I've installed lollipop using TWRP and recovering a backup, and everything seems to be fine, except for the fact that now I can't install apps, neither from apks, Google play, can't even update them. When I do from apk it simply says "application not installed" and from Google play it gives an error 504,which you usually fix deleting the apps data and cache, and Google services's too, but that doesn't work.
I was able to do it at first, after I made it 5.0.2,installed all my previous apps, updated the old ones, except Chrome that never allowed me to update it. But now I can't install or update any app. Any idea what could it be?
I thought it may be related to writing permissions but if that was the case I'd have had he problem right from the beginning.
Could it be a problem with the version of Android I installed itself? I mean I could flash apps in, but not install them in the usual ways.

Here's the situation. :/ I have a Rooted Kindle Fire 2 (not HD) and am having been attempting to REadd the Google Play Store. I've already done it, but a recent(ish) update completly removed it from my device. I know how to do and I already have the required files. However, I've ran into a slight issue and didn't happen the first time. You see... the "GoogleServicesFramework.apk" file simply won't install presents me with the ever annoying "Application Not Installed" error. I REPEAT, my device is already rooted and I use ES File Manager. It's set-up for root and I know my way around the folders. I've disabled the ads, uninstalled a few system apps, and changed my default homescreen. As far as my problem is concerned, I've tried various things.
-Just installing it... FAIL
-Moving to system apps and installing... FAIL
-Moving, rebooting, and installing... FAIL
-Moving, rebooting, setting permissions, and installing... FAIL

Nope, nada, nein.... nothing has worked. I've checked and its not running in the background with ANY method. I've tried adding the store and linking my Google account (that already my "Kindle%20Fire" on it) anyways and that, of course, has failed,Currently, I have none of the core google files installed or present other then the Download folder. I have tried files from various sources and they all seem to have to the same problem. Does anyone have a solution to this?
Have you installed superuser? Eliminated some the issues you described when I had them

Sound lame but I used the tool from here :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1951254
It has the option to add the framework and all the other stuff too as well as launchers. It sure saved me a long time after I wiped. 20 minutes and I was good to go.
Hey guys! Thanks for replying, but this is no longer an issue. I did a factory reset a couple days ago and now everything works perfectly! ...all my other (unmentioned) issues were fixed as well.
I have the apk of the older Google Maps - the one that was actually useful, and the one that actually worked. I just can't install it. I've uninstalled the Google Maps updates, cleared cache, data, etc. on my phone, but it isn't allowing me to install the older version of Maps. I'm sure it's because it's a system app, that might be causing the issue. But if anyone needs it. Attached is the apk, for the older, better app.
The only reason I'm hesitant on rooting is the KNOX counter.
Over the past month I have been expiriencing issues with the google maps app. It has been saying that I have no internet whenever I try to search for anything. Very recently the google playstore also stopped working as well. I have tried several things including clearing cache and clearing hosts file except for localhost line. I also tried backing up google play services and removing it and installing it from an apk onlinw but it didnt install properly. When I tried to restore the backup (titanium backup) it didnt work properly and now all google apps are broken. Running android 4.2.2 rooted. Any help is greatly appreciated
I've been fed up with the poor battery life on Lollipop and Marshmallow, so I decided to downgrade my Z3c to KitKat. I did it "by the book," using Flashtool to downgrade (I checked both boxes to wipe everything in Flashtool), giefroot, dual recovery, etc. I installed a prerooted zip of 23.0.1.A.5.77 and then flashed RICdefeat and a mod specifically designed for 23.0.1.A.5.77 so I could have Xloud. Both the prerooted firmware and the mod are from XDA. So far so good. I had root and recovery working perfectly, and I started downloading my apps from the Play Store.
Everything looked great until I tried to access the Play store after the first reboot. The Installed Apps under the My Apps menu would not show up at all, and anything I tried to download would just hang at "download pending" and never make any progress. Furthermore I could not download anything from my browser (Chrome). And every time I tried to assign ringtones or notification sounds, Media Storage crashed. I did some searching and found that the Download Manager and Media Storage are somehow linked and seem to be the cause of this problem. Things went back to normal after I cleared the cache (or force closed if there was no clear cache option) from both of those in settings, but this does not persist after a reboot. So every time I reboot the phone, I have to go back and clear those manually, and then re-assign all of my custom sounds (ringtones, notifications, etc) due to media storage being cleared. Luckily I don't reboot all that often, but obviously this is not ideal.
I do have Xposed with a few modules (Gravitybox, Amplify, Greenify, etc.) installed, but this problem occurred before I even installed Xposed. I use Titanium Backup to freeze some of Sony's bloatware. Otherwise I'm basically stock with a locked bootloader, and I have plenty of free space on internal storage.
What is causing my download manager and media storage to keep messing things up, and is there a fix?
You mentioned that you have frozen some of the Sony's bloatware on your phone. Might have something to do with that!
About the download pending on Play Store: Play Store might be needed to be updated, so go to settings (sliding menu from Play Store) and tap on Build Version, it will say something like "Newer version will be downloaded and installed etc" IF you have an old version of the Play Store.

G6 Ali with OPS27.104-15-10 rooted following the instructions here - https://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g6/how-to/guide-twrp-root-magisk-installation-t3816569
The cause of the problem:
I backed up, uninstalled, then reinstalled Play Store and froze Play Services briefly in Titanium backup while trying to install the modded Google Play Store from a certain (apparently banned here) "warez" app, LP. The install never went through. It failed both trying to "update" Play store and when I backed up and removed Play Store with Titanium Backup. After it failed I re-installed my backup of Play Store.
The problem:
Many apps force close upon refresh/first open. Also, certain apps complain because Systemwebview isn't installed even though Google Play says it is. Google Play Store itself appears to be fine and can uninstall/re-install apps without issue.
My attempts so far:
factory reset(both from the settings menu and from TWRP) - This resulted in a fresh install with no ability to sign into Google Play store. I got a black screen instead of a login screen, regardless of whether I did it during initial setup or after. I ended up reverting to a backup I made with only the issues listed above because at least it kind of works.
reflashing OpenGapps
re-installing SystemWebView and affected apps in the Play store
Using Titanium Backup to clear cache and data from Play, Play services, Webview, and any affected apps.
My next move:
I was thinking I might try fastboot flashing the stock firmware, but the one here:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g6/development/stock-firmware-moto-g6-t3792292
does not match the build number of my phone and the other stock firmware thread doesn't list a build number at all.
What am I missing here?

Flash stock and never ever use that modded things again, and never mention them again on XDA, any discution of the app you mention is against the XDA rules.
Thank you for that information. I have edited my OP to remove direct mention/link of said warez app, though it still exists in the quoted text from AleSebEri.
Does it matter that the build number in the stock firmware thread I linked is different than mine? Mine is OPS27.104-15-10, the linked one is OPS27.82-72.

For anyone reading this in the future facing similar issues, no, it does not matter if the build number is the same. Flashing the factory files from here:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g6/development/stock-firmware-moto-g6-t3792292
solved my issue. Thank you for your assistance, AleSebEri
