Hi,
First off I bought my T-mobile branded Streak 7 from Craigslist a week ago before Dell announced that only the WiFi and unlocked Streaks would get 3.2! I was soo MAD!! So i posted my Dell on craigslist for dirt cheap on October 7th at 5:00 p.m. When I got home all on the sudden at 9:00 p.m. California time I got a notification that an update was available!! I proceeded to jump up and down and hit the download the update!! I went through all the steps and I have an official 3.2. streak T-mobile version!! I bought it from someone who stated it was new and I only used it on WiFi, So I thought I would be skipped on the update. Guess only the t-mobile version's that were activated on t-mobile are affected?
Battery life is still the same and most of my apps work, except NetFlix!!
Anyone else rocking the official update on there t-mobile?
What rom version do you have? It was likely updated with a wifi/retail rom and not a tmo one as they dont exist

Ok im lost u have a branded tmobile device and you got a official hc up date from dell? How the hell.
does it actually have the Tmo logo on back of device?
even then could be faked... just syaing.. I hope its legit..
if so please PM TheManii.. he will be interested.
This might be great news!
Hi,
Ya I it came in the official T-Mobile box and paper work, and the T-mobile data only sim!! I took my sim outta my Dell Streak 5, which is also on T-mobile and it worked! But when i tried to browse the net I keep being re-directed to the T-mobile site!! It does show the 4g logo and edge too when I'm out of range. (My Dell Streak 5 I bought from Craiglister who bought it in Australia so I have been using a T-Mobile sim for years!
I'm guessing cause I was to lazy to get a t-mobile broadband plan. I was using only with WiFi.. So it was never registered with t-mobile. That's my best guess. I will post a photo of the info tonight.

It is 3.2 along with the Dell Stage widgets. Listen guys I have no reason to be pulling anything over on anybody.. I was so Mad when I read on Dell that all but t-mobile streaks would be updated. I promise I'll post more info tonight.. I was No [email protected]#! way when I saw the update notification!
Ya it is the WiFi Retail honeycomb version! Every T-mobile app was missing, like Blockbuster, t-mo tv, but I can download them from the market.
???????????????
this is likely that unbranded update posted on streaksmart. Like you said If the device has never been registered on tmobile... but how would they actually keep track of this for the update... hmmm I dont know. But congratulations buddy, make sure to pm The Manii in case this is something new.
Photos added.
Hey everybody! Well I add some photos, but let me know if I should add more!
That's the unbranded US 4G one, you cant officially flash it from the previous tmo roms
By unbranded, do you mean the one that hasn't the "T-mobile" decal in the back?
because i have one that doesn't have the decal in the back, but it IS branded "t-mobile" (i have the T-mobile SIM and everything).
is the same?
I mean the rom, the Tmo s7 is the only physically branded device dell sells.
I'm talking about the rom as it's region 30 which is "dell" or "US" region
Tmo roms are 33 which is "tmobile" region roms
Isn't the point that it got sent to his tablet in the first place?
Sent from my Nexus S using XDA Premium App
Thanks Smurphjw! My point was only that I got the update and nothing else! So maby T-Mo users might get the update too, with out having to root. I understand that the rom is unbranded, but Dell was clear that only WiFi Streaks would gt the update.
I seriously doubt it was on an unmodified device as the update script in the pkgs only checks two things before installing:
1) If the device is a streak7
2) what region it is (out of either "tmo (33)" "Boss (00)" - which is what the EU regions use" and "US (30)")
The flashable zips I released only did two things: remove those two checks and remove the modem updates

I have a quick question. Since all you did was remove the checks and modems, why can't one just change the zip file to update.pkg and use the stock recover to flash to HC? Why does one have to install CWM and then install the zip?
Or just change the region to (33), and then we can use the package without CWM? (I know, it is probably too simple, or it would have been done this way already).
The stock recovery decrypts pkgs, that's what makes pkgs different.
If you simply renamed the zip to pkg it would try and decrypt that and would end up with garbage. The stock rec has no options, it will only "decrypt the pkg" -> "attempt to flash decrypted pkg". Only way to flash something with the stock one is to first encrypt it correctly so it will decrypt it on it's own
Changing the region requires modifying the recovery image, which has already been done with links on the update guide

OK, thanks for the explanation. I'm still on Froyo, but I may update at some point. It seems pretty clear, and easy except for having to get CWM on the S7.

