I made a minor adjustment to my build.prop file, and when I reboot my phone, it is stuck in a boot loop. I tried to re-flash the rom that I use, but its still in the boot loop. Is there a simple way to manually edit the build.prop file using adb? I have the backup I took of my phone on my computer, but it doesn't look like any of the files contained are accessible to pull the default build.prop file out to sideload. I tried restoring my backup, but I'm getting an error saying it cant restore. Any ideas? FYI I am rooted and unlocked.
**Update** SOLVED. Installed a new rom using TWRP instead of MOFO.

Hi,
I'm using Jellaxy ROM and I think there's something wrong that makes my phone stuck on bootscreen.
I noticed my ROM is having an issue with some services called 'netd', which using too many CPU usage, so I have to kill the process using Terminal Emulator everytime my phone feels laggy. It works but I have to do that multiple times on single day.
So I think if I just move the 'netd' files from /system/bin to another folder (in this case, /system), my phone won't be able to run it. And yes it works, but here's comes the next problem, when I try to reboot it, my phone stuck on CW bootscreen. I have solved it for the first time, I boot into CWM recovery, and run ADB through my computer to move the file back to its original folder. My phone had successfully reboot, problem solved and I move the file back again.
And today, I decided to reboot my phone after copy the file back to /system/bin folder, but it stuck on bootscreen again. I've tried to re-copy again, but now it seems my phone won't let me access its /system folder via ADB. I've tried to using Aroma File Manager but the result is the same.
Please help, and sorry for the long post.
EDIT : I've solved it by choosing "Fix Permissions" in CWM.
My LG Thrill was rooted I had cwm 6.0.1.5 installed , I backed up my phone with cwm to get a current copy of my data. I then tried to restore and older back up that failed.
I tied to restore my phone with lg mobile tools.
It starts but fails because my phone keep getting redetected in device manager on my windows 7 pc causing the lg tool to lose its connection around 10%.
I tried to use cwm to restore the same zipped image of my phone containing the .bin and .fls that I used for lgs mobile tools
That failed.
I requested support from app developers that bricked my phone, they said I should be able to fix my phone if i rename a file “egl.cfg.mybackup” to “egl.cfg” Contained in /system/lib/egl'
So I restored my boot looping backup, but adb could not detect the device, I edited the adb_usb.ini to contain my phones usb device id. That did not help. So now I can’t edit the file name on the device.
I tried to edit the egl.cfg file in my back up in the system.ext4.tar restore file.
But when I went to restore it I got the md5 error….
So then I cleared all data in the nandroid.md5, that got around the md5 error.
Now cwm will reset at the same system\network\ file during the backup restore.
At that point cwm starts to restart a lot during another tasks..
This is such a pain….
Does anyone have some advice or know of any tools that could help thanks.
What is the zip format/content of the zip flashing option?
where can that be gotten?
flashed,
changed the bootloader and smartflash completed,
I've attempted to do a search but yielded no results...
I attempted to modify build.prop but of course, being the noob that I am, forgot to change permissions and got my Xperia Z into a boot loop...
Now the catch is this - I've tried pushing a stock build.prop through adb and also using the file manager in TWRP to move the correct (stock) build.prop in /system. However, the bootloop still continues, and booting into recovery shows that the build.prop file has disappeared from the directory every time I reboot. I've tried the process a few times and it doesn't work. I did change permissions to 0644 after copying build.prop to /system, and I've also tried doing a factory reset, restoring the nandroid (without the build.prop, somehow it's not in the backup) and then pushing build.prop through both adb and the inbuilt file manager. It shows up, but my phone continues to be in a bootloop while booting into recovery shows that the whole build.prop file is gone.
I'm on stock firmware .233, rooted.
Anyone could provide any help or solutions to this problem? My goal is to restore without losing any data... Thanks in advance for any help!
Flash a stock FTF with Flashtool with no wipes. You'll have to root again, but your phone should then at least boot.
Sent from my C6603
Currently irate because I already typed all this then hit enter to be told I can only register once from this ip.
Any way...
Rooted vs98027a Android 4.4.2 via Stump Root
Used AutoRec which installed TWRP 2.7.00
Backed up Stock Rom
Mount button is missing
Rebooted into Stock to transfer backup to PC and place "cm-12-20150603-NIGHTLY-vs980.zip" as well as Lp gapps.
Rebooted back into TWRP
Wiped, then Installed the CM Nightly, wiped cache and rebooted.
Stuck in LG Boot loop.
Use buttons to boot back into TWRP, open Restore and It's just a blank navigation window.
TWRP just became ****ing worthless
Tried to wipe and possibly install same CM again. Still boot looping.
Tried getting to download mode, but it reboots before installing driver.
I have not a clue as to what to do next.
I can't get it to mount.
ADB Sideload Fails.
Terminal Command lets me select a blank navigation window.
And my original file structure is in like sdcard/0/0/0/0/0/0/0/0/ etc.
Please help, or at least redeem CM and TWRP's value somehow, because this is bs.
I sort of fixed it.
Restore showed up blank, because within the many /0/0/0/0/0/0/0/0 a new TWRP folder would be made or course containing nothing.
I also learned the adb is this magnificent goddess that can do things even when your phone can't.
Throughout further reading I glimpsed upon something about "loki" files that aren't compatible with specific versions of twrp or something. So If you've also been through this and still feel brave enough to flash a custom, then make sure you get the newest version of twrp...
As for the Restore issue, assuming you have a backup saved on pc, wipe everything then adb push the whole file (TWRP/BACKUPS/BLAHBLAH/BLAUGHESDIHF) to /sdcard/.... then it should show up in restore, if it doesn't then use file manager to place it in the right TWRP directory... You can also use the file manager to move the restore folder to the "correct" twrp folder if you don't have it backed up.
