help/direction with unlocked 920t - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S6

i have an unlocked 920t (t-mobile) on att network. should i be using the att section for rooting and roms?

No. Roms are based on your phone model. Stick to the TMobile forums. I know with the S4 the international roms are generally compatible as well so you may check in the General S6 forums, too. Most custom roms list which models are compatible in the OP.
Besides, you won't find much here since the att phones have locked bootloader and no root currently.

great, thanks.

AT&T Note 3 ROMS on Tmobile version?

I have an unlocked Tmobile Note 3 (running on AT&T network) and I would like to know if I could install roms from AT&T version on it? If so, do I need to do anything special for it?
In my opinion it would be a downgrade. At&t packs it's devices with bloat.
Any particular reason you want an at&t rom?

[Q] Help a noob please... If I buy an unlocked international S6, its easier to root?

Specifically... the booloader will be unlocakable (or at least easier than carrier restricted versions) and I can falsh roms etc, correct?
I would be bringing this to my T-mobile plan.
Is any of the process made easier by the fact that its an unlocked version?
Thanks in advance

The process would be the same to root and/or unlock the bootloader. Seeing as T-Mobile allows the bootloader to remain unlocked, it's neck and neck with the International variant. I just bought the 920I and that was just because I want to be able to flash custom roms & kernels as soon as they come out, and that's really the only benefit is the dev support. You get wifi calling and LTE advanced calling with the T-Mobile variant so I think if you will be on T-Mobile then I would stick to the T-Mobile S6.

If you have tmobile you're already lucky enough to have an unlocked version. If you buy an international variant then as of now there's a call audio issue regarding using cross variant roms.
If you use a TMO rom on the international variant, you lose call audio and vice versa: using an international rom on a tmo variant. Everything you think you'd be getting as a benefit from purchasing the international variant is actually already included in the Tmo variant.
Verizon and ATT are the ****ers here when it comes to locking their bootloaders.
Buy it from TMO you'll likely save money seen as they're your carrier and it will function properly too.
I'm on xtrestolite with custom recovery root obviously and ktoon kernel if you need proof haha. Tmo S6 here

T-Moble 920T SIM Unlocking and keeping WiFi Calling and VoLTE (Can it be done?)

Guys, I have a question for anyone that's SIM unlocked their 920T's. At the moment, my 920T is running xtresolite 2.2. It's based off a 920F firmware. As you know, this is an International version. To further complicate things, I needed to SIM unlock my phone so right now I'm using the MetroPCS COF9 baseband. Every time I switch back to a T-Mobile based ROM, my SIM unlock gets pulled and the phone is relocked back to T-Mobile (has been confirmed in multiple posts on XDA). I'd just stay with xtresolite 2.2 but I have no wifi calling or volte. I'm trying to find a rom for this phone that supports a different carrier sim as well as volte/wifi calling when I switch back to my T-Mobile sim. Is this possible?
All the ROM's I find for the 920T are either locked down T-Mobile ROM's under that development section and the general development section is mostly compatible International variants - but lacking WiFi calling or VoLTE. I'm beginning to think these two things just can't work together on the same ROM.
Thanks so much in advanced for a reply!

Question on T-Mobile note 4 purchase

Haven't had a note in a while and thinking about picking up a note 4. I am with T-Mobile and would purchase the T-Mobile version, I read about different variants and just wanted to make sure they could all be rooted, custom recovery and flashed without issue. In some of the threads here when people have issues, others ask what variant, etc.
Thanks

Get the sm-n910t (t-mobile version). Very mod friendly.
Sent from my SM-N910T using XDA Free mobile app
The T-Mobile version comes with the bootloader unlocked out of the box. You can do whatever you want with/to it.
I just purchase a T-Mobile Note 4 on 11/17/15 from one of their store. The model that I got is the SM-N910T3 and not SM-N910T. It comes with Android 5.1.1 installed instead of 4.4.4. You will probably end up with this model. Does anyone know if this variant is still bootloader unlocked? I also read that the TW 5.1.1 rom has root blocking enabled by Samsung, can anyone recommend a custom kernel that can override this to prevent a bootloop?
T is better for ROM Support VS. T3. T3 may be smooother

You want the T version for more ROM compatibility. The T3 version can be rooted and has a few ROMS but supposedly Samsung changed something in the phone so it has alot less ROM support. It does have root and 1 or 2 good ROM's though.
Root for T3
More info on T3

Did you ever end up buying this phone? I have been thinking about picking up a used one on Swappa to use as my daily driver until Samsung releases the S8 or Note 8. I currently have a LG V10 and even though it has an unlocked bootloater and root, there is zero ROM development for it due to issues with LG firmware/drivers.

Firmware Differences?

Just got an Unlocked S10 for use on ATT network and am debating which firmware I should load. I imagine the answers are already here on this forum but frankly my head is spinning going through the various threads.
With Carrier (U, not U1) firmware, I've read that the carrier specific firmware and bloatware will load based on SIM. I'm coming from an S7 so this is new to me. So what's the difference if I load VZW firmware rather than trying to track down ATT firmware?
Thanks!

If it's a u model never been messed with and properly unlocked it should load carrier based bloat and services based off the sim inserted. If you see multi csc or oym yes you should he able to load Verizon Verizon firmware and then it should repersonalize based off sim inserted. S8 and up all the us based u models are identical hardware. Software is only difference. I don't know the exacts on doing us models. I smartened up and got F models or imported snapdragons due to unlocked bootloaders. But I did have a u model s8