If you look at the photos I posted under the firmware it shows I have the US 30. I never posted trying to tick anyone else off. I never modified my Streak, but I give up, because apparently I'm lying according to ThManni. I only wanted to post my good news, and give some hope to others. When I bought my Streak it came in a sealed box with all the plactic on screen and back of unit. Sorry to all who dought me when I say I never modified my streak at all.
Hi,
I have a L920, originally Rogers (CA) ROM. I flashed it into Euro Dev a long time ago, and it worked just fine until yesterday on my AWS provider (Mobilicity).
As with previous OTA updates, carriers started to deploy theirs, and I didn't get a notification for mine until yesterday. Did the OTA and as soon as phone started with 8.1, I was showing 'No service'. If I did a manual search, neither Mobilicity nor Wind would show, only CDN Roaming (Rogers), and Bell.
After a few hours with the (un)support of both MS and Nokia, I gave up and decided to flash back. I flashed it back to Rogers WP 8.1, and same thing. I reflashed it to the previous OS I had (Euro Developer, 8.0 GDR 3) and same thing.
My guess is that the AWS frequency is now somehow lost, since the previous Euro version had it and now it doesn't.
Anyone has heard anything about this? And, more importantly, anyone has any idea how to get my AWS back?
Your help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Just checking so that smarter folks can help you: Did you by any chance do a factory reset at any point post-update?
Also, please post your OS and FW numbes, just in case.

Thanks for your reply.
Yes, I've done several hard resets, and nothing changed. I have flashed it with several FWs, even the ones I previously had, but no luck. Rogers Portico is as far as I could go, because I can't find Pre-Portico. Here's the FW history:
- Rogers Pre-Portico (factory installed)
- Euro Dev GDR1 (flashed)
- Euro Dev GDR2 (OTA)
- Euro Dev GDR3 (OTA)
- Euro Dev WP8.1 (OTA) - this is when the frequency got messed up
I then flashed these, which I had kept the FWs just in case, but no luck in getting the frequency back:
- Euro Dev GDR3
- Euro Dev GDR2
- Rogers GDR3
- Rogers Portico
Right now it's with 1232.5957.1308.0000.
Hope it's clearer now. And if someone knows where to get Rogers Pre-Portico (or Apollo), I'd appreciate it. That's the only hope I have left at the moment, because both Nokia and WP support proved to be incompetent and unwilling to help in this case.
Thanks again.
Hmm...smarter folks have no yet weighed in, I'm afraid! Most likely they are thinking about your problem and/or working on other stuff.
So, my thought is that somewhere along the line, you debranded your phone - disconnecting the provisioning somehow - by doing factory resets (which is, after all, a normal course of action from troubleshooting techs at MS/Nkoia/wherever).
I (and others) had a similar thing happen with my ATIV Neo S - although I never lost the ability to make calls. After manually programming the cell data provisioning, I'm still unable to send/receive MMS. The newest version of 8.1 I have at least now allows me to make and retain some changes (##3282#), but not others (such as MMSC URL).
Have you compared your current provision settings with those from your carrier (or those originally with the phone)? Can you do a PRL update? If not, what error does it throw?
The most importing thing to note as you are flashing is if the firmware of the radio is changing. This is shown in the "Settings -> About" page. Make sure that after you are done flashing the different FFUs, that the "Radio Software Version" is changing. My guess is that since you changed ROMs, an OTA update was delivered to the radio as part of the Windows Phone update. It accidentally ran on your phone because the CID that the phone reported from the radio firmware matches a Rogers update. Now that this has been updated, the radio version isn't downgrading. (That is just my guess). Make sure that the radio firmware is changing as you apply FFUs and post back.
Recently I noticed that the IMEI on my Turbo had been cleared to 0. I am not 100% sure when this happened and the device still worked fine in this state. At some point I flashed the newest radio package SU4TL-49. I was having some issues after that so I flashed the SU4TL-44 package to see if I could switch back. It seemed to work. Later I switched back to SU4TL-49. Could this have caused the issue? Recently I flashed the full Verizon Retail Stock Lollipop 5.1 /// XT1254_QUARK_VERIZON_5.1_SU3TL-38_38_CFC.xml.zip. Then I updated to the latest OTA. Still no IMEI. Any ideas how I can restore it?

better question is how did you obtain this phone? usually, the IMEI never changes, regardless of ROM, SIM Card, radio, etc. this is used to identify to the carriers that your phone is valid (not stolen). can you confirm that you are able to make phone calls?
otherwise, you might want to search for "Fix IMEI"

I bought it from Verizon when it was released and have had it since. I had a SIM in it until a couple of days ago when I picked up the Pixel. I had it on Verizon with no issues. On My Verizon it said it was a non Verizon device and showed the 0 IMEI too. I'm kind of surprised it was working. I was wondering if it was hardware related. From what I was reading you can't typically change it like you said.

Google search. There's lots of posts on how to fix IMEI as long as you have the original box with your original IMEI.

I do have the original IMEI. I cant find the correct process to update it however. I've done a lot of research, but all I can find is bits and pieces relating to other devices.

This is the best info I got, but I cannot get the device to be recognized properly. The setprop command didn't work until I installed CM12. Then i can get as far as having a Marshall London HS-USB Diagnostics 901D device show up. I cant do anything with it at that point.

