Hello xda and samsung gear users,
I have samsung gear with null rom v23 (custom android) installed on it. My question is how it can be increased or removed the screen timeout of the watch? Currently the watch only allows maximum 5 minutes.
Maybe an additional android app installed? I don't know.
Many Thanks,

I have few questions to discover the best performance of my phone:
1. How to enhance (Increase) Sound Clarity & Level for the S3 Mini?
2. How can I set up Multi User Account? I am using 4.1.2 Android version.
3. Is there Motion Sensing app to control my device?
Thanks-

have you done a google search?
I had my Note 3 long before I picked up my Gear, and as with all things, I made some adjustments to my Note 3 software experience to improve it for my use. This has had some undesirable effects on the Gear and I just want to list out what I have done and what effects it had on my Gear for awareness so those of you who plan to make changes to your Note will know what you're getting into.
I have made the following changes to my Note 3:
Rooted
Frozen all Knox apps/services
Frozen some other misc bloat
Nova Launcher set as default Launcher
S for Switch Voice installed (overrides S Voice with Google Now and gives you a Moto X - like Touchless control)
Dynamic notifications set as default lock screen
Adway blocking ads
Samsung TTS frozen (to fix the Accessibility bug for Pebble)
I usually don't modify my devices too heavily, but I really felt like my Note needed some of this and some features (such as Dynamic Notifications and S for Switch Voice) give me a Moto X type experience that I miss when using the Note. Below are the effects I have noticed this having on my Gear:
No voice feedback for S Voice on Gear (probably due to S for Switch Voice or Samsung TTS being disabled)
Notifications delay - Because of Dynamic Notifications, if my phone is face up out of my pocket, my watch will not receive a notification until the screen turns off. This is because the display is effectively on. This isn't a huge issue because if my phone is face up and I can see it, I'm not going to read the notification on my watch anyway. Most of the time, it's when it's in my pocket that I need the Gear to step in and in those cases, the notifications are instantaneous.
Occasional network errors when using S Voice - May be due to adblock (which I will not give up).
This is all I have really noticed so far. I will update this post if I discover anything else. I hope this helps anyone considering getting a gear and/or making any of these modifications on their Note 3. Happy Gearing.
I thanked your post for showing me that "S for Switch Voice" exists. Now, if we can just get a way to stream Google Now + Audio to the watch, we'd be golden.
Hi. I have Galaxy tab A 8.0 that is running Lollipop 5.0.2 The device is rooted. I need to find an application that can take screenshots every 60 sec. It needs to run in a background without any notifications or icons in notification area. There is an app called Screenshot Ultimate - I tried it and it makes only black pics. Maybe there is similar screen video recorders? Let me know.
a Tasker plugin that controls the backlight of your hw/capacity buttons in your rooted device.
it is tested only Samsung Galaxy s4
https://play.google.com/store/apps/...ukis.tasker.plugin.buttonvacklightconttroller
i only tested it , in the only device i have samsunbg galaxy s4 ( Touchwiz based rom) .
It needs root and tasker to run
It works on:
Samsung Galaxy S4
Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge
Working on G935A
Just installed and looks like it is working on my Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge. Set it up to stay on when I have an application running in the foreground.
So far So Good. Thanks
I made a profile in Tasker to open the backlight of buttons when the screen is on.
now its open source : https://github.com/angaratosurion/ButtonBacklightTaskerPlugin
Is there a way to port the A30's AOD to the A20?
There is a thread with all the apps. You can just install those apps and the plugins and the AOD feature will appear integrated into your settings. Look for it on here on Xda. That's what I did.
