Speed throttling on unlocked att on 3g network - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge

I am using unlocked s6 edge in pakistan. But when i connect it to 3g network signals drop a little and speed is limited to 0.05mbps download and 0.13mbps upload. Even if i switch to 2g network i get higher speeds. Is there any solution . If anyone can please help me.
And i have tried putting my sim in other phone and speed is around 8mbps so network is nt the problem

T-Mobile UK and HSDPA

I have been doing speed tests with my HSDPA and 3G and found HSDPA to not be any faster. After a quick call to T-Mobile it turns out Web'n'walk customers do not recieve HSDPA speeds.
You wil get the little H and your phone will connect using the HSDPA protocol but the speeds will be capped at 3G rates, your battery just drains faster.
To get HSDPA speeds you need to upgrade to web'n'walk plus or max and then the cap comes off.
So, if you want more battery power and your on web'n'walk I suggest turning it off.
so what speeds do you get?
i can get hspda speed on my web'n'walk deal. only took it out in july. dunno if its changed since then......
Hmmm....Id also be interested to see what numbers you get....
The talk about limited speeds for those who do not have good speeds on web'n'walk is crap, it is only about making people pay more.
Providers do not have any policy on their users using HSDPA/ 3G/ HSUPA.
If you have an HSDPA capable phone and you are in coverage the phone will use it.
A long time ago I bought a contract for internet over GPRS and the contract stated that I was only allowed to use GPRS. I also had a modem that was only GPRS capable (do not laugh, it was quite a few years ago). The contract also gave me UNLIMITED access to the internet.
After 2 months I purchased a modem capable of usigng EDGE and was using it a lot. They were never able to cut my transfer down because the contract said UNLIMITED access. They never said a work about me using EDGE instead of GPRS because they did not access such data.
If you are getting low sppeds on HSDPA, either the coverage is weak or you have HSDPA turned off in the phone.
I have a data packet with Vodafone UK and they recently upgraded my area to HSDPA and I am able to watch a 7 min youtube video without any stuttering after only 11 secs of loading.
Just because you have a HSDPA enabled phone, and web and walk does not mean you will get HSDPA speeds. You need to ensure that you are on a package that enables you HSDPA, or you ring and check your SIM is provisioned for it.
When I first went to T-mo I got the samsung Z560 as it was a HSPDA phone. Ran some tests and found I was only getting around 300kbps. Rang T-mo and had to move a tier of web'n'walk. They also had to provision my SIM for HSDPA.
That's the same for me. It's like having a 2mbit broaband connection - you're still on a 16mbit line (or whatever your exchange's max speed is) but not connecting on that speed until you upgrade your package.
I noticed an instant difference when I upgraded to WnW Plus. Now I can get Sky Player, BBCi Player etc when connected to a laptop, whereas I couldn't before on 3G speed.
So it's correct, if you are not getting high speed access but your phone is connecting with an 'H', turn it off and save the battery.

[Q] vodafone uk 3g issues?

Having slight issues with my note on vodafone Uk, whenever I try to browse the internet and the 3g sign in status bar shows weboages don't load at all, when the H is showing bam they load really fast, and even when the E is showing they load but slowly, which is to be expected with edge. So why wouldn't it be loading when on 3g? Have I got some setting wrong on the phone?
HSDPA is faster than 3G.
3G (3rd Generation of Telecommunication Standards) is a standard of cellular connectivity which allows for speeds of up to 384 Kb/s downstream and 64 Kb/s upstream. 3G HSDPA is a 3G enhancement. HSDPA (High-Speed Downlink Packet Access) is a new mobile data protocol and is sometimes referred to as a 3.5G. Theoretically, HSDPA speeds can reach 3.6 Mbps downstream and 348 Kbps upstream. But the purpose of putting both on a smartphones is to make sure that your phone get internet access even when the other one is not available or have no access
possibly an issue with vodafone, have you contacted them to see if there are any issues?
as for the above post, totally irrelevant and hsdpa wil lgo alot faster than 3.6