I just got brand new Xperia X Performance that came with 6.0.1, and I'm trying to figure out why I can update it. It's unlocked but not rooted, basically right from the factory as far as I know.
When I go into Software Update in the phone's settings, it says "Your device already has the latest available system updates."
When I use the Sony app on my PC it says my system software is up to date.
I actually can't find anything about this issue, anybody here have any ideas?
Thanks!
try downloading and running xperifirm, find out if your region has the update at all, you should be able to update atleast to 7 anyway
There are a few variants that are considered as internal units or something like that and they don't get OTA updates, also HK units were stuck on 7 for some reason last time I checked. Mine is a french model, and yesterday I received the april security patches while the global variant got it two months ago

Here's a screenshot of Xperiafirm. https://ibb.co/dUCN3T
I'm in Canada, though I'm on Freedom Mobile, not Rogers or Bell. I don't think my carrier ever sold this phone, and I'm not sure what would happen if I flashed 8.0 made for Bell or Rogers phones.
Ideally I'd like 7.1.1 Canadian generic for Xperia X Performance, but I can't seem to find that anywhere.
I've also never done this so I don't really know what I'm doing, and don't want to void my warranty!
Thanks for you help!!
Good the ROMs that you see for Canada are all latest 8.0 with May security patches and maybe your phone is one of these and the updates just got stucked for some reason.
First you have to check what kind of model you have to check this, to do so you should open the dialler and type
*#*#7378423#*#*
From the service menu you should select -> Service Info -> Software Info and look for Customization Version:
As I said mine is a french model so it states 1302-9342_R2E your should be something different but only the first 8 numbers matter
then look this number in Xperifirm if yours is everything different from Internal Unit (second column from the screenshot) then there is a easy way to try and update without loosing your warranty
First there is always a risk! But I have done this a few times for my Xperia U and Xperia M5 and had no problems at all.
Do a backup - contacts...everything you need as it will delete them
charge the phone to at least 80%
then you should go to the Xperia Companion and do a software repair, not update but repair
It should install the latest version for your phone but it shows the version it installed only when it's finished...
Even if it has not installed the latest update then just connect the phone to your wifi/LTE and try the OTA updates again (could take up to an hour)
This is the safest way that will not void your warranty in any way but will delete your info (contacts, pics..etc. ) so do a backup prior
And if possible use a laptop with a working battery as even a 1 second glitch in the grid could cause the phone to get bricked
And if your phone is imported from China and the customization number is considered as an Internal Unit the only way you could get 7.0 or 8.0 is by flashing and another ftf file as the ones for Bell Canada or Rogers, there are actually some ROMs uploaded in XperiaBlog
there could be some in XDA but I have not search for any

Thanks so much for the reply...I discovered the version of Android installed on my phone is a version meant for Journalists/Reviewers/Commercial use, and can not be updated. I just got a refund for the 3-year warranty portion of my purchase after pointing this out to them. So after the 90 day warranty that came with it runs out, I'll be able to do anything I feel like with this device.
I'll be looking for a safe way to install 7.1.1 hopefully, and if not then 8.0. There seem to be less issues with 7.1.1, but there's really only one way to find out: when I start using it.
I'll definitely need a point in the right direction when it comes to that though. I understand Sony has an official flashing tool, and you have to unlock the bootloader (which is supported on my phone even with this version). But I haven't done it before and don't know how.

Note 8 is unlocked and currently with T-MOBILE, previously AT&T. I've search all day today and still can't find why I don't have the Oreo update yet. I apologized in advance if this was already talked about, I only saw discussions about it being rooted. I want to keep it stock. Thanks

You can check for latest firmware related to your specific model on sammobile.com, then download through updato.com (or using the SamFirm tool) and flash it through Odin.

Since you're using it with T-Mobile and it was previously AT&T you're not going to get updates anymore unless you use an AT&T sim card.. The only way to get the updates at this point is to download the update firmware yourself and flash it through odin. The reason being is because T-Mobile doesn't carry AT&Ts firmware updates so you have to get it yourself.. It's easy as hell to find the firmware on places like Android File Host. Also do not download T-Mobile firmware it will not flash... Use AT&Ts firmware only.
I have a AT&T iPhone 7 from work, you guys think if I take that SIM and put it into the Note 8 the updates would come through? I was looking through the Sam mobile thing. You guys make it seem easy to manually update and I'm terrified being my first time doing it that way. But if you think the SIM card swap would work I'll give that a try first.

The sim card swap should work.. Can't hurt, try it and then check for updates.
It worked!!!
I swapped out the sim cards and it worked!
I ended up having to back up the device and restore, since the update wasn't showing up. I cleared the cache, checked and nothing. After restoring the phone the update became available. After the 8.0.0. update there was about 4 updates after (security patches). I'm now on 8.0.0 with Aug 2018 security patch. I put my tmobile sim card back in and restarted the phone. I even get the tmobile screen during boot up which I never gotten since I switched back in February. All in all it's working fine. I'll update if anything crops up. Thank you all for your help!
You can push software update with this procedure.
put this in your phone app: *#8736364#
Then go to Field Test mode.
Change "Device Initiated date" to one or a few minute ahead. wait until you see "SET" then press Home.
Wait until you see software update to kick it.
Try several times if it doesn't work at first.
