im looking for some items - Xperia Play Accessories

hi
my name is itay (israel) and i just bought another new xperia play and ill like to add some items to it
i hope i can get from u guys some recommendations
here are the items:
1. in ear headphones (ive noticed most of the headphones do not work on xperia play)
2. 1800 mah regular battery (one that i wouldnt need a special cove/case for it)
3. charger, preferably one that has a slot for another battery on the cable
also, is there any newer phone of that kind? (one with a slide-out pad but with better performances)

i use the xplay headphones, the ones inlcuded in the box, in-ear with mic and they work really good..i've been using different headphones without problems, i've been having the opposite problem instead:the xplay headphones didn't work properly on some other devices..does the xperia play work when plugged to some speakers?
i got a 2430mah on the bay (just search for 2430mah gold xperia play, you should find it easily, less than 10 euros shipped to europe if i remember correctly) it's a regular size so you can just swap it without changing the back cover with a bigger one. i can say it'been working fine for about a year now, and it gives you a 20% more autonomy depending on the use. it's china battery so don't expect to change you device drastically..just a nice little bump to get through the day..to get to the night
for the charger you can use any charger with micro usb..you can get a dock on the bay for 10 bucks as well, just search for r800i dock.. i don't know if there's any dock for charging the battery alone out of the phone..maybe it's something for the whole xperia 2011 line (the x10 has the same xplay battery, for instance) you might just search up and report us what you find
last, sadly there's no newer phone that matches ( that's my personal opinion) the xpaly overall portability and versatility...you can search as many time has been asked here, you can have a look at the snail w3d thread in this forum...you can have a much i5", look up for the jxd devices ( wich i find really nice), a gpd xd, a shield..but i'm not seeing myself carrying around any of this devices in my pocket..

while I'd love an Xperia Play to add to my emulator collection, I'm currently using a JXD S7800B and a GPD XD (16GB model. thought it would allow apps2sd like the 7800, nope :<)
anyway, also have a PSP Go that was my portable emu machine til I got the JXD

thx a lot for both of u for the answers, i used em both

[Q] Stock headset

Okay, so i was out the other day and relised i had lost my original headphones while i was out. I use headphones daily and couldn't live without them.
Question is does anyone stock the original Samsung Headset with the PTT(push to talk) button on it? or maybe another manufacturer that works with the Ace.
Preferably I'm looking for standard rather than the in-ear pair.
Thanks in advance!
I've tested it with an original headset from LG (LG optimus one). And worked!
Maybe you should try buy a new one and test it before you actually buy it.
the pinout of samsung's stock headset is universal, you may use it on iPod, HP 4-pole audio+mic jack and in others, but not on nokia. nokia headsets follow a different pinout pattern, swapping ground to mic+shield. well, I did successfully converted a nokia headset to a universal one.
wait, I was lost there, but still, samsung's 3.5mm jack is universal. only nokia is an exception. hehehe. you may use any headset except for old iPod headsets and nokia headsets. iPod 4, iPhone 4 and newest ipods have the universal jack pinout configuration that shares with almost all of handsets.
Thanks for the replies guys. Done a bit of digging around and found a user on eBay selling original headsets for £3

I tried my old Sony Ericsson headset and the sound was so distorted. It was like the speakers were rattleing although the sound was so quiet...
anyways, as mentioned before, i've found a set on ebay and a reasonably good price of £2.20
Not sure if i'm allowed to link to ebay pages but here goes...
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/280795430244?_trksid=p5197.c0.m619
If I had a pound for every time i saw something sold as genuine on Ebay
We'll see what happens when they come, if they function properly ect... then at the end of the day i'm not fussed
Just got the set through this morning... Seems like stock, build quality is as good as my original, sounds is ok. and the button functions. So £2.20 well spent...
Thanks for your help guys

Android Phone - Is it viable as a dedicated PMP? YES!

