LG L90 Question and Help on updating - LG Optimus L90

So i have an LG L90 which i updated via phone OTA update to android 5.0.2 official lollipop, but i encountered an unusual issue.
The phone worked fine for 2-3 days than all apps in the apss>ram usage were restarting,so that caused the phone to lag,to load UI over and over again, programs also...this only was solved with restart, and that would give it again 2-3 lag-free days
So i downgraded it back to kitkat, and it is fine.
After that i rooted it using root scirpt for G3,but it is working for L90 also.
Now i am considering to try to update it once more to LP but this time via pc,maybe that will solve the problem ?
Now the question is
1. Will i be able to update it via pc,because of root...i don't want to brick it
2. Does someone know what was the problem first time with lollipop, and will the pc update method solve that
Thanks in advance
(sorry for typo mistakes if there are any)

Anyone knows the problem,or has something to suggest
btw phone model is D405N

Stock lollipop on this phone is known to have that problems.
I wouldn't recommend the upgrade to lollipop at all.. You could try to install CM custom roms, they work better than stock.

What I've done trying to minimize this:
1. Make UI faster speeding up animations
2. Avoid apps that run in the background all the time (background services that stay open always) like whatsapp and facebook
3. Modified Low Memory Kill limits a bit.

[Q] How To Determine Bootloader Are You On?

Hello all. I want to ask one question: How to determine what bootloader I am on, since I've lost track and worried that I will brick my phone when flashing other rom (Tempted to try Paranoid Android) .
Currently I'm using LiquidSmooth. My friend advised me to post a question here since he don't sure what's bootloader I was on since I used to flashed i9220LP1-N7000-ICS-Repack.
Thank you in advance.
As long as you haven't flashed the LP5 full leak that had a locked bootloader you are safe.
Just follow the instructions in the paranoidandroid thread and you'll be fine.
Id like to know which bootloader im on aswell. Please help us on determining which one we are on.

Cool..
Anyway can I check it somewhere, just to make sure of it?
And what if I was flashing LP5? What can I do?

Your lag is caused by the kernel and your personal setup (too many apps, perhaps).
Bootloader has nothing to do with it whatsoever.
Bootloader consists of a set of instructions helping the speed and efficiency of the boot sequence.
It plays no part in the subsequent performance of your phone.
Wonderfully confused again due to lack of technical knowledge...
If I used imilka's CM9 based on leak repack, then flashed GB through PC Odin, then safe, official CM9, there are still traces of that leak in my system...?

first thanks for ur reply
but i test my statusbar after installing the rom directly without mc or sim card and after some time to let the os settle and that's the same problem
i dont think that my note is broken
I don't know if this is relevant or not. On the kernel version shows: 3.0.15-I9220ZCLP5-CL295568. Is it LP5?

Random reboots

Hi guys
A friend of mine has a problem: his Galaxy keeps restarting randomly for no reason, many times in a day while using it.
What is weird: the phone hasn't ever been rooted/flashed with a custom rom, neither updated, always been 100% original. Just a normal usage!
I'm not much into this phone, so i don't know if it's a known issue or what.. but it sounds strange to me, possible hardware problem? Needs to be flashed or rooted? Other?
I've already done a factory reset and now i took off the sd-card to see if it could be it, but i'd appreciate some advices!
Thanks
Try updating it with kies, might help but can't guarantee
if random reboots happens while using too much mobile resources then its normal for galaxy mini like phone
Random Reboots might be device specific or not , It depends.
But you may want to visit the samsung care center in your vicinity area just to be sure about the latter .
Else just flash a new stock Rom via ODIN (not that it would leave your device impure as rooting does ).

Is Froyo the last "official" release or was a Gingerbread leaked/official firmware released? I'll probably try flashing something, don't know yet if a custom rom could solve the problem but still it's a possibility

With mobile resources you mean 3G/wifi or RAM? By the way in both the cases i don't think it's the problem, since there aren't many apps in background and the only one using internet connection is whatsapp!
Thanks for the replies :good:

The last official android update for for sgm was gingerbread based api.
Try flashing the stock gingerbread on the device via odin (google it if you don't know how to.) and then try custom roms.
Also the thing about resources, you already know about our sgm aka lil'g . Its not that powerful as most quad core latest devices boosted by plenty much RAM. So multitask on it wisely.

