Xperia z(c6602).
I'm on rooted 4.4.4 locked bootloader with dual recovery. I could not update through the OTA since it enters it TWRP rather than stock recovery to update.
Can I directly flash FTF file of 5.1.1?
Is there anyway to way remove the Dual recovery and restore stock recovery?
Is there any other way to update to 5.1.1 without unlocking bootloader?
Please tell me any other solutions. Thank you

You can flash ftf without problems. If you want to save your files uncheck WIPE/DATA on flashtool

Hi there guys,
I need some help with root,
I'm on the latest firmware on my Xz, with the latest build 10.4.1.B.0.101 (Android 4.3)
I've heard that it's fairly impossible to root right now?
But if there is someone who can help me, that would be damn great.
Coming from a Samsung device, so expecting a learning curve right here.
Cheers guys!

I'm still questionable about the ftf file, I mean, does the flashtool recognize the file itself, and will it download it to my phone after the procedure, the rest of the story is quite clear, but still kind of scared to get the root.

I don't really understand your question, but yes, flashtool is able to flash the chosen .ftf file to your phone. When you choose an ftf file from flashtool, it recognizes the content of the ftf file and you can choose which partitions you want to be flashed (if you wanna skip some).
How to distinguish between my device is the new bootloader or old bootloader?
When I flash Community ROM V1.1(Samsung stock 4.4.2 rom,N7105 port),I downloaded Boeffla kernel for old bootloader and for new bootloader.
I have flashed the Samsung 4.3 official firmware for TGY.Does that mean my device is new bootloader yet?
If not,How to update my device to new bootloader?
Who can help me?
My device type is GT-I9305.

If you flashed a stock 4.3 then you have the new bootloader
You can decompression stock bootloader.img
than:“fastboot flash bootloader bootloader.img”

i also wanted to tell you that my bootloader is unlocked :
I'm a custom guy so if it were me, I would just install twrp, install custom rom like CM or custom based on stock. You should have a twrp recovery in place before tampering with build.prop
Is it possible to install recovery in 5.1.1 (10.7.A.0.222) Locked Bootloader?
EDIT - I have rooted 5.1.1 with Locked Bootloader

EDIT 2 - Finally Figured out. Installed NUT's dual recovery. Works perfect
You need root to install recovery and to get root you need to unlock your bootloader or flash a pre rooted firmware. There is no known exploit to root current firmwares.

Hello, i have xperia z with custom rom CYANOGEN 13 (6.0.1.) i want to go back to stock 4.2.2. Everytime i try to boot from "sony mobile flasher" its says "error: - null and error: flash aborted". What should i do? :crying::crying::crying::crying:
it looks like you have unlocked the bootloader of the device(xperia z),you need to dowload the .ftf(sony firmware file) and flash it via flash tool..
official sony suite won't work to unlocked devices..
