easiest way to go back to stock rom with TWRP? - T-Mobile Galaxy Note 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

What would be the easiest way to go to back to stock on a N910T3? Is there a TWRP flashable zip to go back to stock?

What are you trying to accomplish? You want stock rooted, a stock Rom, or back to completely stock?

Stock rooted would be great if it's not too many steps. Otherwise stock rom would be nice as well if it's just one TWRP flash zip file. Is there such a thing or do I need to use Odin?

Honestly Odin is best because it'll get you back 100% to stock and then just root with Odin too.

How would I go back completely stock? In other words, what downloads would I need to have and that sort of thing. I have the SM-N910T3.

Just the original tar file and Odin. If you want root then cfautoroot ass well.

Unroot my GT-I9000

Can you help me find a way to unroot my device ?
Thanks
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA Premium App
i believe it depends on the method you used to root it in the first place. If you use SOC (super one click) then the same app can be used to un-root. If you flashed a rooted kernel, then I think all that is needed is you to flash back a stock kernel.

easiest way is to flash a stock firmware, appropriate to your region, then root will dissappear and you are ready to take it in to samsung without worry

Download a stock version here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1102881
But be carefull if you rooted you device and activated EXT4 on it, restoring a Stock ROM will fail. First make sure you don't use EXTx and convert back to RFS.

I've never experience such a 'fail'. Be it EXT4 or RFS, you can easily odin back to a stock firmware. No problems at all. Odin will format and create the default RFS partitions back.
can someone help me unroot my galaxy s i500 from verizon? i tried to root it with odin and i guess i downloaded the files for the gt-i9000 and i ran everything and it passedm, when my phone rebooted it went straight to recovery mode and now i cant click on any of the options i can only scroll down with the volume down button, ive tried pressing all the buttons to see which one is "enter" and nothing works. heeeeellllpppppp!!!!!
The home button (if you have one) is the enter button.

Do we have Custom recovery yet?

just installed root and was going to mess with the Build.prop to get wallet working. But before i do so i want to have a way of getting back besides for odin flashing back to stock.
No we do not, the bootloader is locked still and who knows when it's going to get hacked or if it will ever get hacked lol

If you look at the Root de la vega, it comes with a oneclickbin.exe.
This is a oneclick odin to flash back to stock. If you don't want the root, don't do the remaining steps.
Thank you very much

How to uninstall safestrap

How do I uninstall safestrap and go back to stock if I did not backup?
Sent from my SM-N900A using Tapatalk
To uninstall Safestrap, go into the Safestrap app, click uninstall recovery, then you can uninstall the Safestrap app.

Right...removing SS with not remove root from your rom. .SS is the recovery. Are you trying to unroot your phone?
No I would like to back to stock rom altogether I don't like how I lost 30gb of space buy using safestrap
Sent from my SM-N900A using Tapatalk
Safestrap does not do that... The only way to do that is to create all the ROM slots.
If you are flashing ROMs the right way, (in the stock slot) you are taking up less space than the stock ROM.
Go the the general section if you want to return to stock. Find the NC2 restore thread.
I used stock rom slot and it is showing 32 total space when I have 64gb
Sent from my SM-N900A using Tapatalk
Because most people have the 32gb model. It is what the ROMs are built from. It will say you lost 30, but I promise you didn't.
Oh so it's a false positive then

Did you open the safe strap app and click remove recovery? If not reinstall the app, click remove recovery, then uninstall the app.
i thought i did that when i re flashed the stock Rom.... would i need to re-root?

Install ota?

Is there any way to download an ota and put it in the correct place using root explorer or equivalent and install it through the stock recovery? Also where can a person get the stock recovery for 5.1 47E? I've googled it but can't find stock recoveries. Thanks

I am not sure about the ota being on your phone, I recommend just side loading it which IMHO is the best way to install an OTA after root. To do this you would need a pc ofc and use wugfresh's toolkit.
The stock recovery comes in the zip you download from https://developers.google.com/android/nexus/images
Look inside the zip inside of this zip

If you have root explorer then you have root which causes ota to fail. Factory images is your best bet. Or Rooted ROM.zip

Return to Stock

I am looking to return my tablet back to stock so I can watch Google movies. I have a wifi t710 tab2s. I have rooted it, installed a custom kernel, recovery, and rom. When I try to flash either one of these stock firmware 5.0.2_T710XXU1AOG5_T710XAR1AOG6_XAR.zip or 5.1.1_T710XXU1BOH7_T710XAR1BOH7_XAR.zip in Odin it fails.
Can someone tell me what I am doing wrong. Thanks in advance.
Never mind. I got it.

It's a tad annoying when people do that and don't explain how they fixed it so I'll try and elaborate on his behalf. :banghead:
Basically it seems he was attempting to flash the zips in Odin. Odin requires tar or md5 files. I'm guessing he realised he had to extract the tar from the zip file first then flash.
I hope it was something else cause I have extracted the zips

Yea, I should of explained how I did it. Unfortunately, I don't remember exactly how I did it. I believe I ended up using Samsung Smart Switch or Samsung Kies 3 to return it back to stock. There is an Emergency phone recovery option in both programs that will restore your device back to stock.
When I plug it into smart switch it says not recognized.
