Iam trying to run Ubuntu via Linuxdeploy
Ubuntu starts but the Desktop does not render.
The Display goes either black or freezes.
I tried to stop/start surfaceflinger/media/zygote/bootanim in ramdom orders.
No Luck
Sometimes when the zygote service gets restarted, i can see the xserver for a single frame.
I suspect that the Xserver is running and updating the framebuffer but, the display gets not updated by the driver.

I'm trying to take some screenshots of my N1 using the mmds.bat application in AndroidSDK but it doesn't open. I get a brief flicker of the command window but that's it.
I've got AndroidSDK and Java JDK installed and 'adb devices' sees my phone no problem. Usb debugging is on on the phone etc. Tried running mmds.bat as administrator but still nothing.
Anyone any ideas? I'm on Win7 64bit.
It's ddms, not mmds.
Yeah, just a typo. I have no mmds.bat on my pc!
Anyway, I've worked it out. Trying to open ddms.bat via command line told me it couldn't find java at C:\Program Files\Java. I'd installed the 32bit JDK as I never use 64bit IE and so it inserts it in C:\Program Files (x86). Installing the Java 64bit JDK has sorted it so problem solved.
Nexus camera flicker
Have this annoying problem with N1 - what an awesome phone, but camera flickers like crazy; here's a short video:
http://www.4shared.com/video/XOjBR7J2/Nexus_flicker_problem.html
No problems with actual photos or videos, just annoying flicker when in camera or video mode (toggle seems to work for a few seconds only).
is this hardware or just software? I'm willing to root it and try different drivers, but it may not be a good idea since it's going back for repairs.
Dude that aint normal, I suggest you try and contact Google and get that fixed before rooting.

Or download ShootMe from the market for free...?
Hey all,
earlier today Hearthstone was released on Android and iOS.
Downloading the huge app and everything went fine until the loading screen popped up - it takes ages and then somewhere before the end hotboots the OS (reboot without kernel boot).
Anybody tried it out and got it to run or has the same problem?
A list of "verified devices" can be found here - https://us.battle.net/support/en/article/hearthstone-system-requirements - and minimum requirements are Android 4.0 and 1GB of RAM which should be no problem for the P7...
Devices with PowerVR 540/544 GPUs are reported to maybe experience graphical issues but I can't even get past the loading screen
[Q] Animation cycling not working & "E/BootAnimation﹕ couldn't find audio_conf.txt"
I have a Verizon HTC One M7 running a GPE+ 5.0.1 ROM. I've been trying forever to get bootanimations to work properly on my phone. I have followed ever step in every guide and troubleshooting thread I could find, and yet still it won't work. The animations I am trying to get to work have hundreds of frames, and they all seem to play just fine up until ~50 frames in, at which point the screen just goes white, until the period of the animation ends. Also, oddly, the first playthrough is really slow and laggy up until those 50 frames, and then when it loops over to the beginning, it runs super smooth before going to white.
I tried to test the boot animation with
Code:
adb shell bootanimation
, but the screen just quickly flashes and it doesn't play. Logcat ends up saying that
Code:
E/BootAnimation﹕ couldn't find audio_conf.txt
. Why in the world would this be affecting the animation? And where is that file supposed to be, am I supposed to have that file anyway? I can't even attempt to fix it because I don't know what the contents of the file are supposed to be and I cannot find a single support thread on the Internet where this problem was similarly addressed.
Any idea what is going on or how to fix it? I've tried everything. I made sure my desc.txt has a line break and tried it saved as both Windows and UNIX format. I tried storing all the images in one "part0" folder and alternatively in separate folders, but the result is always the same. I store it in an uncompressed zip and use one of the apps from the play store to apply and randomly cycle through my animations.
That also seems to be a problem: The boot animation shuffler does not seem to work, no matter which shuffling app I use. The shuffler "turns on", but on reboot the animation is never changed. Why is this happening too? Is it related?
I've been stuck on this for so many hours now. Any help will be appreciated.
Nobody has any ideas? Anything I haven't tried yet? Days later, and I am still struggling with this problem...
Last call for help. I still haven't found a solution.... >_>
I just downloaded the Android Studio. I am running windows 7 64 bit with 4 GBs of Ram. When I open the application it takes a few minutes to load the studio. It then loads to an error that says there was a rendering problem which I fix by changing the API from the drop down. I put 3 labels on the app and just wanted to see what that looked like so I tried running it. I ran it through the Emulator and after basically freezing my computer up and taking up to 5 minutes to build it works but then I see a blank screen. I don't even see my labels. So I tried running it from my phone and after a few hours I finally got it to where it would even recognize my phone as authorized. However, every time I try to run it it says the app has crashed before it even loads. I am using a Samsung Galaxy s3 so I tried it with API 17. So here are my questions.
#1:
Why is this program soooooooo slow? I have changed the gradle to be offline. I have also added this line to the properties org.gradle.daemon=true and still it takes forever and almost freezes up my computer.
#2:
Why aren't my labels showing when I run it through the emulator? I mean that's about as simple as you can get and it isn't even working.
#3:
Why does my phone crash before even loading the app? I have 32 GB of memory on my phone via an SD card if that even matters.
#4:
Can this program really be as bad as it seems? I've been "working with it" about 3 days now and I can't get it to function properly in any way.
4GB is barely enough for comfortable work. Especially on 64-bit OS and especially with emulator (and maybe browser tabs and some other stuff) running.
Although I used to launch it with 2GB somehow
And if your app doesn't work properly and even crashes, it's most likely bugged. Read the log.
Hello,
I have Redmi Note 10S with official MIUI system and all current updates. Actually since the beginning I had issues with Chrome browser which was crashing and rebooting the whole phone. I thought it was an issue with the browser itself so I tried different one. Unfortunately on Firefox it was crashing and tebooting the phone too. The only browser, which works fine is the one provided with MIUI. I tried with cache cleanup and browser data removal. But because it happens on two indepented browsers it must be something on Android (Android System WebView?) used by both browser. Can you help me?
is it for some special page?
im using chrome beta from the beginning without problems.
can you do adb logcat? it would be great to see what error do you have
No it seems to be random. It can work for days and then suddenly crash. I will try with logcat but the randomness can be a problem.
but rebooting whole phone is not possible by application crash. it is usually HW problem.
me as a developer to reboot device, i need to have root.
there is no function to reboot phone.
so maybe try some benchmark app to see if there is no hw problem
I have checked with Geekbech 5 and it works both for CPU benchmark and Compute Benchamark (OpenCL). And just to clarify because I'm not sure if reboot is a proper word. When loading some website in the browser the screen goes black and the phone is turning on like it was switched off. I would compare it to BSOD on Windows.
is there whole boot? or just immediately pin screen?
still had no issue like this
The screen goes suddenly black and then the MIUI is starting to load. It is exactly the same process as you would press longer power button and selected Reboot option. But it just happens randomly without user interaction when using Chrome or Firefox.
I tried with logcat but so far without success. The browser didn't want to crash this time.
