Hi,
I've rooted my Fire (5.1.1), installed play store and removed the lock screen ads.
I'm looking for a way to prevent the screen locking being enabled when the device goes to sleep. I know there is a setting under the dev options to do this when the device is on charge.
Ultimately I need the screen to go to sleep then wake up when the camera detects motion. At the moment the screen locks means I have to swipe before having access to the app I need.
Thanks

All I want is a widget/app/shortcut/or whatever to put the phone to sleep WITHOUT triggering the lockscreen. I want to sleep the phone without pressing the power button. I have the lockscreen with a 15 minute timeout and every widget that I find bypasses the timeout and locks instantly.
I have the double tap to wake and my goal is not to use the power button, my case makes them hard to press.
I've been searching all around the internet for this, the closest I got was this, and this tread, but both links on the play store are out.
Thanks in advance.
ive been using this one for years https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.droidmania.lockscreenwidget
but.. everything that turns your screen off will bring up your lickscreen. UNLESS you disable your lockscreen in security settings.
Revoking the permission?
Thanks but Is there a way around that? Maybe revoking the permission to lock so the widget just turns the screen off, like, maybe?

Or look here, Gravity Screen locks and unlocks the screen by movement and detection through the proximity sensor, link https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.plexnor.gravityscreenofffree.
I think this can make the trick, thanks.
Is there anything available in the app store that will allow me to tap an icon and turn off the screen without locking it? I've tried many and each one locks the screen so that I have to enter my PIN. It doesn't allow me to use the face or finger scanner to get back in. I know that it's pretty easy to do when rooted, but can't find a way to do it unrooted.
Hi,
I'm looking for a way to unlock my screen to toggle VPN (Android default VPN since there doesn't seem any decent third-party app out there, which supports IPsec-VPNs) on while on specific wifi network. Everything is working fine except the screen unlock, since Autoinput doesn't work with screen off/locked.
I tried of course the Autoinput-Action "Screen unlock" but this doesn't seem to work on a rooted 7.1: Screen just gets turnd on, Notifications jumping a littl ebit up but then the srceen tunrs of again.
Also tried Secure Setting, but this app seems to be long dead...
Any ide, how to accomplish this? And no, Open-VPN is no option, since the target doesn't support it (it would make things so much easier of course since there is a real tasker integration available).
Thanks!
any idea how to get auto input working?
the unlock action can't be configured, so how should this ever work?
so if I understand correctly you want to turn on the screen and unlock it.
you have managed to turn it on, how about turning off screen lock, and then turn it on? then you should be being straight to home screen.
since you are already using Joao's apps, there is something about disabling lock screen in his Autosettings app I think.

thanks for your answer! you are right about what I'm trying to archiv and I guess the Unlock-Action from AutoInput does soemthing similar since it disables the lock screen completely and I have to set it active again after using this task. The disableing works, but the screen doesn't stay on long enough for AutoInput to perform the intended task – the unlock action doesn't have any configuration options, so basically I have to add something, which ensures the screen is on for a certain amount of time
I have Greenify setup on my Note 9. Occasionally, I get an "Auto hibernation issue" warning inside the app after unlocking my device. It says, "Greenify detected an early screen lock before auto hibernation could be performed." I've already gone into the secure lock settings and made sure there's a 15 second delay before screen lock, and that my power button does not instantly lock the phone. What else could possibly be prompting this? It's driving me nuts.
I am trying to disable the screen on my phone to basically emulate the phone is turned off. I am adding this to a fingerprint action and will use another fingerprint action to enable or disable this task. What I have been able to do so far is: when using fingerprint #2 it turns screen off, but there is a delay and the screen powers on for a moment.
I am using a Samsung Note 9 running Q without root.
Thanks,
Acid
