Root - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge

I'm not concerned about tripping knox, so is it possible to root my s6 edge sm-g925aucu3boj7

Yes its possible....but u r not supposed to activate the knox security which is in the smart manager app. Then you can root using kingroot etc..

My warranty is already voided due to other reasons, and most of the ways to root either can't be read by my phone or they simply cannot

AT&T galaxy s6 edge 5.1.1
Is it possible to root the s6 edge at&t running 5.1.1? I really want to know before I get the 6.0 update.

[Q] How to root verizon lg g2 as of 10/16/2014

Sorry guys but ive been searching already and cannot find anuo to date way yo do this. Towel root doesnt work for an updated VXW LG G2 and niether does stump. Can someone help me out? I really have tried finding this myself but seems like something must have recently changed. Thanks and sorry.
Kdz to 24a will surely work as it is still perfectly rootable.
Stump root using brute force method works on 26A, it is the only working root for 26A, besides KDZing back to 24A, rooting, and updating.
Yep, stump root works with brute force. Takes 5-10 minutes but you'll get there.
Freedom One-Click works as well for installing TWRP. I just did both procedures the other day on a refurb 26A unit I got as a warranty replacement.

I can't help I'm afraid, root hasn't been an issue for me in a very long time, I've been on AOSP ROM since 12B. There are plenty of users who can help here though.

Np thanks. I downloaded latest Stump but wondering how you do the 'brute force' method. Does it auto start a brute force method of sorts?
(that's directed at any one else too)
---------- Post added at 08:39 PM ---------- Previous post was at 08:36 PM ----------
I'm an idiot. You just run it and it auto detects that it has to brute force.
Thanks. I'll let it go and see what it does. :good:
Edit2: Worked great.

And kernels??
I wonder if I should wait to ROM, since we'll get Lollipop by end of next year (at least on Verizon it'll take that long).

26A isn't magic, to custom ROMs is just another radio for the most part... There isn't a huge compatibility difference and just about any aftermarket ROM/kernel built for 24A will work on 26A, and vise versa. In any ROM or kernel read the first few posts, they usually give the requirements for them, notice most say "official KitKat baseband" and not a specific version, although a few ROMs do specify a specific version, always read and ask for each specific instance if your not sure.
I can not get anything to root my phone on 26a. Tried stump and towel , now im debating on going back toot 24a but i don't wanna risk losing everything
Dude you're doing something wrong. Stump worked on the 4 G2 Verizon phones I've tried it on. 26A.
Did you enable usb debugging? Turn off app verify, etc. What happens after it reboots twice after brute force?
Give some more effin info than "it doesn't work".

Hrm, it has to be one of the silly phone settings.
You want: USB Debugging enabled, (next couple ar ein Security settings)Verify Apps disabled, Allow Unknown sources enabled.
Is your phone currently encrypted? Did you enable that feature already? Try removing the lock screen, if you currently have one set.
Uninstall Stumproot. ARE YOU SURE you're on the latest version that can brute force 26A? Enable the above and reinstall. He put out updates once it became available, since people said they were getting "unsupported device" errors.

Update incoming (236mb) - check now 05.13.15

I have the update available as well, it auto downloaded when I hit check for update so be aware.
Mine JUST started! Glad I caught it during download and shut the phone off. Just rooted yesterday and I'll be pissed if I lose it! lol. Hopped on so I could find what needed frozen in TiBu to stop it.

Opposite here. I took the update and want to root. According to the root thread, OE2 can be rooted so I should be good. We'll see.
So do I have to Odin back to stock? I really don't wanna do that!
Anyone know whats new?? :\

My S6 Edge is rooted and I can update if I want. If you want to update go to Software Update and do it.

Let us know if you have root once you updated or if you can still root your phone.

I'm not sure that this is very accurate. You may be able to download the update, but installing it is a whole different thing.

Are you saying that you're rooted and that you simply have the ability to update but haven't taken the OTA? Or you've verified that your phone is rooted, taken this OTA and your phone is working fine? I didn't think you could take the OTA rooted.

It appears so. When I attempt to run the exploit, I'm notified that my device isn't supported yet. I'm not too worried as the team seems to be chewing through devices and updates at a cyclic rate.
So... most important thing to know here that nobody has mentioned...
How do you prevent it from updating if you're not rooted? Or is the answer to this question still "root the device" -_-

This is just my opinion, and since everyone has one, take it for what you will, but I've frozen the AT&T Software Update because assuming Samsung patches the root in the next update and sends it to the carriers to distribute, do you really want to do everything you can to get the next update even if you lose root?
Personally, I've done everything I could to get root, even if this cost me Samsung Pay which hopefully it won't, because someone smart enough on here will figure out how to patch the update with a ROM that we can flash later.....
Obviously that won't work right this second since we can't flash anything but Smart Switch / Odin stock junk, but assuming Safestrap or similar gets released, you can keep your bootloader lock all you want ATT, we'll just flash what we want over it!

I just confirmed that OE2 can be flashed back to OCE via Odin.

Haha, looks like I was updating my post at the same time you were posting.
What I was actually looking for was a way to do it without rooting seeing as we still have no confirmation regarding Samsung Pay functionality and root breaking it. At some point in the near future in my career, things like Samsung Pay, Apple Pay, etc are going to become useful so I need to have mine handy.

Is there a root for the galaxy s6 active or does it still have a bound on it please let me know thank you
The whole bounty thing seems to be a bit up for debate now since any current root solutions are not complete. Not only that, there are no current root solutions for S6A Android 6.0.1.
