Hey! i just wanted to know that does this custom roms makes any difference to speaker sound ?
i've been using ARHD rom from quite a long time & with every update the sound has been worst & now i barely can hear music while using phone speakers.
Just wanted to know if it's just me or some of you also have this kind of problem ?

Did you try cleaning speaker grilles? AFAIK, ARHD doesn't have any issues with sound. On the other hand, speaker grilles become filled with dirt with time, which blocks the sound

Umnn i didn't tried cleaning speakers, But i'll do it now. Should i use some sort of thinner or a just a brush would be enough ?

Also i have another problem my phone doesn't get recognize by pc, I've literally tried every solution available on the internet but no success.
i tired different cables, uninstalled htc related drivers, fix permissions, wipe cache dalvik

okay so since i first flashed darky's, i've had this strange electronic buzzing sound that happens maybe between once and 5 times a day (that i notice), when the phone is just sitting there. It lasts about 3 seconds, gets gradually louder (although never loud enough to hear over other noises - i only hear it when lying in bed or working quietly), and then cuts out.
I always thought it was a darky's bug, so just lived with it and didn't think too much of it. I've just flashed debusROM a couple days ago and the noise has carried over. I'm posting now because i just installed a CPUoverclock app, and overclocked to 1200, and now i *think* its got more frequent and slightly louder.
WHAT THE HELL is it?!?!?
Stop smokin the weed and see if it stops! Joke! Ive read a lot of threads and never heard of this, but sounds like a boot buzz, try a flash to stock with full wipe etc?

what is a boot buzz? like the electronic voice when flashing a new kernel? definitely not that.
And i did a full wipe hen i installed the full wipe version of debusROM....
I'd love to see if any of the forum elders have any ideas...

Static buzz while on call
I am also facing the same issue, This buzzing sound is really irritating... Is there any solution for this with Samsung service center ?
I am the original poster. Its not a hardware problem. Reflashing solved it. Which means it was the result of a bad flash or a problem inherent in darkyy's code. Reflash darkyROM, or do what I did and find a ROM with fewer bugs. I'm on Juwe 5.3 now which is excellent with NO bugs, great battery and some excellent features. I'm not knocking darkyy's excellent work, but there are better ROMS out there easy to find.

Hey I was trying to fix my twcr a few weeks ago after installing arhd 3.0.1 and ran a script I came across that changed some of the files in my etc/soundimage folder I think it was. Either way since then my sound via headset is horrible. My music plays horrible. In poweramp I ha e to turn the balance knob to the right or left to hear vocals. My in call volume is also garbage via the headset now. It's really low.
I've tried everything I can thi.k of. Ran an old nandroid from months back that had gingerbread. I've wiped the system and did a clean Rom install. And the sound via headset is the same no matter work. I shud point out that sound via speaker is fine.

I know it was a bad idea. I know I shudnt have did it. But I did. Twcr stopped and I had an interview to do that I wanted to record. Panicked. Looked for quick fix. Regret it. Any help wud be greatly appreciated.

Did you wipe the data partition when you reflashed the Rom?
I don't believe I did. I did run superwipe tho so I think that cleans it right?

Yes it does. Changes made to audio through a script do not persist through a complete wipe and fresh install of the operating system. It could be a hardware issue with your headset.
happens on any headset. not sure what happened. not the end of the world but i wish i cud get it working again.
Gonna bump.this and hope someone has any guesses as to what I can do since the forums have been busy lately

I've been avoiding that. I did run an old backup and formatted bit the same thing happened. I know the sound works because a notification blows my ear drums out via headset but a call or music sound brutal.

I repacked that file with stock version from our phone and cleaned up the install script so it can run without errors. Try flashing it and see if that fixes your issue. Wipe cache and dalvik.
i believe it may be a hardware issue. if i put a little presure on the jack towards the back and down it works fine. coulda swore this headset worked tho. maybe it got bumped and a connector or something moved.
weird. i ran that and now it works better. its a little touchy if i bump it it does the same thing but i can get the sound normal now. which makes no sense.

Today i compared the sound from my HTC One Speakers with them from a friend's HTC One.
I recognized that my Sound is not so loud like his Sound and also my speakers are sound muffled.
I thought that it was a Rom (Software-) Problem so i decided to reinstall my and his Phone with the Same Rom, Android Revolution HD 9.3
To exclude the problem from ARHD we also tried TrickDroid, OrDroid etc.
The sound of my speakers were every time lower than his Speakers...
Does anybody know this problem or have the same issue?
It would be nice if someone can help me.

I'd do a complete wipe n factory restore on both and test it when both units are identical stock, you may have gotten bad speakers and that's a simple replacement. Also make sure you're playing the same quality of song, I thought my speakers were bad until I realized that itunes had converted all my songs to a low quality

I also thought this but i checked and he didnt flashed it.
To get clearness i compared the sound of my Rooted and modified One with the Un-rooted and Mooded One of my dad.
His sound is also louder than mine :/

My microphone probably got a lot of dust coming to it, and I can't be heared over the phone.
Does someone has a fix to it? I tried to clean it with a toothbrush, so far without any luck.

Go to phone and dial *#*#3424#*#*
select Audio Test, then Run
Go trough the audio test, it will test both mic.

no, I don't have this problem.
try cleaning the speakers at the top and bottom gently with a soft toothbrush.
I was asking about rom/unlocked as there are some apps/tweaks you can install to improve sound, but all need root.

My both speaker are clean. Did u used in noise place? When Walking along street, if bus passing by me, I can't hear the other voice.
When I use in aisle,too. Ah.... Should I send A/S center??

Mine is fine - quite loud. Only usually have speaker at 60 - 70% volume even outside in noisy places.
Maybe someone else here has a suggestion to help you?
