I was wondering, is there a way to use the Chromecast video and Chromecast audio together, IE: have video playing via Chromecast, and the corresponding audio playing through speakers with the Chromecast audio?
Maybe when (if) chromecast also get multiroom/grouping support like audio version have we can do that. Who knows?

That's what I'm on about, I didn't know if there was some type of setting within the app that I didn't know about

How to stream Video only to chromecast not the audio!
I have a laptop connected to the audio system!
now i got chromecast on my projector (have no audio output)
i stream video from my laptop to my projector work fine but i have problem the sound! when i stream any video to chromecast on my computer have to sound of the video im playing!
is there the way to by pass this? stream video but also on pc still play audio of that video?
When you use a native Chromecast app for casting, it "hands off" the request to the Chromecast and the Chromecast itself goes and retrieves the data. Essentially the Chromecast itself plays the content, so the audio and video come out of it.
If you cast a tab or the entire desktop from a PC and don't enable the audio, it should play audio from the PC, but the audio and video probably be out of sync.
Otherwise you will have to "break out" the audio from the HDMI stream with an HDMI audio extractor (make sure it is HDCP compliant) or other converter, or route the Chromecast through a HDMI A/V receiver so it can play the audio.
I apologize. I was incorrect. When you cast a tab or the entire desktop, the Chrome extension somehow mutes the PC audio... which in your case would leave you with no audio at all.
So you'll have to "break out" the audio from the HDMI stream and get audio that way.

Something like the options in the ling below may be what you need.

But in the setup the audio would have to go from this "box" to your audio system.
Chrome cast to "Box"
"Box" to projector for video
"Box" to audio system for audio
I have read that other have used a similar set up to get video and Audio to a monitor that doesn't have a HDMI input. I don't know if sending the Video to the projector and the audio the the audio system would produce sync problems. One way to find out.
I don't see a way to get audio out from you laptop using the Chromecast.
Hope this helps
I was just watching a video on my TV with VLC player using cast entire screen and audio through my PC worked fine, just had to set an audio delay in VLC to get audio synced. I did this thru my bluetooth stereo adapter but I thought there was a minute before I setup the bluetooth that the audio worked through the PC speakers.

It's one of the following...
1 - You need to change settings on the TV to pass Audio or to Use External Speaker (setting vary from model to model so some hunting and pecking for correct settings is in order)
2 - You need to check your HDMI connection between the TV and the Speakers. HDMI-ARC (Audio Return Channel) usually works on only one input of the TV and it should be labeled as an ARC input. If thats correct then check settings (see #1)
3 - If you have an older TV that does not have ARC support you need to connect an Optical Cable from the Audio Out of the TV to the Amp. If you have that then again See #1!
Take note that EACH INPUT on a TV will have it's own Settings for Audio, CEC, and ARC so just setting the TV defaults may not be enough. Check to see if your Inputs have their own Audio/Speaker config settings.
I have a projector and won't to send the video to it with a crime cast. But I don't won't the sound go to it. Instead I will send the sound to my sound system from the htpc Optical port. It this possible?

Got my answer.
Can I use my computer's speakers while casting to Chromecast?
While casting, audio will be redirected to Chromecast, so audio will play out of your TV, not your PC. Besides, even if you got the PC speakers playing audio, it would be out of sync with the video on your TV because of compression/decompression and network transfer delay between your computer and Chromecast.
Hi.
I have a very strange setup in head and I need confirmation before doing anything.
First of all, I wanted to know if I can cast videos using VLC or MXplayer (Or other ?) ? But not local videos, streaming videos (Using wifi).
After that, Can I use a Bluetooth Headset connected to my device without having trouble with audio coming from the cast ?
And finally, Is there better alternative to G Chromecast for what I want to do ?
Thanks for reading.
You want to stream from a local drive on your wifi system and cast to your pre-wifi/ethernet tv via Chromecast? Since I have my tv connected to my router, I don't normally cast local. However, Plex will allow you to create a library of your videos and the app allows casting. Fire stick also uses Plex. I'm sure there are other set-ups, but my local streaming is direct. In fact, I usually use Playstation media server (without the Playstation) via DLNA TV input. As for bluetooth, once you cast, audio is transferred to the viewing device. I have my audio running through an ancient 2-channel Onkyo receiver. I have a bluetooth transmitter in the headphone jack. I use Sony bt phones quite successfully.

