Loving the phone so far, recently I was at the AT&T store and while I was waiting I had a moment to play with the Nokia Lumia 950, it has the best haptic feedback I've come across. It's hard to describe but it was the same sensation as using a traditional keyboard. It would be cool if it was possible to add that feature.

Vibrations under sounds settings. I've removed the haptic too. Annoying

One of the first things I do is disable most of the haptic feedback options.

I don't think that there is a way to change the feedback, just to turn it on or off. Now there are alternative keyboards, but they don't alter the haptic as far as I know.

Does the Nexus 7 have Haptic Feedback (vibration motor)?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but adjusting the volume to presumably a vibrate mode is different than haptic feedback settings on the keyboard/on screen soft keys.
I'm not running a CM9 rom on my phone at the moment, but I think the haptic feedback settings for the soft keys are in settings/sound and for the keyboard it should be in settings/language and input under settings for android keyboard.
Not sure if Jelly Bean is the same.
I could definitely see google deciding to remove the vibrate option from the os (because really, whats the point in a tablet) but i would assume that it has haptic
It doesn't have a vibration motor - I don't think there are many tablets that do.

I've had my Xoom since day one and it hasn't vibrated once so I don't think so... I haven't missed it either.

Now if it would do a little dance to a music video - that would be something!
Does anyone know how to adjust the haptic feedback for this phone? Sometimes it feels really good and other times it just too overboard. Its almost as if when close to low battery, it feels better and less choppy.

You can adjust the intensity for the keyboard by going into the keyboard settings and hitting advanced. It's the "keypress vibration duration" setting. I have mine set at 6ms, that seems to be the sweet spot. As far as the general haptic feedback is concerned, I just turned it off because it is WAY too powerful. That setting is found in the sounds setting.
I wish there was a way to turn it completely off. Mine has a nasty rattle near top of the phone no matter how I adjust it.

Have you tried setting it to 0 ms.

Interesting, that option is grayed out on my device. I can't change the setting. It's a T-Mobile XT1053.

Guys, even after new touchwiz. S5 animations seems slow.. yet the device is super fast.. so my tips would just help you! Thanks to look into it
1. Go to settings>developer options(if not present go to about phone and tap the build no. 5 times)> transition animation scale and shift the value to (0.5 or 0)
Do it for windows animation scale
And animator duration scale too!
2. Disable s-voice from Galaxy s5 it would make u go to homescreen super fast..
To do that double click your home button.. register s-voice go to menu(by pressing multitasking button for 3 seconds and then untick disable s-voice open via home key..
3. You can also use a custom launcher if you don't want touchwiz!
4. If rooted then try cross breeder!
P.s. > I will update it with more things.
5. If you're rooted and have tons of apps, then install greenify app from playstore and hibernate your apps.. this way you can improve battery life and functionality
6. Do a factory reset, which may solve your problem.
Hit Thanks if I helped!

The truth is that people don't like TW animations, but they don't understand the difference between lag and slow animation. So they complain but the excuse is ridiculous.
Enviado do meu Galaxy S4
How about this novel idea....if you don't like Touchwiz and/or you think this phone lags, then simply don't buy it or return it and leave us happy owners alone.
And for the love of God, please stop comparing this phone to the M8. They are different, period.
OP, I'm not saying you are doing these things, but it's always what these threads end up turning into.

Ok... so which phone should we compare it to then? The S4? M8 is clearly the most direct and similar competitor for the S5 at the moment and they shouldn't be compared to each other? Now that sounds pretty stupid to me...
For God's sake this is not a comparison thread... this is meant to make your s5 a bit more responsive..
So guys please enjoy your devices... dont fight...

My tip: use Startup Manager free from Google Play Store to check what apps starting with boot and disable them. You can disable Samsung stuff with this app. More free RAM. No root needed.

I didn't notice any performance issues relating to the launcher for exactly that reason - Nova is one of the first things I install!
I am actually using ADW at the moment though because I saw there was an update since I'd last installed it on another device ages ago and fancied road testing any changes - I'm loving the 'Wall' animation on the app drawer, and people who've had a go on my phone have commented on how slick it looks

Installing another weather app (or HD widgets or similar) and installing a calendar widget from the play store will fix 2 of those 3.
For the other one, I just put a shortcut to the app on my home screen and go into S health that way.
Each to their own though.
S - voice can be disabled completely using the uninstall/disable apps option.

I wouldn't recommend crossbreeder or any of such scripts on our phone.
It won't make any difference and most likely cause higher battery consumption.

Hi, dsilx!
I have installed this ROM a couple of days ago and, I have to tell you, it was the best I've tried since I started to change it. I didn't tried to use the internet and performance booster, but I'll give you my impressions about those features as soon as possible. Nevertheless, these are the points that I'm able to speak a little bit by now:
(Very) Nice Points:
-Speed (transitions are very fast and not jittering)
-Usability flow (very very smooth indeed)
-Battery usage (surprisingly economic)
Points to improve:
-Right Speaker not working (as you may already know). (But since we may encounter this issue in most of ROM's available, I guess it's not that important, even because the sound works right using my earphones)
- Sometimes, the wallpaper is show somehow disregulated, righter or lefter from the position that I've choosen before.
There's another fact important for me.. This ROM have revived my TAB 3, since it lost the efs ( I still don't know how) and recovered only by NEON CUBE ( I don't know why either), what I haven't suceed with the lasts I've tried before.
In a comparison, It's still a great ROM at the end of the day...=D
So, thank you very much for your nice job and be sure you can count on me for the tests you may need in the future!!
Peace!
Gustavo

Hahahahaha....
Relax, bro, I think I didn't express myself quite clear. Pardon me for that....lol
Two months ago, I was trying another ROM and suddenly Tab begin to don't accept any ROM instalation, showing the message "Failed to mount /efs", or something like that. Then, as a lot of things need my attention at the university and my job as well, I haven't had time enought to research properly in order to directly fix this issue.
I just keep trying to put some ROM's during the rare free time I've had, always regardind the correct version (T210), but with no success (the same message occured).
But this time, with your ROM, it has simply worked and I started to scream like a little girl and run around my house, jumping and singing...lol...besides this a little bit thick lying part, I was very happy for my Tab coming back to life again, this time with a performance I've never had....=)
Is there any way to tone down the intensity of the haptic motor? It's just way too much. Plus it's way to loud...

Hi Pure+
I am not sure for the z4, but I know for some of the older models you could just go to Menu - Settings - Sounds. Then under Feedback, press Vibration intensity and select what you like best on the slidebar.
Hope this helps!

This phones vibration is way too intense. It would be great to tone it done, say in the region of a M9/S6/Nexus device. Hell, even the z3 series vibration was a lot better.
Sent from my E6553 using Tapatalk
i think they use diff vibrator. i believe once root is achieved, the chance is high to mod the intensity.