I'll try with gingerbread when i see my friend, thanks! I own a i9000 and flashed pretty much so i know odin and similar stuff, no problem
And yes i tried the mini many times, doesn't have a bunch of ram but still i think it can't be a ram-lack problem since it did the same also after the factory reset, with few apps installed!
Thanks again for the help :good:
Oh, was forgetting: how does the cyano run on the mini? Smooth? Battery killer or ok for everyday use?
Try cm7 by mebitek. Despite its source code is old and official cm7 is way more ahead of it, the mebitek's cm7 relays on battery & performance like a pro..
by resources I mean more ram and CPU usage
background apps ( they don't play big role as they get closed automatically)
running big games (HD one)
etc.
if you have many apps, cut the .android_secure folder and paste it on your computer.. i had this problem with the stock GB 2.3.6.. reboots reboots and reboots!! i pasted the folder in my comp, delete unnecessarily used apps and VOILA! it was running smooth again.. but now i'm using cm7..
I updated to official gingerbread release, then after putting all the (few) apps into phone storage i removed every android-secure file!
I'll see how it goes with this, if the problem remains i'll try a cyano or go directly to the service center
Thanks again for the tips!

The latest (12.1.A.1.201) is a little better on ram but still not that good
There is no real way to root except by downgrading to 4.1 then upgrading via CWM
Wiping apps from rom is never a good Idea, tho if u have root u can play around with low memory killers and OOM'S but i suggest u stay away from em if ur a newbie
If you are looking for performance i suggest go back to 4.1
But if u are okay with a little lag, and optimizing the phone, then root and stay on 4.3 (also if u want the UI of 4.3). There are some guides to speed up ur phone on 4.3 i believe
For me i am unrooted on 4.3, but i have disabled heavy ram eating apps like google play services, google play store, maps and etc, still it is no way near what i can get from root
I have told u i believe all ways, it is your choice for what u want now

i suggest u too look away from Sony stock.. if u are unlocked try custom rom ... got around like 500mb free ram.. after install apss got like 400+ free... even if yr phone are locked u also try slimROMForLocked but to get those CWM running in locked phone if would be tedious

New to Atrix HD, Please guide

Hi there,
Ok so I just bought this device in dirt cheap. Its Atrix HD MB886 AT&T running on stock 4.1.1
So I have a couple of problems with this device. For the past few weeks I have been running it on completely stock rom, however I've rooted and unlocked the bootloader. It lags a lot. From homescreen if you just swipe to the left to go in quick settings menu it stutters a bit. It stutters sometimes in the app drawer as well. Someone told me that its stock launcher is laggy so I installed Nova Launcher and it was fine for a week or so then same things started to happen. I've just installed apps like facebook messenger, Twitter, Instagram, Whatsapp, Viber and 1 or 2 very light games and my free ram is around 100mb. I've factory resetted the phone countless times and regularly clear the system cache but the problem still persists. So my question is, If I install custom roms on this device will my experience get any better or will it be the same. Thanks please reply
Have you debloated it?

Short answer: Yes, your experience will definitely get better.
But realize that you're living on the edge and there may be random things that may/not work, so you need to get involved with the forums to troubleshoot errors, or wait it out and hope that later versions fix your problems. I'm running a recent building of CM11 with no issues. Battery isn't quite as good as stock, but overall I'm happy with it. Very snappy, no lag, and lots of customization. Enjoy.

It's in my sig. Currently using Epinter's build of CM11, specifically because it works with the older JB bootloaders (like on the Atrix HD). When this phone officially gets KitKat from Motorola, we won't need the special build anymore, and can just go back to using any msm8960 unified ROM.
I would recommend you to use CM 10.2....it is stupidly awesome and it has the best battery life ever..
Please help Me.