Thanks for the audio on bluetooth help.
My files aren't on a local drive. Actually I'm playing streaming video from Video hosting service (Like Youtube, VideoMega, etc...) using HTML link in VLC or MXplayer.
Hello to everybody, thanks for reading.
I will start with facts: on one hand, i have my desktop pc connected via hdmi to my tv, whose analog audio output is connected to my speakers. On the other hand, i also have a Chromecast 2 connected to the tv.
So in both cases, audio output is the same, BUT sounds different (and here's the issue).
For example, when i play anything (netflix, Spotify) through my computer, sound is fine, perfect. But when i do it via Chromecast through my android phone apps, sound is definitely worse: louder and a little bit distorted, like noisier.
I guess that the difference should be on Chromecast or phone audio driver (apparently working worse than pc drivers). But i don't even know if phone's audio is relevant here or not.
What do you think? What can i do? Thanks!
Do you have any other HDMI only devices to check the audio? Maybe there is something wrong in the TV with incoming audio on HDMI.

No, but i tried playing and sending Spotify to Chromecast through another phone, and i detected that sounded different than mine. So each phone's audio driver definitely made the difference by equalizing in different way. So I'm closer to conclude that problem may rely on my phones audio eq

That's so weird because from what I understand the chromecast works by receiving a stream URL and fetching the content itself. Your phones audio eq shouldn't matter.

Check the Apps to make sure they don't have any Audio Boosting features enabled.
Also try lowering the volume on the Apps to see if you can match the sound from the computer.
The Loudness and Distortion sounds to me like you are overdriving the HDMI input past what it should be.
Setting the volume lower should solve that and get rid of the distortion.
I have no issues with the chrome cast. I would check the connection on the TV or it maybe the chrome cast

Results will vary from device to device, TV to TV, App to App....Even from content to content.
Reasons why it can happen include:
Encoder/Transcoder used to create the content or stream boosted audio or failed to set levels to normalize it.
App (used to send the stream) has allowed volume control to boost low audio which would mean full volume on that App is much higher than +4 dBu expected by a digital device. This is done by App devs more for playback on speakers but that extra boost can distort the digital being sent to the CCast. Volume levels out of range will distort as the DSP doesn't know what to do with it. Remember the Device that launched the stream uses it's volume control to tell the CCast what level audio to send to the TV.
It can even be a simple matter of a dirty HDMI connection or bad handshake between the CCast and TV.
Both the CCast and the TV expect what we call a NOMINAL Level or (+4, -10 dBu depending on the TV model). This Level is supposed to allow enough headroom for louder sections to not distort while maintaining a decent range of quiet to loud.
If you go past this you are essentially cutting out whatever headroom exists and at some point everything gets distorted.
The solution is to lower the volume on the input (in this case the App sending the stream) and if needed raise it on the output (in this case the TV).
It may be counter to how Google expected and wanted the CCast system to work but it really is better (albeit less convenient) to control the volume on the TV as opposed to the App. Setting the App to full volume can easily lead to distortion.
Hello everyone,
I was wondering if there was a way of casting the video to the CC and get the audio though the phone so I can listen to headphones.
Thanks in advance

No and it wouldn't work well even if it could since there would be no way to sync the two streams to each other.
Wireless Headphones would seem to be the best solution for you provided the TV has an audio out to plug them into.
Actually, there is a way, sort of. Obviously depends on what you're watching, but if you open the video (or the stream from TerrariumTV) in Localcast, it has a checkbox to route audio to phone!
