Following a YouTube video, code 4dwguHoxTvo, I think I might have bricked my tablet.
I ran the script provided at rootjunkysdl, got USB drivers working, and booted into TWRP recovery. I made a backup, but the guy in the video doesn't mention that you need pico gapps until he's already doing it. So I rebooted to copy over pico and now I'm in a reboot loop. "=> Normal boot" with the Amazon logo.
On bootup it shows up in device manager under Other as "MT65xx Preloader", then disappears when it reboots again.
If I hold power and both volume buttons I get "=> Fastboot mode..." but I don't know if I can do anything w/ that.
How did this happen if I didn't flash anything, just backed up?

I'm new to this business so I might not know everything.
I wanted to install Lolipop on my xperia sp using cyanogenmod 12.1. I rooted it with towelroot, got superuser and installed Rashr to get a recovery mode program. It asked me to make a back up first, so I did. Then I went on an selected TWPR img and it flashed a partition but didn't reboot as it asked me to, I then realized I missed some steps in the installation process.
So I went on and used the backup Rashr made and it also cleaned a partition. Then I rebooted. Since then, it's stuck in bootloop, the screen flashes on and off just pure black and never reaches the logo just solid black. I tried turning it off from the back, going into recovery mode but I couldn't(I held the buttons for at least 2 min and it wouldn't work), it would just light the blue led for a little and then resume to the loop.
PC, Sony companion doesn't recognize it. It only sees it when I try to go into recovery mode(power + volume up) while it is plugged in and appears in device manager as "S1boot Fastboot", I left it for a good 10 min to install the driver, but it wouldn't.
I don't have bootloader unlocked. Right now I left it on so it could drain the battery, but it should take a long time for that to happen. Please help me!!
FIXED
After looking for other fixes, I found this guide and it worked just great.
I've a problem:
My phone is unlocked, UBL, with original 205 firmware. Sometimes it's turned off, the boot was problem: few bootloot before load the system. I installed twrp and cwm, but reinstall twrp, from twrp, and it's the problem. If I power on in flash mode, the phone exit from flash mode after 43 sec. and light is red. After 63 sec go to back to flash mode. I don't flash my phone. Help please! Sorry my english.
Hey guys, My victara's volume buttons (both) stopped working after a drop. I was flashing a new rom in it today and forgot about this detail, then, I wiped the wrong partition via TWRP and got a boot loop (easily fixable, when possible) but now I can't enter on my recovery without the volume buttons. I've tried doing it via adb of fastboot but none of them recognized my device. There is a third way to open recovery or bootloader?
When I reset it with USB plugged in, it turns the green led on for 2 or 3 seconds and go back to bootlooping
I was able to fix my volume buttons with some silver tape on the connector and everything is back to normal now
If you are rooted, there are a variety of apps that will reboot into recovery or bootloader. I use ROM Toolbox Pro, but there are others
Adb wait-for-device reboot recovery
Issue this command without the device plugged in. Then plug the powered down device in and it should go right to recovery. It's a good trick to keep around for the future.
I haven't seen that command before. Nice one.
I installed CM 13 on my Droid Turbo after unlocking the bootloader with Sunshine. Everything was going fine until I tried to flash the Open Google Apps zip and I got into a loop with some of the Gapps crashing and I couldn't do anything. I researched this online and they (can't find where now) said to use TWRP to reset the device. So I went into "wipe" on TWRP and under "advanced wipe" I chose "System", "dalvik / art" and "cache" and rebooted the system. Now I've been stuck on the "WARNING BOOTLOADER UNLOCKED" screen for over an hour.
The other thing I have going against me is the power button does not work in anyway whatsoever (before and after I unlocked the bootloader).
Does anyone have any ideas?
You wiped the system partition, which means you erased your phone's operating system. This is why your phone is having trouble booting said operating system. Re-flash CM13 followed by your gapps (flash them sequentially. Don't boot the phone until both are flashed) and you should be fine.
I just went through this. Here's what worked for me, I'm on mobile and your milage may vary, you'll probably want to double check my work.
Get
Minimal adb and fast boot
Motorola turbo USB drivers
Twrp, cm13 20160517 if using nightly, gapps Pico, and in my case SuperSU
Hold power till off
Power up while holding power down
Google for the proper commands to accomplish the following
Fast boot twrp in place for recovery
Edit, boot into twrp.
Adb push cm13 zip
Adb push gapps Pico zip
Adb push SuperSU zip if needed
Edit,reboot back into recovery
Flash cm13, gapps Pico, SuperSU in that order
Reboot, wait for cm13 to load as long as it takes.
Edit, boot into twrp before adb push.