Do you have an unlocked bootloader? If not, you cannot flash stock ICS if your phone has stock JB. With an unlocked bootloader, you can install stock ICS.
You are getting the error because you didn't edit or properly edit the XML file in the ROM.

questions about the temasek build
So before I apply the update to the new update to temasek do I need to flash the bootstack for it to work even coming from your optimized cm 12.1 builds? And if so what bootstck do we need? Thanks.
Edit: sorry I guess I read the discussion post to fast, I guess that's for people coming from stock or anything other than kitkat

Thanks! I'm really looking toward to trying this out. Your work on the optimized cm 12.1 was amazing. And I'm still excited for Pitchfork if you are still working on that :good:
Temasek rom on d405N with LG quick case
Hi, am trying your latest right now, great job again.
Clean install using slim mini gaps as per your link.
Some issues/ remarks
1: First boot appears to get stuck on CM boot anim. (blue flashing andr. head) longer than with other roms, then goes straight to lock screen, no android updating popup etc. as has been my experience with other roms. So don't pull the battery too quickly (as I did at first attempt), patience is a virtue:angel:
2: Initial set up menu doesn't get past ''Checking connections'', (this may take up to 2 minutes) yeah right, so I hit back and skip and I setup wifi later.
3: Takes longer than for instance your optimized rom to get a cell connection after inserting sim pin.
4: Root acces problems. As has been mentioned in main thread.
5: Quick case working as it should opening and closing the case, missing other functionality, but this is great:highfive:,
That's it for quick impressions, keep up the good work and good night.
Is this rom working better than CM12.1? Does apps start up faster etc...
Love the ROM so far! Default CM root was working until the first reboot (tested with su command in the virtual terminal). The su command in terminal continued to work fine after reboot (remembered permission), but new apps could not get the root request notification. So I had to flash SuperSU as suggested. It does take some time to boot up after the flash but it's well worth. Got like 700 more points in AnTuTu!
Keep up the great work!

You can always try, but considering LP development is going crazy lately, you may or may not run into issues. If you do have an issue, try a clean install

There are kernel settings you can adjust that seem to minimize the reboots. But sometimes without even changing any settings, I can go days without a reboot. Then sometimes I'll get 3 in like an hour or 2. But if you mess with some settings, you can find ways to almost get rid of the random reboots

Well @CaptivateKing, it's the one on Mexican market, as long as I know N is for NFC, i still haven't found out what is it about the H lol, ok... I got great news, I hope these are helpful for other people (not much noisy guys in LatAm trying to mod their LGs I'd imagine, but anyways I'll tell you my experience anyway), not more than 5 minutes ago, I ended up tweaking my D400HN and it's now working beautifully with your ROM mate (thanks a lot, I'm still mesmerized... it's like having a new phone lol), the huge issue with the sim card was the Bootstack... I'll be honest, I started this rom-changing thing with an old but faithful Verizon's Samsung Fascinate I got from the States a while ago, but never worked on LG until now, 6 months ago I decided to pass on my guarantee and rooted the phone and started to tweak it, long story short, I couldn't get it to work on this KDZ app by LG so I was getting desperate, started trying with some ROMs and discovered in a thread (I think it was @Xemidra, or someone else referred someone to his Bootstack thread if I'm not mistaken, [and I'm actually looking for the post to thank him lol]), the thing is that after flashing BOOTSTACK_v1.4_D405N-10F while on your ROM the phone inmediatly recognized my sim card, now im happy... trying to learn little by little about Java and all this new world... I'd really love the camera to record video and that'll be it for your ROM sir... I haven't had not a single reboot, not a glitch or anything, it just gets slightly clumsy at times but it's almost noticeable...
so, THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!

Absolutely love this ROM! Flashed clean 20150606 and than did the OTA update when the new build came out. Recovery script worked fine, automatic reboots, flashing, etc. just like regular OTA update. System UI crashed a couple of times after update, I think because of Nova Launcher. Went back to Trebuchet and it didn't crash since, not even a reboot. Haven't experienced any SIM problems. Enjoying it very much on my LG-D405n.
