Here you can see some information about the new ROM Android 6.0 Marshmallow for P8 Lite http://androidgeek.pt/huawei-p8-lite-marshmallow
I think that the beta firmware will be released very soon :good:
I hope there's little left to wait :fingers-crossed:
This is good news. I hope this does not affect performance
What the hell? But here in Portugal we haven't even received 5.1.1.
That must mean the 5.1.1 is getting released soon soon soon.
I'm excited
Hmmm.. So in finland we "still" have 5.0.1
Let's see how long we have to wait for marshmallow
If u have branded phone u have to wait much much longer
Try to debrand (bootloader must be unlocked) and install 'clean' rom
In Poland we have 5.1.1 (no brand - unlocked bootloader) but still i have warranty (tested)
Today 5.1.1(B181) OTA update showed up for Vodafone branded P8 lites(Italy and Romania confirmed). My unbranded dual-sim phone didn't receive anything. It might be for single-sims only, for the time being.
I'm not that excited, though, phone works perfectly well with current fw(170). If it would enable the faux gyroscome, and even more importantly, the autofocus during video recording, that would be great.

Don't be too optimistic. This may take many months.
Maybe we will never see 5.1.1.

In italy beta testing program 5.1.1 latest is b009, no official release.
Android 6.0 Marshmallow has been confirmed for the Huawei P8 Lite. It is being beta-tested since December. We can also assume that the Huawei P8 Lite will get EMUI, which is awesome. Looking forward to it, I hope they don't **** it up! If we're lucky, it's going to be released to the public in February, atleast some sources mentioned February.
Yes i have Android 6.0 version ALE-L21C432B525 on my p8 lite. Got it today with the update.

I've installed this UPDATE over the ALE-L21C432B525 build with the "dload" method.
Everything worked out well, the system was installed in about 10 minutes.
The update has deleted every app and settings that were set on the previous build, so make sure, you'll do a backup before.
After installing, I've successfully rooted the phone, with THIS method.

Some people used the other version to flash over b181 from vodafone and it succeeded ( local update ) . The only problem was the balong bug so all you need to do is to try and see how it's going on.
One thing i have 550 double sim, can i install this?, and how? Tanks, sorry bad english
no tan lejos
Yes but not directly,
Because you have double sim variant firmware install.
You have to downgrade to a single sim firmware before then update B171, or others, and B551
Strange, i was on B171 Single SIM (Hungary - Eastern Europe Version) and got the B199 Update OTA 3 days ago. Now i cannot update to Marshmallow with the official Updater, because it does not Support B199 xD Install failed @ 0%.

Does not work! I was on B525 (updatet from B171 3 months ago), but reverted back to B171 to get B199. Now even B525 cannot install. Error at 4%
installed B551 (the original B171), everything went without a hitch and works very well

It's strongly recommend before all system firmware update.
1. Make full unroot
2. All system files like build.prop must be untouched(original)!

Hey there.
I have a Question.
I came from Germany and buy my P8 Lite on Amazon.
The Phone itself is absolut Powerfull and i like it.
But it is a Model for the Middle East & Africa.
Build Number isALE -L21C185B180 and has German Language in it´s Setup.
Updating to Marshmallow is not possible via OTA while it is not for the European Market.
Now i found the Middle East Update to ALE-21C185B525.
Is there anybody who can tell me that German Language is avaible in this Update?
Can someone tell me how to Upgrade this and warn me from Problems with the Manual Update?
Thanks a lot.

As far as I know, all versions have most languages, especially, let's say, strong languages like German.
But on XDA you can find many threads about how to change locale of device and update to any version you like, stock or custom, with or without root and with or without custom recovery. This is fine device and we have a few options.

Iam still not happy to buy a Phone in Germany and get one from Africa.
Yes, you just need to unlock bootloader first then flash the oeminfo EU zip then flash EU lolipop rom then you can upgrade to marshmallow too if you want
If you need help just tell me
Why is Huawei so slow in making the official 7.0 update available for every P9 user? A few people have already received it so how come the majority still don't have said update?

Because its not just up to Huawei to send out these updates. If you have a branded phone, the update will actually come from the carrier, this is why the global models (C432 and C636) were the very first to get EMUI 5.0, because these are international models and the updates usually comes directly from Huawei. If you have a Vodaphone branded phone, then you are really waiting on Huawei sending the firmware to Vodaphone and then Vodaphone will need to do their testing to make sure it works (this sometime takes months, even up to a year) with their frequencies and services. So if you are on anything but C432 and C636, its not Huawei's fault you havent got EMUI 5.0, its your carriers fault.

There is a way to check but I cant remember how but I dont think it is an international model. Even if it has no branding, does not mean its an international version as well. It may be up to your local carrier to push through the update.

I am not 100% sure that the L19 Nougat firmware has started rolling out or not but I do know the L09 (both C432 and C636) has been officially rolled out. If you do some research into it and the L19C636 is getting the official Nougat update, I think there is a way to request for a firmware update via HiSuite.
Did not see the above answer, wrote the same, sorry. P.s. Both me and my friend got update via HiCare, not through settings.

Hi,
When is v7 android going to be released for unbranded Huwaei P9 in the UK.
We are so far behind... Others have had updates ages ago.
Thank
They sent the following reply:
Dear Customer,
Thank you for contacting Huawei UK Customer Care.
In response to your query, all the Huawei P9 European devices are planned to receive the Android Nougat update. However, at the moment we do not have any official release date. As soon as your device will be ready to update you will receive a notification and you will be able to commence with the installation process.
I trust that the above information will be helpful. Of course, if you have any other queries, don't hesitate to contact us and we'll be happy to assist.

Actually you are not alone, here also in the Philippines although Huawei stated that the Nougat update for L19C636 is already out but not everyone is getting it. I myself (using L19C6363) still not getting the update from the Updater nor in HiCare app. Huawei stated that the update is being pushed batch by batch. Since I got tired of waiting I was able to update by using Huawei updater and HiSuite. But still I recommend to wait for the announcement of Huawei to release the update in your region, there are some who use the Huawei updater got their device brick.

I live in Africa, every time I look for the update in HiCare or in the settings, there is nothing. In HiCare I switched from continent to europe then i took France as a country, i erased the cache in the application and i restarted the update request right after i In the B378.
If it can help.

I emailed Huawei again... this time they asked for my IMEI number to check and then came back with this:
Thank you for Contacting Huawei Customer Services.
Your device has O2 custom firmware on it. This means that until O2 releases their customised version of EMUI 5.x, no update will be released to your device.
As it is a third party developing the customisations, it is not something we have a timeline for.
I am sorry we cannot be of more help in this issue. I do hope you have a great weekend though!
Best Regards, Hank

Looks like we are at the mercy of O2!
Hello guys Do you know if p10 receive an update to android 8.1 ?
8.0 isn't even out, yet...so, how would someone know, if Huawei will please their customers by releasing 8.1 - they didn't even made a 7.1 rom for P10.
Probably not. Official 8.0 went live today and that will be all - that's what I think.
But there's always a good chance a talented developer on xda will release a cfw for our phone.
I got my Galaxy tab 2 on 7.1.2 thanks to slim-roms.

Today I found in firmware finder this, a rollback to emui 5.1 .. This is obviously because of 8.0

Course it won't. If huawei obeys google's 2-year update policy, we should also get P as our last update but i'm crossing my fingers for android Q. ??? since huawei was kind enough to update P9 to O, making it 3 major updates. My friend previously owns a P9. Now she owns a Mate 10.