Since you have no power button this becomes tricky. You can try using adb but don't know if it will work as your phone sits. The only thing I can think of is let your phone die completely once it is off totally plug it in to charge while holding the down vol. Button this will bring you to bootloader where you can use adb commands to start recovery and go into twrp where you can reflash the system and gapps

This worked seamlessly, thanks!
I was in the same situation, and your advice got me to drain the battery and get back into recovery mode, so thanks for that! But, when I connected the USB cable, and tried ADB commands, it doesn't recognize my device (it has always recognized it in the past). Any advice? Thanks so much!
I need help. I deleted/wiped in advanced mode in twrp the system and now I have No OS installed. I don't kow what to do now the phone does not bood except into twrp.
Use NOST
Sent from my NB1 using XDA Labs
After hours of "work" I have my phone running again. I was able to get the phone run stock recovery again and then was easy to just flash the oreo zip.
well good to know you solved the problem.
but just in case keep your phone bootloader critical unlocked so you can use NOST if you face such problems again.
Just happened again. I wanted to put twrp img back on the phone and as it reboots... its stuck on "Powered by Android". I cannot flash or do anything since its stuck and does not turn off. I tried all combinations of volume/power button and hold them for minutes... just does not turn off. So its not recognized by NOST or anything. Now I am really screwed as it seems...

I am at such condition too... how long battery lasts? I think it's possible to wait for the phone to fully discharge and then we may have access to recovery. right?

If you tried to "fastboot boot" the TWRP image: thats "normal", fastboot boot is broken on every firmware since august. You have to flash TWRP to your active boot partition to boot it. However, at least for me, when being stuck in that screen I can still use "fastboot reboot" or "fastboot reboot-bootloader" to get the phone back in a working state.
Also, if you try to flash TWRP to your active boot: Please don't flash the image from the official site, since that is unable to boot into the system normally. Use my recompiled generic TWRP boot image that you can flash, regardless of security patch version: https://forum.xda-developers.com/nokia-8/development/twrp-data-decryption-android-9-t3911411
If you did not fastboot boot an image: Hold down volume up, volume down and power for multiple minutes until the phone turns off. Then hold volume down while connecting the phone to a computer through USB, and it will start into fastboot mode. Then just revert whatever you changed and reflash the stock image.

It turns out that there was Pie on my partition B and I was not aware of that. Booting into TWRP wasn't working, so I flashed it and then factory reset system. And it broke the phone.
Now I tried to boot the TWRP from slot B and rebooted partition A. Now the phone is up... Thanks
Where can I find the appropriate stock boot image for my partition B? and should I fastboot it with boot_b command or what?
Moin,
My phone was one day suddenly unable to boot into system nor Recovery, but could still enter fastboot.
Took me a while to figure out that USB Hubs let flash attempts fail too. (you can watch the drama in my older posts)
Now i was able to flash System back into a workable state and it looks like that recovery is also successful flashed.
BUT...i can enter recovery only ONCE per Vol - and Power on Button.
i have NO OTHER WAY to enter Recovery at all. i have no reboot option in system (LOS 18.1).
In fastboot/adb command and after one succsesfull reboot per keys, it always stuck after the Sony logo into a black screen. i then have to restart it into system with Vol+ and Power (one vibration) or shut down with vol+ and power for 6 seconds (three vibration) to get it either into fastboot (Vol+ and USB connect) or system again. then i have to flash it again to get into TWRP once. i tryed the latest twrp version (3.7.0) and one older version (3.3.1) that had once worked until the phone broke.
Any idea what is going wrong here. i have already try to completly wipe everything from the phone and try to fix SEL Linux in twrp. nothing seems to work. Did i miss something?
/€: Now it is again in the full broken state. recovery nor System won't boot anymore and end in a black screen.
/€²: Found the Problem: my lilca zip was polluted with altered files i forgot about.