Well was going to share my stuff but unfortunately......
"To prevent spam on the XDA forums, ALL new users prevented from posting outside links in their messages. After approximately 10 posts, you will be able to post outside links. Thank you for understanding!"
Either way I wrote a little mini review come rambling about the O2X and its suitablitly as my now new dedicated PMP. This leaves me with a 32GB iPod Touch 4th Gen I need to sell haha
Head here to read what I thought, it's better than me spamming ten posts. I will post it here properly if I end up replying to you guys enough that I meet the quota to be able to post outside links. (remove the spaces aroud the dot in dot com

nice read.
i agree that o2x is quite the killer pmp. only small downside is the damned stereo cross talk, but quite frankly i dont feel any absence of it, and gsmarena only rated the audio as "average" pff.
about voodoo though, its still not done, still.... so we have no features basically, just the amp, but it gets the job done.
PS i aproove your nickname

Thank you.
In all honesty I don't mind a little stereo crosstalk because in all seriousness you never in any other situation but headphones have two such isolated stereo channels. Also with gsmarena you need to keep in mind they've reviewed only the stock kernel I am going to see about getting some graphs and measurements of the O2X with voodoo.
It may not be done but its all I need/want I don't need to set bass boosts etc as its sound signiture is already close to that of my D1 I don't see myself ever wanting to use eq as it is I still haven't installed dsp pack for player pro.
The only things to be added here in the future is video playback with the HDMI out, scientific tests if I find a nice bit of free ware I can use to test range, accuracy etc, and possibly HDMI to coax splitter to steal the digital audio out for use with high end DACs. Right now in my eyes the O2X is the perfect platform for a high quality and very customized pmp.
An interesting read, We've got an old HTC hero and Tattoo and damaged advent vega kicking about that need a use, I'm also planning to get a nexus 4 so my o2x will need a use in 2 weeks. I've not used it much but the HDMI drinks battery so saying you might as well plug in the usb is a good idea. I might plug mine in to a TV in the bedroom and use it as a dlna and VOD player in there, it's a lot cheaper than buying a new dedicated device to do what could already do, may even see about a bluetooth media keyboard for it to control. I do still have my ipod classic that is easier to use but thats lasted 3 whole years so it's due a failure, at least with my o2x i could wipe it stick 32gb of memory in and load it with most of my music, could even make an adhoc network with my n4 when i get it to share the files on the memory card with it.

Definitely dedicate the O2X to media duties come upgrade then. I bought my O2X purely for media it is technically still functioning as a phone at the moment. But that is till I make my mind up on what phone I am going to next (my Xperia X10i got far to long in the tooth and a year at 20% OC has finally killed it haha). My rec is to use the Chuck Norris CM7 ROM because of the aroma installer which makes it really easy to remove everything that is not needed and if you remove the google apps suite too you can later add back google play from taesmaks CM7 rom.
Today I also discovered that the mic port on my laptop is **** ahaha went to run the rmaa tests but the amount of noise and distortion introduced by my mic port has rendered the tests useless. I will test again with my auzentech x-fi fote later on.

It's OT but whatever---
OC killing your X10i.
That is fairly interesting. I used Motorola Milestone as my personal phone since it came out till past november - roughly two and half yrs - and I had it OC'ed by some 45-50% most of the time [email protected],1GHz. But that was very okay. Yet as the end of lovely Milestone (heck I want qwerty CURRENT hi-end!) phone turned out damaged. It was the heat coming from CPU that damaged digitizer and screen.
I replaced digitizer but screen was too pricey for way old phone, so I did buy O2X... oh, well.
That said, Milestone still serves well as PMP for it has great music output and DLNA/remotecontroll (by app) capabilites. To be honest... actually... it serves the purpose here, as rather overkill alarm clock of sorts...
Thanks stonerboy, I'll give that ROM a look when the time comes. Could make an interesting at thing when it doesn't matter if it has some down time while i inevitably brick it. A simple ROM with good battery life that can take a 32 or 64gb sd card is all I'll want instead of forking out £200 on an iPod. Between my squeezeboxes at home and mw600 j don't think I'll be needing iPod docks anymore

