Hello, I currently have a samsung galaxy s5 from att, g900a, which is stuck on the boot logo, while I was trying to downgrade from 5.0 to 4.4.4.
I have searched all thorughout google, xda forums, and I cannot find a solution. I came across a page where they had shared a link to the 5.0 g900a firmware. but the link to it is dead. Can someone upload it, or is there any other solution to this problem.
PS - I have tried many different kernels, 4.4.4 firmware, and partitions. I have been searching for over 3 weeks now. I really need this phone to just work.
All Help is appreciated, Thank You

Hi Guys, call me stupid but I went and did something without researching it all the way, and now i have a major problem.
So, what I did was mistakenly try to install 4.4.4 on my 5.0 device, thinking I could then root and re-install 5.0. Odin gave me a pass, so I booted up my device only to find It wouldn't fully boot, and would then go to recovery boot. I then noticed the large "Do not attempt if on 5.0 already" warning. So what I think I need is the stock firmware for 5.0 lollipop for SM-G900A devices.
Any help relating to the topic, or someone saying I'm looking for the wrong thing, is greatly appreciated!
Thanks,

My last post got no attention, so here is my second attempt.
A software update rolled out for my 5.1 Lollipop S5 Active, and since I wasn't really utilizing my root extensively, I decided I'd get rid of it to receive this update. Unfortunately, I didn't do a whole lot of research and decided I should start by uninstalling my SuperSU. After all, it seemed harmless. I then rebooted, and the thing will not surpass the AT&T boot animation.
The symptoms pointed towards a simple soft brick (i.e. gets to animation, recovery and bootloader not locked). However, I have not been able to successfully flash a fresh firmware onto the device with Odin. SamMobile only has one firmware release for this device, and it is the 4.4.2 version. Is this why the file is failing to flash? If so, how can I get around this issue? Thanks in advance!

Now if I remember correctly (if i am wrong someone please correct me) if your phone was on 5.0+ then you can not downgrade. Same thing with the build number where the old is NF4 i think, and the newest is OF3 with 5.0. my advice is to scour the internet and find the newest flash file. i know there is a 5.0 out there somewhere.
Hey guys!
I'm trying to root my "Samsung Galaxy S5 Active" - "G870A-0F2" - "5.0"
I know that there is no current root for 0F2, So I am trying to Downgrade my phone, I downloaded the stock firmware "NE4", Put it in AP for Odin, & I keep getting a FAIL. Any help would be awesome! How can I Downgrade my 0F2 Firmware.

Hello,
After doing some research I've found this thread mentioning a user with the same phone model (G870A) that successfully downgraded from 5.0 to 4.4.2.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=64386453&postcount=8
However, I think he was using a different bootloader version, which may be older than yours, and may also explain why he succeeded and you didn't.
The user posted a tutorial link and step-by-step instructions in the thread I linked above. I thought maybe it could help you.
**EDIT: original firmware for G870A can be found in this thread (filename is "G870AUCU1ANE4_Full_Odin.tar")

**EDIT 2: You may be in luck! This very kind user has posted more info about downgrading from 5.0 to KitKat (4.4.x):

Good luck !
I am not as sly as I thought these days. Tried to root my phone and now I have been stuck ever since. I followed the following process but it did not work for me (http://forum.xda-developers.com/att-galaxy-s5/general/how-to-root-g870aucu1ang3-gs5-active-t2868776) could not get past step #3. Phone will stick on Samsung screen for a minute then revert to Android Recovery. I do know the phone is on the latest MM 6.0.1. This is all I see at this time...
ANDROID RECOVERY
MMB29M.G870AUCS2DPH4
samsung/klteattactive/klteattactive
6.0.1/MMB29M/G870AUCS2DPH4
user/release-keys
I have tried MULTIPLE processes from these forums as well as a few others, all of which have failed except for flashing NE4 and NG3. They will flash successfully but still will not boot the phone.
I'm sure most of you are laughing at me right now and I deserve that but any help would be appreciated.
Have you tried flashing the newest official version via Odin?
I'm new at the S5, and it seems it'll be a bit before 6.0.1 is rooted. Though there's some hope in the general thread.
Hello,
After trying to root my Galaxy S6 active (Lollipop 5.1.1 - G890AUCU3BOJE) it is stuck in a boot loop. Since then I have searched for a solution (flash different version of the supposing stock files with Odin, which always fails; recover with Smart Switch e.g.) but everything I have tried fails. Today I found a comment on the web about the Galaxy S6 active cant be rooted.
Anyway, if there is a method to recover and root would be great. If not I woukd be happy to get it working again on android 5.1.1 or even higher.
Every help/hint is very much appreciated. Thanks a bunch in advance.
Peter
