Hey there, I purchased this phone a few months ago and since galaxy gear was launched I was wondering if I could use it as where I live it's common to see phones being stolen when somebody sees you are using the phone while driving. However according to what I found the galaxy great won't be compatible with my phone. So is there another smart watch compatible with our phone? thanks in advance

as far as i know it could work with gear and even with sony smartwartches....
Actually my friend said the samsung gear would work on any samsung galaxy phones. But Samsung says its intended just for the Note 3.

I just got a gear but for some reason i cant get it to work with my phone i have a galaxy S3 T999 T-mobile i don't have samsung app store so i can get a gear manager from there. I have tried different versions on here but they all seem to close on me when its about to sync with the watch is there anyway for the gear to work with my phone? p.s i'm running cm 11

I have my gear 2 neo working with my phone for the most part. I was just wondering if there is anyway to install tizen apps so my watch can use them. I've come across quite a few good ones but since I don't have access to the samsung store, no joy.

I have a samsung galaxy s5 and my uncle gave me a gear vr, but I saw that it doesn't support the s5, and I was wondering if someone here knows how to fix it?
Is it possible to use all of the touch and buttons of the gear vr with the s5?

I'm pretty sure that you can tell the device it's an S6 or S7 and it'll work with the Gear VR, if it even fits into the headset.

I think there are apps that let you do this, though obviously requiring root access. You can also look for S6 roms for the S5 as ik those exist. With that, you'd be getting a different experience plus the ability to use gear vr.
I think one problem you might run into is the S5 screen resolution. All the devices that work on the Gear VR are 2560x1440, where as the S5 is 1920x1080.

it works and i doesent work
i have managed to get the software installed using a ported room from note5, the problem is that the pnoe is not recognised when when i pluged it in the gear vr nothing happens, i can use the apps if i enable developer mode. I wish someone will manage to make it work or tell us how to make it work so the phone gets recognised so we can use the buttons on gear vr properly and not having to take the phone out and touch the screen everytime.
