me176cx RemixOS - MeMO Pad 7 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello just wanted to ask if it will be posible to install RemixOS on Asus me176cx as the Android RemixOS is ready for x86? I think it wold be great to get rid of the Stock OS from Asus. I will try to make some more research on this topic but if some one will be testing this option please share your findings

So last night i made some testing whit the stock image of RemixOS. I have used the UEFI image for testing and a 8GB USB drive.
After some minor changes in the me176cx BIOS the OS booted up OK. The problem part are the drivers, no WiFi, touch screeen and so on. But what was amazing was that the OS wasnt laging (if i dont count the slow loading from the USB drive) Multitasking was great, the usage of windows instead of full screen apps was somthing i could get used to
Im not a DEV so cant get more to work but i wold love to see some one port RemixOS fot the Asus Memo Pad 7

It's not BIOS. It's UEFI. People talking about switching off UEFI (actually enabling BIOS compatibility module, which is not always present) are really irritating me..

basically BIOS and UEFI are the same the diferenc is how the firmware handles the booting of the OS. Im not a expert just a beginer so i dont go into details. The point of this post was to share my expirinec whit RemixOS on this device and thet it can boot not to be technically accurate.

Hi, he is porting Remix OS to our tablet, maybe someone ask to him about ROM and help him .

Hey ! Need help

Hey ! as this is off topic forum i need help of pc not phones
So here's d problem
I have 2 motherboards
1 is on XP sp2
Another one has Xp sp 3
rite now i m running on motherboard with sp2
So i wanna switch motherboard from sp2 to sp3
Both of the motherboards have diffrent chip sets and all
So any way to Switch motherboards without changing windows ???
Wut?
Windows in on the Hard Drive. Sometimes when you boot windows on a different HD it will work, other times it won't. Try it. If it does boot up, install the drivers and register windows. But to tell you the troth, I really don't understand your OP
Sent from my XDA using HTC Vision.
OP meanS?
I wanted to switch motherboards !
I have 2 boards
Other one was of office nd i brought home coz dad took new motherboard
If i switch board it will boot ? Nd how to update drivers nd register windows ?
I think I'm starting to understand now. And OP stands for original post in this case.
Go to the manufacturer's website, go to support, type model name, download the necessary ones.
Put in the new mother board. Try booting up, if it doesn't try Safe Mode by pressing F8 when you boot. If one of those works, install the drivers from a USB stick. If they don't work, take a windows CD and try doing a repair, or reformat the whole system. Also, if you have no idea how to do any of that, give it to a professional.
i was going to call profesnal but he is out of stations ! Nd i dont noe model no. nd even winows inside is of duplicate cd
Every thing is of dublicate cd
Windows is not stored on the motherboard.
But what about drivers and all ??

[WIP] [BUILD 1] [9.1.13] Firefox OS (B2G) - NOT ANDROID, SOMETHING DIFFERENT

General Info:
More information about Firefox OS (B2G) is available here and here. So... I saw this and couldn't resist having a little sneaky play around with it. This is NOT a daily driver. This is NOT stable. It's pre-alpha. If you want something to use as a phone, this isn't it. If you just want to use your phone as a phone, you need android rom.
With that aside, and with the clear understanding that while this won't brick your phone, it's nothing to do with me if it did for some reason, or likewise if your cat (or other cute pet) suffers a painful death as a result of flashing this. At your own risk, like everything else here on XDA-Developers!
So without further ado, WTF is this? Well, it's a project from Mozilla (the lovely people behind the Firefox browser). I won't go into details, suffice to say I suggest you read a lot over at their wiki - start off at https://wiki.mozilla.org/B2G and work your way through the pages.
These builds can only be installed with CWM!!!

Remove Ubuntu on XP Dual Boot Problems

Hi folks,
I've been trying out Ubuntu lately which I installed on my laptop which came with Windows 7 installed but had the downgrade to XP option (which I had to have done as some of my work systems are not compatible with Windows 7 yet).
I installed Ubuntu 12.04 and used the partition tool to take 100GB off my Windows and reallocate it to Ubuntu.
Everything has been running fine as I got to grips with how to use Ubuntu to build android ROM's.
Now comes the time I have done what I wanted with Ubuntu and I want to remove it from the dual boot. I have read about 5 different guides how to do this and nothing is working.
As I understand it I need to fix/rebuild my MBR after I remove the Ubuntu partitions, but anything I have tried; including XP installation disc, XP Recovery Console disc, Windows 7 disc.....does not let me press 'R' to repair the system as the guides illustrate.
All the discs designed for XP result in a blue screen of death after it does an initial setup of hardware.
The Windows 7 disc gets further than that and asks me if I want to install 32 or 64 bit and gives me the partition/format options but there is no option to 'Repair'.
When I deleted the Ubuntu partition I was left with the GRUB error and my XP would not boot. After trying about 5 different things to repair the MBR (and failed) I decided re-installing Ubuntu would bring back the GRUB and allow me to dual boot XP again (which worked). But now I have 4 different partitions and I just want to merge them all back to my XP and have a working MBR.
Any ideas guys?
Screenshot of my partitions is attached.

Perhaps you could try Parted Magic or System Rescue CD which can both be burned to either a disk or a usb via Unetbootin. Parted Magic should help you edit/fix your partitions and System Rescue CD should help you repair your system from reading their quick descriptions. I have not used either, but I have used Unetbootin and it works fine for me and those disks are at least worth a try.
Just a btw, but you didn't have to create a new thread for this... you could have posted your question in the Desktop and Laptops thread... that thread + Google should be helpful for all your future endeavors.
Good luck with your computer!

Whatever you do, do it carefully. I used to dual boot w7 and Ubuntu and I removed Ubuntu and somehow corrupted grub, which then caused a hard drive failure

Air III won't boot on USB drive

Hi!
I'm trying to install Windows 10 on a M5C5 Air III running Guznos rom, I can't get it to boot on the USB drive.... Check the video, the sceen flashes and goes back to the bios
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=csAi7mh-g1Q
I've tried:
- making the USB bootable with Iso2Disc and Rufus, using GPT uefi
- on 2 different tablets
- with 2 different USB drives
- with 2 different ISO files of Windows 10 x86
- flashing bios with 2.05 version found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=65166671&postcount=87
- using OTG hub and OTG cable
Anybody have an idea what I could try?
Thanks!
After a little research, I figured my UEFI is in x64, so it couldn't boot on the usb drive because there was only the bootia32.efi in the Fs1:\EFI\BOOT\ folder. So I download Windows x64 and coppied the bootia64.efi file to efi\boot folder and it booted!!
But now I'm getting the following message.... I guess it expected the rest of the files to be x64 too. But I read on many threads that installing x64 Windows on the Air III M5C5 would brick the device.... So I'm kinda confused now :/
Anybody has an idea??

Or more simply: did anyone install x86 Windows on a x64 uefi Air III ?
I realise this is a dead thread, but for posterity's sake :
do NOT try flashing an x64 iso (or an AIO windows iso), it will hard brick your device without exception.
Before installing Win10 x86 and Android, you need the M5C5 dual boot bios v1.00, there is no decent step-by-step on how to do this.
This should get you started : https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=63984637&postcount=18
I know this is old but do you remember how did you solve the problem? I can't install the dual boot either.
i followed the instructions to which i linked in my previous post.
But, tbh, Win10 on this device isn't worth it.
I reverted back to Android-only.
