognize the device, have you verified you can get to download mode?
If so, I'd say go ahead and do the update.
cheers