Yeah they seems to think my sim card needed resetting, but hasn't made a difference, still does it. Hopefully someone has the same issues with a work around searched the net for hours, with not effect. The other weird thing is if its stuck on 3g and not loading I usually disable data on power button menu then er enable and H usually comes back and it works again, even if I turn it to GSM only in network setting, so Edge is only possible it works fine also just takes ages to load any pages which is annoying!
how long you had the sim card? it might be a provisioning issue with it
You think? Well I've had it a few years now like, 3 I think.
Vodafone SIM card works fine in my Note (SIM free from Germany).
I'd suggest try your SIM card with a different phone and try a different SIM card in your Note if possible to see if the fault is with your SIM card or Note.
P.S. Are you using any custom ROM? Could be a problem there.
No I'm on stock rom kka, yeah sure its something today with network or sim card, just rang them to get a new similar. Hopefully that will sort it out.
.
Fixed my issue, turns out it was happening a lot with people who have the galaxy s2, needed to enter code *#301279#, and release 5 hspa only, then disable fast dormancy mode on the phone, now I'm getting fast 3g everywhere :-D
It does say 3g and not just g?
if youre in the uk and only getting edge or gprs it may not be the phones fault.
I had a similar issue, we all assume we can get full 3G everywhere, not necessarily.
To solve this you need to buy the Vodafone sure signal box, it basically plugs into your home broadband router and then transmits full 3g around your house to whatever numbers you register on the box, including dongles.
The whole family can use it as you can register 32 numbers into it.
Cost about £50 new, i have a BNIB never been used or taken out of the box new one here, up for sale as it happens for £25.
Anyone interested should PM me....
Or you could just use wifi as you are at home anyway.
As I said sorted the issue it had something to do with the phone locking into search for hspa, and not reverting back to 3g when there wasn't any hspa signal. Apparently its a problem Samsung are working on. But the little fix of only scanning for 3g works for now, and I did a bandwidth test on hepatitis, and 3g, and 3g was actually faster. So not bothered.
Great find bud u should start another thread explaining the steps in a guide cause this is great info for Vodafone UK users

[Q] Galaxy Note GT-N7000 on Simple Mobile somtime getting H+ internet speed

Hi there ...
I'm new here and this is my first thread ...
I'm using Samsung Galaxy Note GT-N7000, rooted , running Android 4.04
I was so excited when I first got the phone, but can not get any faster than Edge (E) internet speed
Just yesterday I noticed I'm getting 3G speed when its idle and H+ when browsing the internet (only in the subdivision where I live as soon as I leave my area I get the E speed)
The sad part the 3G only works rarely and in some areas ... else where still works on Edge (E) speed
I Called Simple Mobile customer service ... told me they are not supporting Galaxy Note on their network
I'm just wondering if anyone getting 3G speed on their Galaxy Note using Simple Mobile ?
By the ways ... I live in Houston, TX -USA ( it might be lack of regional area coverage)
Thanks,
-Ahmed

Have you tried to change the Network mode to WCDMA only. Am in India & for 3G only I keep the setting to WCDMA only, so that it does not go to EDGE/2G speeds..
But it may be different for your carrier. Wait for somebody from your location or with knowledge of the same to answer..

Simple Mobile is using T-Mobile Network.
Previously you only got 2G/EDGE because the Note don't support T-Mobile H+ frequency (AWS).
But T-Mobile starting to add H+ PCS(1900MHZ with the Note support) support in some area, that's why you got faster speed with the Note in those area.
This is totally depends on operator, you need not to do anything.
You can see 3G while you are in coverage area of 3G, while you are under 3G coverage, when there is active data connection it will show you H or H+ to get fast data exchange and there is no active data connection again it switch to 3G
now E appears when you run out of 3G coverage. that means very few places you have 3G coverage.

[Q] Slow T-Mobile 4G LTE?

I haven't tested this out thoroughly but sometimes downloads seem really slow even though my connection says I'm connected to 4G LTE with a couple of bars, almost 2G speeds. Did any of you t-mobile users out there change any of your APN settings? I live in the DC area.

Unstable and slow 4g airtel signal

Hey guys i have taken my brothers letv le2 phone. And iam facing airtel 4g signal issues. The speed of the net is very slow as compared to net speed when i put the same sim on my asus device. Also the 4g signal is very unstable. For sometime it connect to 4g then the data connection get lost for 4-5 second ( i think because of shifting to another frequency band i.e. gsm) . When i was using jio sim in letv le2 i was getting the same speed as compared to when i was using it on asus phone. I think reason may be as jio have only 4g bands thats why my le2 was not changing its band to gsm band, and net connection was stable. If anyone faced this problem then please give some suggestions. Should i switch to another rom? And currently i am using eui 5.9 21s. And also i have changed the bands to lte by *#*#4636#*#* and changing apn bearer to lte, but after some the band automatically shifts from lte to unknown.
Did you get any solution? I'm facing exactly same problem.