Aren't you annoyed by the noise the phone generates? You can clearly notice it when a small notification sound is played: it's mute, than the sound is played, you hear a static noise, than it goes mute again (turns off amplificaiton, I guess).
This is not present on the iPod (which I also own a 32gb 4th gen). Also, the overall quality is way better, there's no "extra bass or loudness" that I can notice with the 2X. Not to mention the battery drain... in airplane mode, no wifi, bluetooth, whatsoever, it spends battery like crazy, by just playing music. The iPod in the other hand...

Not sure what is up with your phone but I have not experienced any noises, have even played a flat track with no sound at all that I made. When played and ampped to the max i have to strain to hear any static or hum. Battery wise its doing damn well and has plenty of battery life for me definitely at a level comparable or even better than my iPod. Guess i could do a side by side and just play music at the same listening level once on loudspeaker and once on headphones just to see which goes longer in each situation.
I haven't noticed anything specifically about sound and notifications but with voodoo sound you can turn of the sound focus setting which alter playback when notifications come through. My notifications are also set to play through the loudspeaker and never the headphones but i'll change it to headphones and see if i can recreate your issue but as for you battery drain issue i have no idea why its so bad for you.
Hell i was streaming spotify for a few hours yesterday and used very little battery and that was even with extreme quality streaming on, bluetooth left on from when i had the radio on and i even have an oc and uv going. Further more I have limits set and when my screen is of my cpu speed can only go so high and will only be using one core so that may be another reason why my battery is good.
Just throwing things out there at the moment.

Glad I could inspire some people to do the same
I am unsure about 64GB sdcard compatibility though, has anyone ever tried any 64GB micro sd cards with the O2X? I do remember looking when I was still deciding which phone I wanted to turn into a pmp.
Well this is insane.... as usual got the music going at work but this time I have headphones going with the FM radio in the O2X not using the loudspeaker. And after a nice hour and a half of use my battery has depleted only 1% yes 1% I didn't miss a zero or anything its quite literally insane. The class W headphone amp in the Wilson dac is beyond insanely efficient coupled with the fact my phone is probably ideling at 215mhz undervolted 50mv....
Wasted another 1-2% battery in the 5 mins I have been using cell data to write this up.
Either way I think tonight I will charge to 100% andthen leave the radio on all night so I can get a proper estimate of how efficient it is. The night after I will play a flac album on repeat with the music app. Will play another album on repeat in my iPod too as comparison. Day after that will compare spotify streaming for the night over wifi and extreme quality.
You can find tread about 64gb sdcard in general tread
Well just before Christmas my iPod died and i git a nexus 4, well timed upgrade and the perfect chance to do this so I've finally erased my o2x and reverted it to the stable cm 7.2. So far so good. I couldn't get the recommended chuck Norris rom to work so have just gone with normal cm and either uninstalled or disabled everything I don't want, the phone is so much nicer with nothing on it, it's the first time in 13 months the thing actually works.
Any suggestions for windows software to manage the music? I've always just used iTunes as I had an iPod, I looked the simplicity of it but now I can't copy everything only most of my music so need something to keep track of it

Audio for the car

Hey guys!
So before owning an xperia z, i had the galaxy note (great phone) and i'd run my music through an AUX cable so it would come out through the car speakers (i ain't got blue-tooth in the care).
Now since I've got the xperia z, its becoming a hassle to open and close the flaps every time. So i wanna know if there is a device out there that's can act as a bridge? Xperia > device (via blue-tooth) >AUX cable > Car.
preferably the device should be small, no bigger then a pc mouse.
So yeah, if any has any info or something that's similar or better please share:fingers-crossed:
like you, i'm waiting for this
http://www.sonymobile.com/it/products/accessories/stereo-bluetooth-headset-sbh20/
There are other ones already sold in Sony Mobile but they are more expensive
Personally have been using this one.
http://www.sonymobile.com/global-en/products/accessories/mw600/
Works great. Essentially the same thing as previously mentioned. Just go for whichever is cheaper.

That's exactly what i'm talking about! Be perfect for my car!!
I actually had a different model of the MW600... but i've lost it... would of been perfect! Damn!
I'm using this in my car: http://www.avantalk.com/products02.php?id=62
It's working great to stream music from the XZ. Works also with Youtube, Digitally Imported, ...
u can use another smartphone with google music and connect it to your car
Something like this?
http://www.monoprice.com/products/p...=10827&cs_id=1082704&p_id=7364&seq=1&format=2
Or upgrade your headunit to one with integrated Bluetooth.
Some of the adapters (like the one above) do have some issues with automatic connection/reconnection when the car powers on... But that's the general type of device you're looking for, search around and check reviews.

I have the MW600 (came with my wife´s SonyEricsson phone some years ago), and works perfectly apart from it does not work with the micro USB charger cable attached.
You need to charge it, then disconnect it from the charger to use it. Would be perfect if would work with the charger cable in and would power on with the charger plugged in (read, ignition on).

Dock M35H for Sony Xperia SP

Unfortunately no original Sony dock available then I search alternative...
Google "dock Xperia SP" and I found a product named M35H sold around 10€ by various web dealers.
Despite the absence of choice, I recommend this product.
- Stable, Non-slip feet
- Rear micro USB socket
- Charge and data sync
Only quality ABS used does not reach OEM, but it works fine anyway!
I made a little video for you...
About dealer, this thread is a review product and I would not advertising.
Make your own choice!
Steph, by the looks of it, it appears that you won't be able to use the headphone jack when its in the dock. Is this correct? If so, I'm very disappointed, as I mainly bought it for that reason. Wanted somewhere I could mount the phone and still listen to music with headphones. May need to pick up a bluetooth set
I may just need to look into making my own.

Close call Thanks for clarifying that.

is the touch good?
and now down to the more deep questions.
which variant should i buy? i wanna use all features. i wanna root. i wanna unlock the bootloader. i wanna do much more. so which variant is the best?
and does it have any problems like the g4 boot loop problem?

I recently purchased mine and I was really happy, particularly with the price I paid.
PROs
Decent CPU
Very good looking phone
NFC & microSD card slot ( couldn't find this on other phones in my price range)
Very well priced if you look around and are lucky
Rear camera is super quick, decent quality
Can be easily rooted, unlocked etc
Front camera is good but I haven't tested extensively (recipients have not complained)
CONS
Could do with more RAM - occasionally notice stutters when multi tasking that my mate's G5 doesn't do
Awkward NFC location, can be configured to work a little better with certain apps
Lacks IR but that's personal
Gets pretty hot during long games or sometimes long youtube sessions (I think it's a design flaw that the CPU copper plate dissipates heat into the LCD no adverse affects yet so it's a guess)
Battery life could be better but does enough to get your through the day if you try
Audio output from the 3.5mm jack is poor, haven't tested bluetooth
So I would say, if you can get it at a good price, go for it particularly if none of those cons matters. The biggest one for me the audio output but my first preference phone wasn't available so I had to take this one.
i got the x performance dual, i love this phone besides this one i would get the xz premium, this is the forst phone i didnt root and do all customr, camera sound battery screen its a great phone very happy with it.

If the XZ is priced similarly I'd get it. Also following up on my earlier post I did test Bluetooth in the car today and it actually works well really well. I'm very happy with it and it is much clearer than my previous phone which had a louder 3.5mm jack output. My car Bluetooth also doesn't support aptx or anything special. Also if you could get the dual SIM variant I'd go with that as 64GB would be awesome but I have my card filled with media anyway
